I live in Cork, I've been to Courtmacsherry a number of times, and never knew this ProTip. Thanks a lot, Graeme! Made my life a lot easier for next season.
Thanks for this, another tip if you are on your own take a longish bed sheet (old one or the missus will throtttle you) or a groundsheet and lay it along side your trench and throw the sand onto it as you dig it will give you longer to catch the eels as they can't get through the sheet, hope it helps.
When we follow the tide out on a beach we tap our feet within the 1st couple metres of where the tides washing and they think the tides come back in and rise out and we grab them. Had some nice size ones last weekend 😁 approx 200mm long
Great vid and with usual well thought out detail, Graham. Just one passing thought, I wonder if you could take a tarpaulin or something and throw the sand on that. That way, if they dig down then they'll hit plastic. Hey you know what, I might send this as a top tip to Viz...
Would putting down a cheap Poundland plastic tarp over the area your are scattering the sand onto to stop them burrowing? Then you can just ease the sand back into the trench you dug saving you fork filling it again? I know you love cheap tips lol :D Fantastic work Guys! I really appreciate your knowledge and channel.
TAFishing Woohoo ! Thanks again guys.Without doubt your channel is the most thorough and informative on Ireland/Uk fishing. No gimicky buy this and you need that,Just straight up quality advice
Dean Parvin Yeah, just got it....thought it was one of the Perch vids !! We've just got back from 36 hour carp trip so not functioning at full capacity !!. Certainly won't be digging sandeels tomorrow .Need to recouperate.
TAFishing haha yeh that will do it, i was rather confused there, i had to double check the video to see if there was any actual fishing in it :)...but as usual keep up the good work, love the videos.
I found one of these in the water today, it was along the beach and seemed to be playing dead or something. I totally thought it was dead at first but when I tried to move it it started squirming. It was rolling around on its side and making weird movements with its body, nothing like I've seen them do in videos I've seen of them. I then picked it up and it made so effort to escape or anything. Have you ever seen this?
Does anyone use mini feathers to catch sandeel? Just wondering how effective it would be. The beaches near me dont have this sort of gravely ground, and i've had a go at finding them but no success. They are definitely there because you can see them in the thousands at high tide!
The production quality of this show is excellent (and quite entertaining). Now if only there was an American equivalent of this show...
Tight lines!
Holy shi*! Pause at 1:55 and harambe's face is on the lower right rock!!
How the fook did you notice that?
lmao
It looks like King Kong
I had no idea that's where they went at low tide! Awesome

I've been into sea fishing a long time but I never realised you can dig sandeels!
Here in Scarborough on the North East coast we can catch sandeels about 12-4 inches on lures. It's incredible to say the least.
I live in Scarborough and have never heard of this. What lures do you use and where do you go?
Awesome video lads SALT LIFE YEAH

Why not use a tarp and throw the sand onto the tarp so that they can't dig under?
very clever ...good thinking
Exactly what I was about to type lol
Are sand eels on most beaches??
it is so cool how our latitude is similar and we have the same exact bait on both sides of the "pond" 😊🤙
that was the best fishing show I have ever watched
+Lois Chapman Thanks!
You are very welcome
Nice video Graham, you should do a video how to catch live shrimp from the shore too?
Really thank you, just in doubts I can do it in northern Atlantic like Norway or Sweden or Baltic sea 😢

Nah, no cornflakes boxes involved! 😂

Fine bait for bass. Great video how to find the sandeels!!
Thanks for another great video guys. I appreciate the time and effort you both put in and it really comes out in your videos.

Great video as always Graham. Any chance you could show the rig you use to fish live bait ?
Coming up in a video real soon :)
TAFishing Woohoo ! Thanks again guys.Without doubt your channel is the most thorough and informative on Ireland/Uk fishing. No gimicky buy this and you need that,Just straight up quality advice
Definitely hard work locating and catching them by the look of it, but hey if it's free you can't complain too much.
TAFishing I was referring to the bait digging....lol

I had no idea this is where you can find them. Thanks! How do you rate frozen ones? I imagine these are soon dead hooked throught the head.
nice one thanks

Nice bait !
They are not a true eel.... called 'Sand Lance' (N. Pacific variety: Ammonytes hexapterus)....many other species in other locales, as well.
Thanks dod the tip
They make great eating .A fine tasting fish!
I'm gonna try there 2moro for sandeels do ya reckon when the tide is at its very lowest is the best time
Low spring tides are the best. You need to find those gravel ridges.

I cant do this type of fishing i feel sorry for the live bait like sandeel it must hurt to get a hook in your eye socket what do you think?
robert marshall i can understand that you dont like it but it can catch you fish or just buy frozen dead baits because they catch fish too
Fish don't feel pain man lmao
carp love them
Really well I guess you learn something new every day
wonder where i can get these on the south side of Long Island
killed the bait lmao
Will your tips work in America? I find it hard to use Florida saltwater fishing tips in California.
Definately worth a try...takes just one good tip to turn your day around...stay safe California.
@@TAFishing Thank You Graeme! Haven't gotten on a Carp yet, but will give Eels a go!!
its great, it only takes 5 days to get 6 eels
Almost 72.000 subs get on
They are doing good
your welcome
I caught a sand eel using feathers
wow this guys looks like uncle rico from napoleon dynamite
Oh my god I'm not the only one.
I used to catch em under my foot and reach under my foot and gram em
Were they dead when he showed them in the bucket
No lmao
Maybe I'm missing some deleted comments but you can see the big one is alive despite the wound on its side
looks like a good work out 8-)
Or use a sand eel hook.
man that looks like a lot of work.
Through both eyesockets? And its alive ? Ouch
Hey good tips but you get a dozen of sand eels for 2 quid
Rav mok Only if you are near a supplier or tackle shop.If not,you can try digging your own.
+jeffel80 i think i should start selling these sand eels to USA then
@Kayak & Coastal Fishing Neither have I. Hence the reason why I use the sand eel soft plastic lure, which seems to work as good in my opinion.
hi
Do it at night get way way more
1000th like
Plastic sheet across where your turn the sand over
bud
could someone translate this into american english?
English is English. I can understand Americans, Scots, Australians etc. Why can't you?
