Hallol Michael, ben beginner+ . Ben zeer blij met jouw lessen, je kunt zo duidelijk uitleggen, ook waar de timing precies zit in de muziek, vind ik geweldig! dankjewel :-)
Oh Michael. i love you. every time i start a video and I see what you do, I am like, no way I can possibly do that, and then after a couple tries, I am done and i play along with you and I cannot believe it. You bring me so much joy! Thank you for these videos!
Thank you very much! I am glad to hear that you enjoy my videos so much. I know that not everything is that easy, but practicing in a slow tempo and when you feel it, speed up the tempo helps. Keep enjoying my videos!
I just love your tutorials. I recommend your videos to all of our batucada band members alas a way to make them think about rhythm and percussion techniques. It makes it easier for them to learn when our mestre teaches during practice sessions. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Thank you for your tutorials. I'm not musician and I don't play Bongo. I am a latin dancer and I am using your videos to improve my dance and, especially to distinguish bachata from a bolero or son. Cheers from Madrid!
Nice video Michael, hope all is well with you, greetings from Oakland Ca. I lived and played professionally in Amsterdam for 4 years (82-86)... Lots of Salsa been played there at that time. My regards to you and to Lesly Lopez, and Gerardo Rosales, if you happen to be friends with them. Take care. Edgardo Cambon.
Hi Michael, when I started with the basics for Bongo I was watching your videos and I wanted so bad to learn how to play Bachata, well this is one of my videos " thanks to you" . Serch word....for UA-cam. Bongo Cover, Llevame contigo Rome Santos ninadios
I have been arranging music but never included the bongo until now. I think I have learned enough from your lessons to include a bongo part in some of my arrangements. Thank you because I didn't even know how to put the notes on music. Reply
Thank you, Reuben. I'm glad my video's can help you. Most of the time they don't put notes on music for bongo. Only wenn there are breaks. I wish you good luck.
I can hear the bongo and have logic Pro X to make my arrangements. It has the bongo plus other instruments in the audio for each but I did not know how to enter the notes. I can hear the beats and have made good progress since watching you play and the scoring that you give. For my needs, this is perfect. Thank you again. Reuben
Maestro I like your videos and sharing this wonderful talent. I just have a humble request. Is there a posibility if you can make a video teaching how to read music notes for Bongos. Thank you.
thank you so much for your videos very helpful, can you make a video just like this one but explain how to play cumbia I saw your other video on cumbia but I didn't quite get it.
Tjonge wat gaaf is dit ... en leuk!! Heerlijk relaxte uitleg en je bent leuk! Inspirerend.
Succes!
I love your smooth style it has really shaped my playing as I am sort of a beginner. I have a question, I would love for you to answer. How exactly do you hit the flem? The middle finger hits first, followed by the pointing finger? But how are you able to leave such a gap between the two hits when you are playing slow tempo? Thanks so much mr. Miranda!
I'm from china, fond of bongo playing after watching Richard Feynman,I bought a bongo fews day ago,but I cant find some systemic lessons for bongo, would you give me some hint or advice? Muchas Gracias!
That is difficult to explain.... the macho should be tuned and it should sound dry. The hembra also depends on the conga player when I play together. So the tuning for me is always a bit different....
hola Michael espero q estes bien me gusta este video de bachata y bolero te quiero pedir de favor si lo puedes poner en espanol me encantaria que me ayudaras muchas gracias por tu atencion saludos.
Hello Miko, there are a lot of different branches like, Meinl, Toca, LP etc. The big branches often have cheaper models to start with. The first rhythm you should learn is the martillo. This is the most played rhythm. Good luck!
Hi Antonio, I have LP Matador (old model) and it has a standard size, but I don't know what inch... I think 7 and 8 inch, but I have to google it to be shure.
I don't know about other bongo beginners but for me I started off regarding it all as a kind of mathematics and keeping a count of the beats. Then after a while the numbers began to turn into sound and instead of thinking 1-2-3-4 ... 5-6 it became ba-ba-ba-ba... du-du. Has anyone else seen it this way or am I mad?
michael teacher.. i like latin music.. bongo is voice tander.. thank you very so much..
Was nice listening back to the intro and being able to properly appreciate the patterns, great vid
Thank you very much and I wish you good luck with it!
I don't even own a bongo, but I enjoyed watching this!

Hey. Man, help me. I need the full pattern or basic pattern of bongo bachata. please. Thanks
Hey Charles, the basic pattern is the martillo. The same as in son or son montuno.

how can I tune my bongos to this pitch?
+Luis Verdejo I don't know what kind of bongo you have and what skin you use, but you just have to turn the macho up to get a higher pitch.
soy Bongocero

Are u Dutch ?
Yes, I am. Do you recognize my Dutch accent?
Michael de Miranda haha yea just a little. I lived in Nederland for 7 years , great video btw !
