Big Gold World Heavyweight Title was my favourite. It looked like an actual, grand championship with a lot of history behind it. The worst belts would have to be the recent line of big W belts in WWE. They're just awful, completely awful. Looks like a bad children's drawing.
I totally agree, the big gold belt looked fantastic. The only way it could have looked better if if they added another color to it (probably silver) so that it popped more. As for what they'd color, I was thinking maybe all of the letters in "World Heavyweight Championship". Maybe they could outline the face of the belt in that color too. And yeah, the new belts do look kind of goofy. They look cartoony to me, but that does fit with the WWE product. So I guess they are perfect in that sense, but I still don't like them.
Those big W belts that wwe use now don't even look like championships, they're just another WWE logo to stick on somebody for more advertising. All that matters is the brand and putting WWE over
Yeah I hate how alot of the wwe belts are just the same belt with different colours. I get that branding is important for big companies like that but the belts with the massive company logo just look boring.

Lol I totally relate to that. It feels like Flair was never without that belt for more than two weeks at any time from 88 to 91 while I was also a child. As much as I always wanted Sting to beat him, Flair looked so prestigeous with that gold belt and his suits.
I would have to agree it's a beautiful title other than the original ic championship probably my favourite which was recently changed?? I've always loved that One more to make a top 3 The WWF/E title the one that Kurt won for his first world title
That design was probably the best and was ahead of its time! Not knowing TV contracts and cable pay per views are apart of that belt and who a consumer pays to see.
I really like the winged eagle WWF belt that Randy Savage and Bret Hart wore and the IC title from the same time period. A lot of that is that those were the belts when I got into wrestling. After Wrestlemania XIV where Austin switched to a new design it just didn't look right to me. Actually I was unaware that there had been prior belt designs for those titles as I hadn't seen older wrestling yet, so I thought it was really disrespectful to change the belt design which I assume had been in place since the first champions. From the same period the WWF tag titles were completely forgettable and uninteresting. When I first started watching WCW I was thrown off by how huge the big gold belt was as it looked nothing like any WWF title. Now I think it's cool but it looked weird to me at first.
I loved that belt too but I've come around to believing that that design should have been used for a US title since the eagle is an American symbol. A world belt should have had a globe with laurel wreaths around it, maybe a bit like the UN symbol without being exactly like it.
I love that humble brag by Jim..."I use to carry the belts for the boys which is why one shoulder is lower than the other"..... meaning they were such mainstays on top it was actually detremental to Corny's health
My favorite titles are obviously the winged WWF Heavyweight and the IC title. I’ve always loved the European title. The Hardcore Title is so grimy, it’s perfect. The WCW Heavyweight and the US title. ECW’s title and I will forever love Taz’s FTW title. The Million Dollar Title! And the Larry Sweeney’s ICW-ICWA Texarkana Television Championship!
The current WWE belts are hideously ugly. The old IC belt and Eagle World Belt looked so much better. I bet it was Kevin Dunn's idea to "update" them. A lot of the territory belts from the 80's are better looking. World Class had great belts, the Texas Champ belt and tag belts looked awesome. "Big Gold" from WCW was the most impressive IMHO. Also, the NWA belt will always be a classic.
As for something current, I love all the singles current IWGP Heavyweight Titles, the Never Openweight, the I.C., the Heavyweight, and my favourite the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Title, I like that one because it reassembles the NWA United States Title, plus I really like the Red Leather that holds the Title.

He meant the writer of the email was younger than 40 because anyone that age would know that there were no replica championship belts in the 70's or 80's and didn't appear until the late 90's.

My favourite belt of all time is the Attitude Era heavyweight title. The globe/big eagle belt. Absolutely beautiful, something a real champion would wear. Too bad HHH had it so much.
Kai Green, the Big Eagle belt is a different belt to the Winged Eagle belt. The Big Eagle belt is basically an updated take on the Winged Eagle but it is not the same.
I liked big gold, the late 80s IC belt, and the winged eagle WWF belt There were a few styles that were repeated; the NWA national and tv titles were similar, which was similar to the WWF title. The US title looked a lot like the WWC universal title.
I always loved the old Alabama title belt from the Southeastern days. It had the central emblem plate, with slots cut through the metal on each side, and the leather straps went through these slots and were riveted back to themselves to complete the belt. I used to have a poster of Austin Idol with Minerva and this belt. I think it came out of Wrestling Scene. Jerry Stubbs supposedly threw that belt in the river when the Fullers were replacing all the belts. I asked Jimmy Golden one time what really ever became of that belt, and he said he didn't know. Neat, unique old belt.
Tetsuya Naito actually got heat when he threw the IWGP championship belt the first time he won it. He also treated the IC belt like garbage , he actually destroyed his main plate. You could heard the gasps from the fans every time he disrespected the belt.
I thought as a heel that was great heel heat. He was a perfect heel when he initially brought Los Ingobernables to Japan from Mexico with Rush & La Sombra to form Los Ingobernables de Japon. Then he started being cheered....still a great gimmick but i proffered him as a true heel. His initial heel turn reminded me of when The Rock first turned heel from being Rocky Maivia to The Rock.
I became a fan in the early 80's at the age of 10 and would definitely geek out over belt designs. I was making my own out of fabric, cardboard, and copper foil because you couldn't buy one at the store. Two belts that come to mind that I think looked better on crappy TVs and from the cheap seats at the arena than they did up close are the WWF Big Green (that went from Backlund>Sheik>Hogan) and the green IC belt in the early 80's (that Valentine smashed after losing to Santana in the cage). Both of those looked really good on my 17" TV back in the day, seeing closeup pictures of those things today and they are ugly as sin.
My favorites were the WWF World title winged-eagle, the old Intercontinental belt made famous by Honky Tonk Man and the Ultimate Warrior, and the NWA United States tag team title. And Arn Anderson's red NWA TV title.
Yes! The old school NWA/WCW United States title and the NWA Television title were the best by far. The old school WWF IC belt and old school tag team belts that Valentine & Beefcake wore were money too!
I think if you could get today's event production budget with the wrestlers' attitude of 1970s-early 80s, you would have a truly wonderful organization.
@@Xxrocknrollgod really? That's your response? That lame "ok boomer" remark. Instead of providing a counter point, you rely on an ad hominem statement.
80s/90s winged eagle, intercontinental & tag belts. A belt for the top guy..a belt for the workhorse from mid to upper mid card, who was being groomed to eventually get the winged eagle. Then there were the tag belts for pretty strong tag divisions back then. They were all you needed….not all the meaningless ‘brand’ belts that wwe now use!
The NWA World Heavyweight Championship (whilst I respect the history of it) is a very ugly title belt, aesthetically it’s not symmetrical because of the damn US flag on the centre plate and the flags on the side plates are dumb as hell. All the WWE main roster belts (except the US Title) are crap I’ll agree with you there. WWE has two very nice belts though in the UK Championship and the NXT North American Championship. Nicest current belt in my opinion is either the IWGP Heavyweight Championship or the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. Best belt of all time is the Big Gold Belt.
Big Platinum (AEW) is a thing of beauty. Outside of the winged eagle belt from the Attitude Era, AEW and the IWGP Heavyweight Championships are my favorite in terms of looks.
@@dod6031 The only thing uglier than NWA WHC is the TNT Championship they debuted at AEW Double or Nothing 2-- I know it was 'unfinished' but still it somehow looks worse than the horrible AEW Women's Championship (which looks too small for a world champ's belt)
That sounds like The Sheik's Detroit-area US belt. I found out years after moving away from Michigan that I lived not far at all from The Sheik. I had no idea.
my favorite championship belts were the original Ric Flair Big Gold Belt, AWA Big World Title belt, the NWA US Title from '86-'89, and the WWF Heavyweight Title from '86-'88.
Damn I miss the Big Gold Belt. It's what a World title should look like! The WWE Undisputed title (that was last worn by JBL, until John Cena won it from him at Wrestlemania and then introduced that horrible spinner belt) is my second favourite. I really wish WWE could bring them back.
My two favorite belts were the old United States championship belt (used in the 70s by both Crockett & Sheik's promotions) because of their unique shape, and the Georgia State champion belt, used during the 70s to early eighties
Paul Wight said Hogan told him after he won the WCW Big Gold to wear the belt in the Airport. He said he was walking through all proud of his first World Championship. He met Sting who asked him what are you doing? That’s when he knew he was ribbed. I asked Marty Jannetty on MySpace if wrestlers got to keep their belts? He said only Shawn did that because he told the promoter he forgot the belt at home.
@@Ted_Bell Yes I’m very old. A friend was signing me up for different social media sites. I didn’t realize I had a Facebook Account till my Sister told me. My Oldest Niece was on Vacation in New Zealand she was posting photos and tagged me in some. I activated my Facebook Account when MySpace ceased I planned to just use Twitter
Nah, this isn't true. The NWA held the deposit, not WCW. And Flair immediately lost the deposit when he refused to put over Barry Whindham. That was the whole point to the deposit in the first place.
@@MeMe-td1ye Okay millennial..and I'll keep it short as your attention span will no doubt be shattered by the next Youporn ad that pops up on your browser: it's hard to get heat over a belt when you have a new champion every two weeks...when belts are treated like old whores.
Top 5 Belts 1. WWF Championship (Big Eagle) 2. World Heavyweight Championship (Big Gold) 3. WWF Championship (Dual plated Winged Eagle) 4. WCW United States Heavyweight Championship 5. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship (10 pounds of Gold) Everyone of these belts outclass the garbage out today. Such a shame they're gone, but I'm thankful they were a part of my wrestling history.
i have a boxing amature middleweight championship from 1930s Britain, my grandfather won it and someone got the bright idea to make a new belt and he kept it
@kingofkings69ner the 24/7 title in both name and booking suggests it is only won via run ins and shenanigans rather than built up rivalries or legit competition.
@kingofkings69ner there is such a thing as better or worse angles though, and treating a belt as if its prestigeous or not. You know damn well this is what I was refering to.
It doesn't look so bad. It looks much like the Mid South North American title. Just dual plated and has a lot of filigree and jewels. And a bit more curvature. But it LOOKS like a big enough deal and isn't a carbon copy of another, but with a different color strap.
The Big Gold World Heavyweight Championship Belt is honestly my #1 favorite championship belt of al time. I have a replica of it myself. I just love the design and I honestly have loved that design over ANY belt that WWF/E ever made.
Corny, hook up a shirt! Tell Bruce to hook up a shirt too. The WWF tag team titles that Demolition, British Bulldogs, Hart Foundation and more had were the best.
I actually remember that TNA story. It was the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship and I couldn't believe what had happened as a fan. Now granted the belt wasn't on the line because Christian was in the Lethal Lockdown match but still.
Classic Intercontinental title (black strap) and Winged Eagle are the best looking in my opinion. The Ten Pounds of Gold is the most prestigious. And that's the bottom line. Honorable mention to the NWA Television title
It looked prestigeous as could be. Even when WWF was clearly a bigger deal, WCW's belt looked like it was forged in the legacy of 50 years of pro wrestling history.
@AmishRiot the original big gold was a piece of sterling silver hand carved 24 Karat plated gold the cost in 1985 to make it was $13,000 the retail price was $20,000. The most expensive belt ever produce I don't know where do you find it cheap
My favorite will always be the wwe title cena introduced. For me as a kid that's what I grew up on. Always liked the design, especially when it became stationary. Big gold belt is also legendary for me.
The WWE left the Universal title in Saudi Arabia when Saudi Arabia held them up because of money disputes. The thing was RAW was happening while the belt and half the roster were stuck in Saudi Arabia. Brock Lesner, Universal Champion at the time left Saudi Arabia early and wasn't stopped on the tarmac. So when he appeared on RAW. He wore a replica Universal belt. The same one a fan can buy from the shop. How do I know this? The belt didn't have Brock Lesnars placards on the side. And on the pleather strap had the trademark WWE authentic replica stamp on it as well as the "JAKS pacific" hologram sticker left on it. Probably because they were planning on repackaging and selling it.
One of the most underrated titles in my opinion is the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. Something about the design just does it for me. It’s perfect for it’s division. It’s not quite as prestigious looking as the world title from the time, but it was perfect for a Cruiserweight/Junior Heavyweight division. And I always preferred Junior/Light heavyweights over Cruiserweights. Cruiserweights can fight for the Light Heavyweight/Junior Heavyweight title and it also bumps the weight up so more lower card guys have something to do. Idk, for me it’s a beautiful title that had tons of potential.
Big Gold World Heavyweight Title was my favourite. It looked like an actual, grand championship with a lot of history behind it.

Both of those looked really good on my 17" TV back in the day, seeing closeup pictures of those things today and they are ugly as sin.
Well boxing championships were also mentioned in this video so I'd have to ask: WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO or Ring Magazine, which belt is a favorite here?
My favorites were the WWF World title winged-eagle, the old Intercontinental belt made famous by Honky Tonk Man and the Ultimate Warrior, and the NWA United States tag team title. And Arn Anderson's red NWA TV title.
Yes! The old school NWA/WCW United States title and the NWA Television title were the best by far. The old school WWF IC belt and old school tag team belts that Valentine & Beefcake wore were money too!
I think if you could get today's event production budget with the wrestlers' attitude of 1970s-early 80s, you would have a truly wonderful organization.
NWA?
Ok boomer
AEW
@@Xxrocknrollgod really? That's your response? That lame "ok boomer" remark. Instead of providing a counter point, you rely on an ad hominem statement.
@Hasil Atkins i do....the "Ok boomer" quote is still lame.
My favorite will always be the NWA "ten pounds of gold". The AEW belt and the WWE current main title belts are just ugly except the US title.
The NWA title is shaped like a big ass.
Every WWE title should have its own design
@@dod6031 The only thing uglier than NWA WHC is the TNT Championship they debuted at AEW Double or Nothing 2-- I know it was 'unfinished' but still it somehow looks worse than the horrible AEW Women's Championship (which looks too small for a world champ's belt)
That Lou Thesz belt is a beautiful belt. From the modern era I really like the NWA Television belt, with a red strap looks best.
I liked the NWA US Championship belt when the gold was shaped like the USA. That looked cool.
That sounds like The Sheik's Detroit-area US belt. I found out years after moving away from Michigan that I lived not far at all from The Sheik. I had no idea.
@@BrutishYetDelightfulEither that or the Crockett NWA US belt.
my favorite championship belts were the original Ric Flair Big Gold Belt, AWA Big World Title belt, the NWA US Title from '86-'89, and the WWF Heavyweight Title from '86-'88.
It cracks me up when Jim gets so fired up he goes "Brrrrrrrrr..."
I've always loved the original WCW World title/World Heavyweight Title
Really showing my age here BUT I really liked the old Pedro Morales intercontinental belt.
Damn I miss the Big Gold Belt. It's what a World title should look like! The WWE Undisputed title (that was last worn by JBL, until John Cena won it from him at Wrestlemania and then introduced that horrible spinner belt) is my second favourite. I really wish WWE could bring them back.
I could listen to Jim and Brian talk for hours! And I do!😂
Still have yet to cop a Replica title belt, leaning towards NWA/WCW big gold “flair belt” or WWF 1988-98’ Eagle title
On Myspace huh
@@Ted_Bell Yes I’m very old. A friend was signing me up for different social media sites. I didn’t realize I had a Facebook Account till my Sister told me. My Oldest Niece was on Vacation in New Zealand she was posting photos and tagged me in some. I activated my Facebook Account when MySpace ceased I planned to just use Twitter
My favorite belt was the NWA world title that Flair had forever in the 80s
That "belt deposit", was the reason Flair showed up in WWE with the WCW belt. They wouldn't give him his money so he took the belt with him.
Herd probably didn't lnow
Nah, this isn't true. The NWA held the deposit, not WCW.
And Flair immediately lost the deposit when he refused to put over Barry Whindham. That was the whole point to the deposit in the first place.
@@chrischar9428Herd was NWA President, he definitely knew.
@@Rjensen2 there wasn't much nwa...he was in charge of WCW
@@chrischar9428 He was the NWA President from 1991-1992.
Personally I want the eagle WWF belt I think Austin still has it
I liked the 70's giant awa belt that gagne and bockwinkel had
Me too, it was the precursor to Flair's Big Gold belt
I liked that belt as well. Stan Hansen supposedly ran over it with his truck and then mailed it back to Verne after their dispute.
Its hard to get heat over a belt when you’re not allowed to say the word “belt”.
@@MeMe-td1ye Okay millennial..and I'll keep it short as your attention span will no doubt be shattered by the next Youporn ad that pops up on your browser: it's hard to get heat over a belt when you have a new champion every two weeks...when belts are treated like old whores.

It's a belt
The Big Gold Belt, WCW’s TV title & United States Heavyweight title, and TNA’s original tag team titles. Those are all my personal favorites
Belts not titles
MrNWA4Life title belts, not belts.
@@Voysh2Voysh69
They're BELTS you fucking moron.
The WWF IC belt from 80s and 90s, the winged eagle world belt, and the Big Gold belt are my favorites
Big Gold, Winged Eagle, Old IC Title with the WWF in Red, Old (WCW) US Championship belt, NWA Championship belt, Smoking Skull belt
Top 5 Belts
1. WWF Championship (Big Eagle)
2. World Heavyweight Championship (Big Gold)
3. WWF Championship (Dual plated Winged Eagle)
4. WCW United States Heavyweight Championship
5. NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship (10 pounds of Gold)
Everyone of these belts outclass the garbage out today. Such a shame they're gone, but I'm thankful they were a part of my wrestling history.
WCW US belt is criminally overlooked.
@@archiemisc Kids today will never know how godlike that championship was. Such a good belt. And glad I have it in the collection.
i have a boxing amature middleweight championship from 1930s Britain, my grandfather won it and someone got the bright idea to make a new belt and he kept it
I always loved when Bruiser called the Mo. State Championship 10 lbs of love from the State of Missouri.
1. Big Gold Belt
2. Winged Eagle Belt
3. Attitude Era World Title
4. WCW US Title
4. Early-Mid 90’s IC Title
Honestly, I think the prestige behind the belt is the most important thing for a belt being legitimate, followed by the look of it.
14:40 it was the Longhorn in Tallahassee.
WWE needs to bring back the TV title... You could defend it on both brands......
@kingofkings69ner the 24/7 title in both name and booking suggests it is only won via run ins and shenanigans rather than built up rivalries or legit competition.
That was a fun title.... it was always time limit on wcw back in the day
It was. Great wrestlers held that title. Like Arn Andersen Brian Pillman Alex Wright Steve Austin HHH Sting.
@kingofkings69ner there is such a thing as better or worse angles though, and treating a belt as if its prestigeous or not. You know damn well this is what I was refering to.
I remember The Iceman going to the pawn shop with his USWA title...! :D
How do you pawn a title?
That was Snowman Eddie Crawford not Iceman. And it's a BELT.
The story of Owen calling his father and pretending to be Reg. Classic Owen.
You talk like you grew up with him
Like Mike Foley in TNA when he won the TNA championship belt for the first time🤔!
I cant lie without championships ,I would have never fell in love with Wrestling.
The Southeastern Championship Wrestling belt and the classic NWA Globe belt!
The title seems a bit misleading. I mean, he's really talking about championship titles here.
Do you work for WWE?
Did you hit your head?
Don't worry, it's nothing serious. Not bad enough to have to go to a local medical facility or anything.
Belts not titles dumbass.
The old winged eagle wwf heavy weight title is still one of the best looking belts ever ! And my fav
My favorite was the AWA belt that Lawler won
The NWA world title, Hogans 86 world title, and the WWE/WCW undisputed championship belt.
I remember when Cody Rhodes said "Our belts will look good." And then the AEW Title was revealed...
Lol!!😂 ikr, kinda reminds me of a boxers title. Or something from the 70's.
@@timothyrobinson2387 but not as bad at the belt in the first 4 Rocky movies. The Thunderlips belt looked better.
It doesn't look so bad. It looks much like the Mid South North American title. Just dual plated and has a lot of filigree and jewels. And a bit more curvature. But it LOOKS like a big enough deal and isn't a carbon copy of another, but with a different color strap.
It’s better than wwe
and then put himself over for said title.
The Sheik got his United States Title belt...Detroit version, Stolen in Japan
I like the creativity of the Open the Dream Gate Championship from Dragon Gate, with the key and lock feature.
1. NWA Big Gold Original
2. IC '86-87
3. NWA TV "Red"
4. Winged Eagle original
5. NWA heavyweight
That's how Naito treats the IC belt all the time just throwing it around...
The Big Gold World Heavyweight Championship Belt is honestly my #1 favorite championship belt of al time. I have a replica of it myself. I just love the design and I honestly have loved that design over ANY belt that WWF/E ever made.
The red strap TV title was always my favorite. I remember when it was handed to Dusty, it is still an absolute gem
Corny, hook up a shirt! Tell Bruce to hook up a shirt too.
The WWF tag team titles that Demolition, British Bulldogs, Hart Foundation and more had were the best.
The classic winged eagle and the classic IC belt with the white strap. Those were my favorite!
My favorite belt is the heaviest belt ever, Big Gold, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title!!!
It looked prestigeous as could be. Even when WWF was clearly a bigger deal, WCW's belt looked like it was forged in the legacy of 50 years of pro wrestling history.
Phenomenally overrated.. it’s fairly cheesy.. Gold winged looks like a real belt
@AmishRiot the original big gold was a piece of sterling silver hand carved 24 Karat plated gold the cost in 1985 to make it was $13,000 the retail price was $20,000.
The most expensive belt ever produce I don't know where do you find it cheap
My favorite too but only with the black NWO spray paint!
@AmishRiot humm we have different opinion on that one
The IC belt has always been my favorite. I was glad when they brought it back, even though it doesn’t mean anything anymore.
None of their championship belts mean anything because WWE title reigns are meaningless.
