In a parallel universe this was an actual collaboration that went to #1 on the billboard top hits.
LOL right, so good
Can you imagine this live in a stadium? Heaven.
I need to get there.
“Now for the song you all made number one!” South Park
,😮😆😆
Ronnie James Dio : Say no to drugs, kids.
Rick James : More for me.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.😂😂😂
I was thinking the same thing lol very polarizing
😂😂😂
what a joke Dio was more in it, speccially the worst, Sister H...
I am Rick James b**ch
I think it’s safe to say that soul and metal have been hooking up behind our backs for years. I am BLOWN AWAY BY THIS.
Have you seen the interview with Dave Grohl and Pharrell where he's telling him that all of his songs are taken from the Gap band and disco😮😮😮
Yes! I'm awestruck I love it
That connection you speak of is Foghat.
That was mind blowing ..when they did the drums and it kicked into the gap band it was like woa!
I picture Rick and Ronny in heaven right now going, "We should have done this.".
you picture rick james and dio in heaven?
I am sure if heaven existed that Rick James would not be there 😂
@@bugglemagnum6213 Dio would be, reportedly a really nice guy.
If you believe in heaven and hell I am not sure Rick is I heaven. Lol.
@@user-ns8sw5id4q"nice" stamps a celestial ticket?
If there was someone whose never heard of Rick James or DIO, they'll never be convinced this was a mash up.
Even the live shows visuals go together quite well. I'd nearly believe they were performing right next to each other :D
Bro I’ve never heard of Rick James but I’m gonna check him out now. He’s got a killer voice.
@@csguy3223 Forget the haters, Street Songs is a killer album.
you nailed it
@@csguy3223 Have you ever heard of Dave Chappelle? Geez. "I'M RICK JAMES BITCH!"
I was almost afraid to hit play. But as Rick once said "Bill McClintock Mashups are a hell of a drug".
✨🎶✨🤘😂✨🎶✨
Exactly what I was gonna say!!!!
I usually spell it as "Helluva" tho.
✨😃Awesome stuff!
The thumbnail art is incredible.

I'm never afraid to push his button. Bill's never let us down.
I'M RICK DIO BITCH!!
Haahaaa haaahaa... clicked and still laughing from disbelief how awesome this mix is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was so dang good I’m wondering what RJD’s vocal track would sound like on Rick Jame’s music
I love how even the fashion styles compliment each other
Hard funk and heavy metal both have roots in the psychedelic era in acid rock and psychedelic soul.
Wth is the bass player thinking?
Can't get enough of soul metal!
Yeah dude
Hip to be square Metallica = your welcome !!
I hope you know Mother's Finest!
Man if people werent so married to their genres we could have had things like this on an actual stage. Thanks for making this!
Aerosmith and RUN DMC did "Walk this way" back in 1986
I have never understood why people can be so stuck in one genre. I love all music
Duuude. Wr did have this!! Arrowsmith and Run DMC!!! THE BEST!
@@williamsexton3078because that is the way we were conditioned to think. Society and group behaviours are for the most part by design. To keep us separated and ignorant. Always thinking our way is the best and those outside of our circle are less than. Time to think for ourselves.
We might have if Hendrix would’ve stayed around and fm radio didn’t go so commercial in the mid to late 70’s. But I’m sure that Hendrix would’ve been the first to pull it off. I’m surprised that Prince didn’t either.
The mad alchemist strikes again.
Classic reply god bless you😅
Pure Gold
this is crazy, well fuckin done.
Honestly, this mashup sounds like a singular song that represents a man having an internal conflict as he's in denial about the abusive relationship he has with a drug, or maybe an actual person. Rick James vocals represent the part of himself that's addicted and in denial while the Dio vocals kinda represent the man's conscience, trying to break through and get the man to end his toxic relationship with the substance/person. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way, this mashup is absolute art.
Amazing work. The fact that both these artists are deceased and paying them both homage shows how Iconic they both were. Great job.
John Oates on guitar for Rick James 😂
It's truly astonishing how Ricks vocals just sit so perfectly with Holy Diver. I know you have to sync everything and put a lot of work in to make these sound as good as they do, but this one just blew me away.
Rick James actually started singing rock and roll before getting into funky slinky R&B. Very unique vocal quality
Not hard when both songs are 4/4
@@MrJeezus I only really knew Superfreak before as a band called Mordred had covered it, but I’ve listened to a few songs now due to Bill using his songs occasionally in mash ups. I need to actually get a couple of albums and dig a little deeper. Rick James had some serious talent.
@@Brandon-dy8us do it, then ? Always looking for high-quality mashups.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug, which is why I could no longer work with Sabbath...
This is without a doubt the greatest mashup of all time. Hands down. Without question. Period.
Agreed! I’m blown away! Not just at how well it was done (seamless to my ears) and it’s such a perfect fit. No doubt that both Ronnie James Dio and Rick James would like it.
Check out his mashup of Judas Priests "The Sentinel" and Roxettes "She´s got the look"

Check out the Megatallica Sisters, Masters of the Neutron Dance Destruction
Beat It, Trooper, Staying Alive in Black and Play That Funky Music Rammstein are all better, though this is excellent.
Rick James always considered himself a rock star. He was a fan of and a memeber of rock bands. RIP King Of Funk! 🤘🏼🙏🏼🤎

Rick James was so much more than just a Super Freak, listen his song Hollywood 🎵
Indeed!
I feel so lucky to have seen Ronnie with “Heaven & Hell” before he died! Both these legends have wonderful documentaries out about them as well that I can’t recommend enough.

@@BKLYN_TZU man it has been so long I didn't even remember the Rick James song. I had to look it up and listen to it. I still don't remember it from back in the day, and it is ok, but this mashup knocks it out of the water.
Oh - my - goodness!!!!!!
For a Black kid growing up in Detroit, listening to Rick James and R&B in my neighborhood yet at home, listening to metal, THIS was absolutely fantastic!!! 😄
Thank you...
Craziest part of this is Dio’s outfit fits perfectly with Rick James’group and then Rick James doing the devil horns. Wtf. Did these guys plan this 40 years ago???
#conspiracyrevealed
They are one in the same~🤘
Rick James has always been very rock adjacent, mixing it a lot with his funk. kinda like Prince.
No… they just both worshipped Satan.
Nah everyone just liked cocaine and weird clothes.
Rich was a great man in my opinion, i was his personal bodyguard in the Buffalo area in the 80's whenever he was back in town. This man was HILARIOUS to be around and i think of him OFTEN, we ALL have shortcomings and demons to deal with. Great video !
Was Charley Murphy's Kung-Fu really as good as he said?
Not often do people call kidnapping and torturing a woman a ‘shortcoming’
Possibly the best mashup ever, both the audio and video. Thanks for spreading the love!
So perfectly seamless. Bill McClintock has arrived at the Jedi Grand Master level.
He is allowed to sit on the council, but we cannot confer to him the title of Master.
@@Briansgate
Then Order 66 is justified. I'll help.
He already arrived there with the Temptations/Black Sabbath mashup
He's been at this level since Marvin Gaye and Ratt...
When the background singers came in, I pretty much had to change my underwear. (but didn't)
As a hardcore DIO fan, I'm totally downloading this so I can jam in the car

Your profile picture makes me think of Rick James yelling at Frank Garret.
Fucking hell. I didn't know it was possible for anything to rock as hard as this
Soul Metal strikes again!!! Incredible genre created by masterful mashup artists like Bill McClintock!!
LOL Soul Metal!
@@matthewpower3062 Both Bill and DJ Cummerbund have done their fair share of soul vocals over metal songs, and it ALWAYS works :)
If you like 'Soul Metal', check bands from the 80s and 90s like: 24/7 Spyz, Living Colour, Fishbone, Kings X, even Ben Harper to a lesser metal, more Rock extent, to name only a few.
While this is a great mix and Bill talents are not to be denied or denigrated, this genre is not a new creation.
One example I have for you is the “Loud Rocks” album from 1999.
Check it out.
Holy Mary, mother of Jane. In Bill we trust
Man the Lynch solo was icing on the cake!
Came to the comments for this.
Don't really know either of these tracks, I have heard of Dokken but that solo was the best part of the song, this George Lynch guy has game!

Thank you, Lord.
Once again this is so seamless that if you didn't know any of the individual songs you'd never suspect it even was a mashup
I fall into that category! I was just going to comment that I don’t know either of these songs, so this sounds like this was a real track!
Exactly! This is so perfect!
Wait...two songs? 3 ...

@@TurboGent fair enough, but if you haven't yet, check out the originals, Holy Diver by Dio and Mary Jane by Rick James. I saw Dio's last concert before he passed away, RIP. Never got to see Rj but he's gone too now RIP.

Adult time is the least valuable time. Enjoy this masterpiece shame-free.
For a stoner who is both a fan of RJD and Rick, this might be the greatest thing I've ever seen😂
My jaw has dropped to the floor...amazing
I only now realize how great a singer Rick James actually was ✨
So underrated!
I was thinking the same thing. It's interesting that his vocals were more noticeable when isolated and mixed over the Dio trackouts. This is also testament to the incredible talent of engineer Art Stewart in the original recording and Bill Mcklintock's uncanny abilities to not just find and mix complementary sample sources but also his audio engineering skills. The vocal stem on this track sounds so much more clear and audible than on the original Rick James track.
@@mikelprescott628 Definitely. It's one of the reasons I cannot get into funk that much. The vocals are drowning in the instruments somehow... doesn't get time to shine properly like we see here
@@MichaelHolmgaard ...Funk is about the collective Vibe of the whole song not just vocals. It's a worthy genre of music like any other but it's more focused on rhythm and movement, so if you don't have that it makes it harder to appreciate.
@@jiveturkeylee I played drums for 10 years so I have rhythm and movement. I just don't like funk music overall. I can appreciate the talent that goes into it, but the music is not my style at all. Great musicians though 🙌
I'm sorry, but this is perfection. It really is. I find myself listening to this more than Holy Diver lately. It truly is spot on. It's like it was supposed to happen. Too bad Ronnie and Rick aren't around to hear this. Xoxoxo
it was in the top 10 charts for months in an alternate dimension.
The Sabbath/Temptations one is the same. I cannot listen to Children of the Grave and not start singing "I never had a girl that makes me feel the way that you do" 🤣🤣

That's actually pretty damn good shit.
When Rick James felt that rock and roll flavor and said , HIT ME
Rick James and Dio both had voices that expanded beyond their respective genres!!
Well, RJD started singing in a doo-wop / rock band in 1960 (Ronnie and the Redcaps) so I think his voice expanded music as a whole. \m/\m/
I swear to God you are operating on a different plane of consciousness to the rest of us. How do you consistently do this?! The quality of these mash ups is nothing short of amazing.

The collaboration no one was expecting but everyone needed.

As a devout Scandinavian metalhead I should be crying " Herecy"!!!! so loud it would resound and resonate to the depths of the Netherworld but this is just so spot on that any objection evaporates as quickly as a Mary Jane on an episode of Soul Train........
The two dancing ladies in their high boots are a perfectly placed addition to the original song too...
