      My Thoughts EXACTLY! The crunch of the riff adds a sence of urgency and gives a nice ying-yang contrast. The stripping out of the backing vocals helps to.

    I like the little reverse reverb tail you put on Marvins voice right before the chorus comes in to ala the effect on the Original. Nice. Damn, Marvin Gaye could sing over a thunderstorm and it would be a hit.

    I grew up on Marvin Gaye. I am a great fan, and I absolutely LOVED Ratt in the 80s and 90s. This Sir, is BRILLIANT, and it just goes to show you, good music is good music. Genré matters not.

      Actually, there is a band called "Rock Candy" that mashes up rocks songs and performs them in the studio. They have an album out. Do a UA-cam search for them. It's wild and funny.

      RATT really started rolling in 84 when I was 16 in highschool still one of my favorite bands of all time, Warren is a guitar god absolute LEGEND, love all types of music this with legendary Marvin is to good.

    Un-freakin'-believable! It is amazing how perfectly this works!
    Marvin's I Heard It Through The Grapevine is my favorite song of all time, and I'm usually very "protective" of such endeavors, but this deserves some sort of award!

    Mixing an entire song of b tempo notes, from two completely different groups of artists must have been a true nightmare. Bill McClintock not only got that done but the result is seamless and beautiful to hear. Outstanding.

      jarjon76 finally someone mentions Robbin. He was such an underrated guitarist and writer, truly the mind behind Ratt. Awesome band. Out of the cellar and invasion of your privacy we’re both fantastic albums.
