    I thought I was going to be a hex thrower for life … then I lost my perfectly seasoned hex … cried bitterly but saw through my tears a red echo I had bought and shelved a few months ago.
    When I took it out for a spin it flew exactly the same as my beloved hex … I cried again but tears of joy.
    Shortly thereafter I aced with this echo and it solidified its place in my heart and my bag.

    A disc that deserves (much) more love is the Streamline Stabilizer. I saw that Eagle bags it now and I hope that will help it out of it's "unknownness"!

    I throw mostly Detours and Manas as of late, which I would say the Mana has a very similar feel to the Echo which has been in the bag in the past for me. Buddy uses the Echo as a forehand flip up disc pretty regularly.

    I spent a morning just throwing 3-4 mid-ranges to get an idea of which ones worked better in my hands with my beginner noodle arm. For me, the Echo was not as consistent a flyer, but the Lat 64 Pearl and Remix Torpedo were easier to control and were more consistent in going where I wanted. Part of it is how they throw, part is how they feel. Being an old guy, I prefer to throw the disc that works for me more than what is in a pro's bag or on a "best" mid-range recommendations list. I'll take a look and try those discs, but it is just a starting point. That being said, in a while, if I get better, I'll pull the Echo out of my pile of discs and give it a try again. Thanks for the video.

      Been a while since I've heard someone bring up the Pearl! I agree that feel is a big deal, especially with so many options in every slot

      @@ArmoryDiscGolf I found it sitting abandoned in the used disc bins. All kinda stained and dirty. I laughed when I saw the flight numbers, but it was cheap enough to try. It's a sweet throw - almost light and delicate. Just feels good and its works when I need it.

    I'm just a newbie but my echo seems more like my resistor and gives me a different enough of a flight than my detour to use them both. I like the hand feel since I've started using it after the circuit challenge.

    Maybe a weird take, but I've never had a disc that felt so comfortable in my hand as the echo as well.

    I also love the Echo, and completely got the same view of the disc when it was new, very similar to the hex (but perhaps a rad glidier). But after a few rounds of use however, I think it broke in to the numbers it have. Now for me it is a; throw flat and let it drift out type of disc.

    • @ArmoryDiscGolf
      @ArmoryDiscGolf  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, but I WILL say- they are pretty consistent within their own family. Like the Hex flies like what I would expect from a 0,1 but the Detour is a tick less stable and the Reactor is a tick more stable, as the numbers would indicate. Etc. etc.

      @@ArmoryDiscGolfthis right here is why I would advocate for partial brand loyalty for newer players. As a brand new player, there are simply too many manufacturers with too many molds in too many plastics to reliably anticipate what a new disc will do. However, regardless of whether the flight numbers are “true”, I feel you can reliably see which disc will be more/less stable than what you currently bag based off flight numbers within a given manufacturer. Some manufacturers are more consistent than others, but I hate people that rag on others for brand loyalty.

      I've been wanting to try a Wrath. What would you compare it to?

    • @superblitz
      @superblitz 6 місяців тому +1

      @@ArmoryDiscGolf thinking of the discs I have tried. It would be close to a lighter weight Dynamic Discs evader. If comparing it to something in MVps line up, it would be a straighter Volt.
      In my experience and opinion, MVPs gyro discs are better in lighter weights (160 to 170), because with the density of the plastic they use on over mold being heavier than the core plastic, they discs are harder to get the right amount of speed and spin at heavier weights. Going lighter makes it easier.
