I have extreme survivor's guilt and depression **sick guitar solo**
I love Leo's theme tbh
Can’t forget the bongos
Welcome to PTSD the song lol
Leo Whitefang is a King of Allyria, and he earned that role. Years before the events of strive, there were wars against the gears called "The Crusades." He fought alongside Ky, Sol, and another character that's not in Strive. He was a high-ranking officer, so he had to determine what soldiers go where and lead them into battle. He was, in his eyes, a bad strategist. Many of his attacks, while successful, caused many casualties. He feels guilty about what he did and wants forgiveness, but he's a king. He has to keep a good image for the people he rules over. So, instead of seeing a therapist, he keeps fighting. He fights with berserk attacks. In the game, he even has a stance where he puts his back to you, making himself easier to kill! He wants to die, but he refuses to without a fight.
I guess you could say he's the guilty not gear
Ironically his strongest attacks are when his back is turned towards you
Illyria
The thing is though he is also so skilled of a fighter himself that despite throwing himself into each fight with reckless abandon he always ends up being a survivor in cannon he is practically a one man army and even people like Ky who is capable of standing his own against Sol (for a power scale for those who are new to GG in Xrd Sol whiffed with a Fafnir while fighting Ramlethal and took the top off a mountain) do not ever want to seriously fight Leo.
Survivor's Guilt: The Song is a banger
Heard someone describe this song as an extended panic attack
Gekkosquirrel?
@@patrickkirchner2254 ye
Not so much a panic attack and more a couple decades long battle with ptsd
Leo is canonically a man suffering from pretty severe survivors guilt who tries to bury his mind in work as a king to dull the pain, but lives each day with the constant reminders of his days as a soldier who was unable to prevent his men from dying
@@Jo_youwhatmatethose can cause panic attacks so that still stands
Leo's theme has a permanent place in my workout playlist. Something about internally screaming "HELLFIRE! HELLFIRE" while lifting is just a vibe.
13:08 Leo's twin blades can be described as greatswords that are shaped like large crosses that are wielded as long fist-weapons rather than as actual swords.
ok but can we all take a second to appreciate CloudDrop for making these banger lyric videos and also updating them when new characters come out?
They've rushed out a few with incorrect lyrics that I feel like they should fix, but otherwise they do good
@Cool Robot to be fair, that's only because youtube took their channel down so they had to fight to have their channel back
13:30 "It really reminds me of Guns & Roses' : Welcome to the Jungle"
Considering Leo's image in the community, this fits perfectly.
Unga
This song is what I like to call a "Hell Shanty"
leo got all the dark skinned women tryna get with him, truly the chadliest character
Guess all it takes is having ptsd and being am absolute egomaniac
@@liljon042 and having cool ass drip
@@liljon042 Leo isn't an egomaniac lol
@Satan but you can call me Joey I wouldn't go that far but he is a little full of himself
@@Jo_youwhatmate He presents himself as one.
There's new character coming out on 25th, so expect brand new theme around that date.
Seeing this makes me happy. Thank you.
Next up, maybe try Drift, or even Rock hard, Rock and Roll Maniac (yes that is one title)
Hi! Another great video. If you really want to go through all the Strive glory you eventually need to make a video on every track from the album Necessary Discrepancy. It contains all the character themes except second season pass dlc ones, but whats important there is some songs that arent character themes such as Smell of the Game, The Name of Heaven, Rock and Roll Rock Hard Maniac, Talk About You, bangers as every other track from this game. Glad you're enjoying this OST so far, as a person who know about some music technics you're giving a lot of interesting isights.
Overconfident, boisterous, full of himself, endlessly charismatic, very socially aware, and despite the fact he COULD back all that up, all the confidence and bravado is fake, a front put up by a man haunted by the people he's lost under his command and who feels like a fraud not worthy of his position.
HELLFIRE!!!
Dynasty warriors? I mean, Leo is kinda like a one-man army so, it checks out.
For recommended song, I'd second Drumhead pulsation.
Tho I would like to know how'd feel about "The Cat attached to the rust" and/or "Till Next Time", both from Guilty Gear.
You should definitely check out “Drift” (happy chaos’ theme) from guilty gear
((your description says alone infection))
just a heads up lol, great vid as always
Opps! Changed now! Thanks for the heads up 🙏
Surprised to hear someone hearing gnr here. All i ever get for inspirational roots is stone cold crazy. Daisuke is a huge queen fan.
Drumhead Pulsation please. It's old, but it's a banger.
The song is extremely masculine and brutish but when you listen to the lyrics they are very depressing. This is becuase the brash, brutish nature of both the character and the song is a facade. This guy is forcing himself to an almost frantic degree to be a big badass hero when he feels like anything but that.
Don’t forget about the PTSD undertones, creating that duality of fighting suicidally out of his own guilt and not going down without a fight.
You HAVE to listen to Happy Chaos’ theme “Drift.” It’s so good.
Welcome to the heavy metal panic attack
NGL the drip is AMACULENT
I don't think I spelled that right but I'm too lazy to check
Immaculate?

The fact that this absolute banger is one of my least favorite songs on the GG:S soundtrack says a lot about how amazing a soundtrack it really is. My "problem" with this one and a few others is that it's just so straightforward. In any other OST I'd be like "f**k yeah Hellfire" but in the context of GG:S I'm like "this doesn't cram 10 genres into 7 minutes, boooooo." 😂
