In this video I talk about what just may be the most important element when creating a Helix/HX Stomp preset using an amp and cab, microphone model choice and positioning. In this series I am going to do very short, concise videos on a very specific topic to hopefully help people get the most from their Helix and dial in great tones. I really hope you enjoy the video and this new series!

Wowzer! What a huge difference between them. Thank you Jason 🙏
This is fantastic and I'd highly reccommend people playing around with the different mics before purchasing IRs as you can shape YOUR tone with more tweakability and more importantly as Jason is showing us in this series - become able to Understand All aspects of our tone that would help us in the studio / live situations as well as obviously with the Helix. Excellent Video as usual Jason 🤘
I'm pretty sure Jason has mentioned before to put a Loop Block at the front of the Signal Chain, before the Amp and Cab. Record a short loop in it that represents the kind of thing you want to dial in. Then while the loop is playing, scroll through the different Mics to evaluate how they sound and adjust their Parameters to see if they will give you what you want. This will make sure your attention is undivided and you're really using your ears. This technique works with with other types of Blocks, and their Parameters.
Makes Huge difference. I do find myself going toward RIBBONS, yet times I need to change it for the source in MIX:) George
