I just made my first Chic Sparrow purchase and I'm so excited to get it. I got a pocket Creme Brulee. I'm excited to watch your One Book July so I can get an idea of how to set mine up.
Carie Harling Can you do a video or blog post on Productivity and the resources, books or other avenues that you've gotten productivity tips and ideas from? Thank you! Also I've already learned from #onebookjuly2015 that I need to write smaller...lol!!! Thank you for doing videos in between your crazy fun family schedule!
I am so excited to take part in this this year. I have been waiting for this post!!!! I journal also so the pocket size wouldn't work for me either. I am still waiting for my Chicsparrow midor but I have all my notebooks together so once it gets here I will put them in. Also, I have been watching all your videos and while I was watching them I kept thinking wow Carie looks so familiar. I thought about my YMCA class and thought maybe you were in one of my classes and then while I was listening to your videos you said something about working for a bookstore and unless you have a twin I know where I know you from, Barnes and Noble. Anyway, I love your posts and all your energy in them. Thank you for all the information.
Carie Harling I just got my Buttered Rum Mr. Darcy in Personal and my Toffee in Pocket Saturday, and I'm in LOVE!!!! I'm still deciding on which on I'll use for #onebookjuly2015 , they are just too yummy to decide. haha!
So you know what we need? A highlighter version of the Coleto. Think about it: If you had 3 base colors - yellow, pink, and blue - you could make secondary colors of orange, green, and purple. How handy would that be for color coding with "one" pen!? Plus, a 4th slot could be for black ink! Amazing!
Do you have a video on how you do your class notes? You mentioned you were doing a python course I'm really interested to see how you use your notebooks with programming! I've always kept notes for digital things in digital places would love to see how it works with paper!
Yay! Looks good. 😊 I'm doing one book July for the first time mainly because I want to go back to using a 'dori. I suddenly need a place to keep lists and notes and journaling---it must be a summer thing but I feel like I need to write EVERY thought down right now. My Erin Condren wasn't cutting it in that regard. The only thing I didn't move into my new foxydori was my bill payment system. If July goes well I'm thinking of splurging on a Chic Sparrow in August...yours always look so pretty! Two random questions: where did you get your glasses or what brand are they? 👓😍 And what's on your nails because I love it!?
Heather Schultz Book darts are page markers that slide onto the page like paper clips. The top is shaped like an arrow so it can point to the exact line you last read in a book. Unlike a bookmark, there's nothing to stick up past the pages to get caught on anything, nor will they fall out even when you drop the book. Furthermore, book darts are completely flat, so they won't dent the page at all. You can use them to mark your place on a page in whatever book you're reading, or use several to mark passages instead of highlighting. I got mine at a bookstore in Portland. Love 'em.
Purely an observation, and not meant to offend at all, but by switching to a black pen, and then using post-its (that you may have to take the time to cut in half), it seems like you're making your system more complicated. Isn't the whole goal of this challenge to make things simpler? It seems like your color-coding system works for you, and your coleto IS just one pen:) Whatever you decide, good luck with it!
I adore you for saying this!! :) Seriously, just five minutes ago, I cut two of those page flags in half and then chucked the whole idea for the very reason you mentioned... it'll over-complicate the whole thing.
Carie Harling I'd probably just cut the translucent sticky flags into blocks since I'd never be able to get the little skinny ones straight on the line - and that would drive me crazy(er). I like little check boxes anyway, so a color block at the beginning of a line as color coding + check-off would be A-OK for me! (And now I have to go try it!)
You are so right, that color is lickable!! :-D Thanks for the setup, excited to join this year!

Was hoping to do ,but just started fauxdori and wasn't sure of set up. Color coding might do me in though. Look forward to following #onebookjuly2015

I love your pen case, is that from chic Sparrow?
Hi Carry! I need to make a video about one book july too! I have 2 questions for you: do you study at a university? What do you do for a living?
Hello Carie,
I was just wondering what book darts are. Thanks.

Which pen did you decide to go with? =) I used to colour code and then tried just a black pen for a while. Never went back. ;)
Hi watched your podcast but not really seeing it are you just using one book for the month and journaling.
Keep the pens. They are expensive and multifunctional. Why change a good thing?
