Good stuff. One thing it made me think about as I was watching is that Death Magnetic is a fantastic album with a lot of great songs. One thing I was a bit surprised by, and I am not totally sure why, is that Low Man's Lyric has been played nearly as much as Hero of the Day. I would have expected Hero of the Day to have been played a lot more.
The majority of Low Man's Lyric live appearances were during the Reload tour when Metallica played an acoustic set every night which included the song. If not for that I suspect that Hero of the Day would have plays.
- They should have played Mama Said at their recent All Within My Hands charity event. - I saw them perform 2X4 the second to last time they ever performed it. January 1st 2000. - Although not a lot, I'm surprised they played Low Man's Lyric that many times. - They need to play Leper Messiah more. - I didn't realize they hardly played Don't Tread On Me and The Struggle Within - I would think some Kill 'Em All songs would rank higher since it was their first album. - Some of those covers would be interesting to see, like I'm Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage.
I think that majority of the Low Man's Lyric plays were during the Reload tour when they were doing the acoustic mini-set every night. Yes, Mama Said would have fit perfectly in the All Within My Hands set. Thanks for the feedback Mikey!
Don’t be sorry! I appreciate you watching so closely. Yes, that’s a typo. Now That We’re Dead has been played 129 times, not 121. I apologize for the error.
i can't believe they only played The Unforgiven II 6 times, it's the best Unforgiven by far in my opinion and just one of their best songs in general, same thing with Dyers Eve
Damn, they really love playing Am I Evil. Their version of it is awesome though. I knew Master of Puppets was gonna be number 1, but I honestly thought Enter Sandman would be a close number 2, not 6th. Also it's practically a crime that both To Live Is To Die and Orion have been played so few times. But for me the biggest surprise of everything on this list was that songs off Hardwired to Self Destruct have shown up in their sets so often overall, it being one of their most recent albums.
I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm assuming that the 5 songs they've played more often than Sandman are Puppets, One, Seek, Creeping Death and Bellz. Keep in mind, they toured a lot in the 80s and they played those songs for years before Sandman was even released and they've remained a staple of their setlist for their whole career. So of course they've played them more than Sandman. But that's just because they're older songs.
@Ken Smith: I might have to hire you full time as head of quality assurance. Thanks again. I knew when I was putting this together it was a lot of info, and I might have a couple of errors. You have a sharp eye!
It’s all good. I love the list, really nice work. Really cool to see which songs they play more than others and some I’ve never heard before. How did you even find all this info? Would love to see them play Orion and Ktulu more.
Thanks! All of the data this video is based on came directly from the official Metallica website. And yes, I'd also love to see the instrumentals played more live.
i think this info is wrong..well i know its wrong...as they played fixxer more then once...they played it both times i seen them live bk in 06 and 2014 in uk....also they played it in the states as i watched it on u tube other week.
All of the statistics I site are directly from Metallica’s (meticulously maintained) database of shows. I can assure you the numbers are correct. If you’d like to post the exact dates of the shows you’re referring to, I can tell you exactly what those setlists were. Fixxxer has been played exactly one time, at the 40th anniversary celebration.
@mint smofla: You haven't. That's what I'm trying to tell you. If you weren't in San Francisco, California on December 17th, 2021, you've never seen Fixxxer live. What are the dates of the shows you are talking about so I can relay to you what the set list was on each of those nights?
@@NoneMoreMetal Just Seek and Destroy alone which is probably played 100% on every concert has 1617 plays. That song has been around for around 39 years, meaning they have played it an average of 42 times per year. Do you know how many concerts Metallica has played from 1983 to 2023? Cool stats though. thanks
It’s crazy to me that Unforgiven II only got played 6 times live, that song comes on the local radio station at least once a day
I love that song 😊
For me, Unforgiven II is better than The Unforgiven, though it's a very close call.
its a tragedy that "to live is to die' doesn't get put as part of their regular live sets :(
Definitely. I’d love to see it live. Maybe with the two “no repeats” shows per city on the M72 tour it’ll happen.

@@NoneMoreMetal No problem. Awesome video! Cheers! 🍻
Sorry but I found a mistake. Pulling teeth was played 127 times then it goes to Now that were dead at 121

Fixxxer is a great song very underated.. played once!
Yup. And the crazy part is, I was there that night! Check out my video about Metallica ticket prices for the story.
I love how Last Caress is in front of freaking Ride The Lightning and Harvester of Sorrow 😂😂😂
It is a short "quick-hitter" song that, for many years, was the sole song they played from Garage Days Re-Revisited.
I wish they would play Frayed ends more
Thankyou for making this
For sure! You’re welcome. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
my left ear loved this video
I'm surprised Master of Puppets beat out Seek And Destroy. Seek And Destroy has been a concert staple since the Dave Mustaine days
Then another between phantom lord and bleeding me
And Until it sleeps is on load not reload

Any song from the Kill them All album seems pretty low.
There are three Kill 'Em All songs in the top 20: The Four Horsemen at 17th, Whiplash at 12th, and Seek and Destroy at 2nd.

@@marcoruiz8910 Seek & Destroy was rarely played in full between 1995 and 1999.
Master Of Puppets is kind of cheating because they only played half of it for many years
