    😁Just put together this flat pack! Going to start filling and sanding it tomorrow! Vinal is going on if I got enough time (or the next day) Thank you so much! I watched this video a lot and really learned from it!

    I followed your first build and it helped me complete a mini vpin build for my dad for Father’s Day. Following this one for my own basement. Thank you for taking the time to make this content!

    I've felt inspired yet intimidated by your first build. This feels more up my alley, but I know I'll always want to go back and try to do it from scratch if i go the flatpack route. You teach, and display, an eclectic mix of skills. I appreciate the work you put into these videos

      Yeah I get it, I can see how people might feel intimidated by the work as I make it look easy but it's easy to forget I have decades of tech experience. I still highly recommend building your own as it is a very cool project and lots of fun/learning to experience. Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!

    Good stuff. Before inflation hit I should've built one from scratch. Popular hardware store had full 8x8 foot sheets black melamine mdf for $17 a piece. Could've built the cab for probably $150 easily. $850 is still a bit beyond means but good for those without a tablesaw. Another tip is to hit up the pinball fairs/conventions. A flat pack company was selling kits there for $650

      Yeah covid pricing is here to stay, record profits for businesses and people can't afford to eat! Yeah it is cheaper to make your own but it's a lot of work and very accurate cutting. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!

    Great start, so much work bypassed with the melamine flat pack! Great to have these sponsors on board, I buy my stuff from them as well. My flatpack on order won't have melamine, but that looks like the way to go! I'll be sanding and painting : ). But I do have a nail gun for speed of assembly and minimal holes to patch. Looking great so far! Congrats on the new build!

    Excellent video as always! Great information. Lance & Phil are great. Glad they are getting promoted in your upcoming videos! I hope you're able to check out the PinOne encoder this time that Phil has. I love it! Definitely going back & forth on upgrading my cab with Lance's premium flat pack. The expense of getting new monitors is holding me back. I'm coming from a 3/4 size cab with 32" playfield. But looking forward to the other videos with this project. 😉

    Fantastic! I was going to follow your previous build, but had already bought a Williams wide body flatpack (From a different vendor), and a LG C3, so there were a lot of differences to compensate for. This build will match mine much more closely, and be much more useful. Timing couldn't have been better. Ready to take notes.

    I really enjoy watching your videos and have learned something new every time I watch them. I finally got my Gigabyte FV34U monitor and ready to get a flat pack. Wanted to get your opinion. How many button holes do you think are really needed? Your flat back comes with 7 minus the plunger and launch.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  4 місяці тому +1

      I would highly recommend you have a start button, extra ball, exit, launch, 2 flippers, and 2 magna save buttons. Then if you use xpadder, you can add shift functions to add more functionality with pinvol, ect. I'm glad you are enjoying the series, more to come!
      Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel.

    Great looking cabinet! Can't wait for the next bits... One question as a complete wood working n00b... why you need the straps -- don't the screws pull it in nice and tight?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  5 місяців тому +2

      Thanks! The screws do pull in the wood but only around where you screw it. So the straps and clamps help bring the entire edge into contact as the glue dries. Thanks for the watch and enjoy the series!

    Awesome start to your big budget vpin build, but noticed in the beginning there was no mention of the flat pack camlock option of builds, such as those from Gameroom Solutions. I understand these are not Williams\Bally replicas but would like to know your thoughts on these as I think alot of enthusiasts would just like to build a 3 monitor vpin at the end of yhe day at an economical price. Do you think these would be as strong as screw and glue cabinets, as a lot of the cabinets today are these, and I don't know whether the vpins get as much hard work from nudging as the pinballs of old. Would love to know your thoughts. I'm really enjoying your series, keep up the great work👍

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  5 місяців тому +1

      I'm not a fan of cam locks as they will loosen over time. Ikea furniture uses these a lot. The strongest joints are going to come from a glue joint. My personal recommendation is to build your own cabinet but if you can't a flatpack kit is the next best choice. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch! Cheers!

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  14 днів тому +1

      How much is the shipping? You could always make a cabinet from scratch, you can follow my budget build and plans for sweet ultra widebody that fits a 48" lg c3 OLED. It would be waaaaay cheaper. Good luck!

    • @Layby2k
      @Layby2k 13 днів тому

      @wayofthewrench I built one a few years ago similar to your first one, in fact your previous build helped me solve my ongoing DOF lighting problems. I decided I wanted to build another one and the cost of a US flat pack with shipping was well over $1500aud at the time. After shipping and currency conversion of the order it wasn't feasible. Shipping was several hundreds..

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  5 місяців тому +1

      I would agree with MDF boards but we'll see with this melamine as it's mostly plywood with a thin layer of MDF/melamine.
