PaperTessDesigns has a planner similar to this actually, except the weekly format is horizontal instead of vertical and there’s only 3 or 4 grid pages.
YES, this is a great idea! I'm considering PaperTessDesigns for this very reason, the monthly, weekly, and daily are all together,, The weekly format is like Hobonichi weeks. I'd prefer a vertical weekly format, but will settle for horizontal if all three sections are together!
@@cheshire_alice I am 99.9% sure I am going to order a PaperTessDesigns for 2024...I'd love to have the monthly, weekly, and daily all together, specifically as a work planner. Exciting times!
@@_Ms.L_ Haha, me too actually! PTD recently released Traveler’s Notebook planner inserts as well, with multiple weekly layouts. If you are interested in Traveler’s Notebook, that might also work for you since you can make an all-in-one setup with a monthly insert, a vertical weekly insert, and a dot grid/grid insert (I can’t remember which one she has). Of course, you’d have to purchase two weekly and dot grid inserts since I believe there are only enough pages for half a year in each notebook.
Such a fun video!!! Also, Daisy’s point about the 5-year blank page syndrome - I think that’s a really great observation! I know the blank pages has felt defeating for me. But I’ve been trying to let that go and accept that pages will just sometimes simply be blank. Thank you to everyone for sharing their set ups!
Daisy - I never got traction with monthly spreads until I started writing in what I/we eat for dinner. NOT “meal planning” - that’s a super scribbly process that happens elsewhere - but now I have two years of seeing what we actually eat for dinner as a family 😊
I've been keeping up with my Hobonichi Weeks , Cousin, and Five Year Diary. I'm retired so I have more time to keep up. I love watching each of you share your planners because I always find something new to add to my planners. So, thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much team Yoseka for pulling this video together. There was such a bounty of great ideas shared by everyone. I was hitting pause and taking copious notes (in the back pages of my Hobonichi A6 😆) while I watched. I'm definitely set for 2023, but the process of choosing 2024 planners will be here before we know it! BTW, for folks struggling with the 5-year journals, it does get easier (and more interesting!) after that first year. I'm currently on my second 5-year journal and I love looking back at prior years. The main suggestion I have is to choose a format where you don't have to write too much. A few lines giving the highlights of the day are perfect. This is one of the reasons why I've MacGyvered some A6 Stalogy 365 Editor Series Notebooks instead of picking the Hobonichi, Midori, or other "pre-printed" 5-year journal: compact format, 5 lines a day, no big blank pages staring at me. 😂Sometimes the "perfect" journal format is the one you customize yourself. Thanks again everyone!!!
Molang Diary! 😍 I used to use one but felt discouraged by my unused dates even though it’s not dated. it was really inspiring to see one used for so long 💗
What a fun video to watch! I loved seeing all the variety. I buy a Hobonichi A6 every year and never end up using it for traditional planning. But like Authen and others, I like the idea of using the pages for something I want to do daily. This year, I'm using it to pull a daily Tarot card and jot down a few notes about it. It's hard to keep up with, though, because it's best to do that in the morning and I often don't have time. But the "do a little bit every day" concept is great for the daily planners.
YOOO i have been SO looking forward to this video since the IG teasers!!! I would LOVE if this became a bi-annual video that the Yoseka team does. 1 hour or 4 hours, this is the type of content I will watch and re-watch over and over
@@heathergleiser Im glad we think the same!! Also HELLO!! You’ve absolutely probably seen me commenting in Pencast videos 🤣🤣🤣 Fancy running into you here 😉❤️

@@justusspace Hobonichi Cousin in the Saul Leiter Footprints cover from 2021. Switching to Day-Free next year but still keeping the A5. I got into them after Leuchtturm discontinued their page-a-day journal.
This is for May: Could it be an idea to consider the weekly Jibun Techo with an added IDEA book for journaling? You'd get the monthly, the weekly vertical and free space to journal without adding the bulk of the Hobonichi Cousin. I'd even argue that you needn't let go of your TN with this option. Just a thought! Loved watching this - as you start with: it's so much fun looking at other people's planners.
Love seeing all the opotions and creative ways of using them. Authan, though. My goodness, what incredible art! Does Yoseka carry his Visual Life Diary? I have not seen that one before. Would love to order for 2024... Thanks for the enthusiasm and inspiration!
Not sure if anyone suggested this already to May but to keep her Sketchbook and sticker release book in her A5 Hobonichi cover similarly to how Ashley holds her sticker release paper book and password book in her A6 Techo cover. At least until she completes her sketch book. 🤓
Ashley’s social weeks inspired me to do a version for myself and it’s definitely my most used book in my lineup! Re: 5Y I think the first year was the hardest, I did have a running note in my phone where I took notes when I felt lazy to write in the 5Y so I could catch up on it when I had downtime.
Such a fun video! I love filling in my hobonichi but if I miss a day I make a point to take a picture(s) during the day so I can go back and recall what happened that day. This works really well for me xxx
Me and Ashley both. I went from decorating every page in my A5 Hobonichi to filling it with lists and maybe a sticker or two if I remember. 😅 Switching to the Day-Free next year so I don’t feel bad if I miss pages while on vacation or if I’m sick.
LOVE!!!!! my planner is my favourite stationery item, I use 3 every year. I only do functional planning and tracking, nothing pretty. I am all JIBUN Techo Biz and DAYS now, with Frixion pens. Best video of the year, thank you!
I love Authan's planners!! ❤ Those human anatomy illustrations are super amazing. 💯 I also really like the visual life planner. I'm getting a Midori+ Stand Diary for next year. It has Gantt chart pages in it, and I hope to use those pages the way Authan uses his visual life planner's pages right now.
Absolutely 100% agree with the Hobo Weeks!! It's so nice to see candid planners and journals! I LOVE how Ashley's weeks is coming out esp using headers for each outing is so helpful. Really love how May repurposed her TN weekly+memo to a vertical style, I might want to try that some day!!! I can already hear Amy's giddiness for the Yoseka planner sampler AND I AM TOO *wink* very excited for a new yoseka project!!! Welcome to Leo (yay passport TN!!) and Susan 🥰 YAY
I am still loving the Midori gradation weekly diary that I got from you guys! I've been using it as a little daily family log, and it is so beautiful and easy to decorate. I am so hoping that you will be getting it again for 2024!
I love love looooved the planner video at the beginning of the year, I'm so happy we get another mid-year video! So inspiring to see how different people who all love stationery use their planners! I used the Take a Note last year and was quite productive and inspired using it. Maybe I'll go back to it next year!
This video is great showing the difference between peoples way off planning and how they use them other than planning and I’ve found out about other ones ❤
1) As Daisy mentioned, I actually do jot down quick "sloppy" notes about what I did during the day in my Hobonichi and then I write it up later in my archival Leuchtturm1917 journal. I was inspired by Daisy's baby diary in the Hobonichi Weeks from the last planner video. I have a friend who is expecting a baby and mentioned that she wanted to journal about being pregnant and having a baby. So I gifted her the exact same 365 Days Hobonichi Weeks in English that Daisy has. 2) I had the same thought as May, that I could put use a Hobonichi Cousin for everything (monthly, weekly, daily). I got a July-Dec Hobonichi Avec, so I will be trying that once July 1st comes around. 3) Like Amy, I also got the Hobonichi weekly supplement to try out and I hardly use it. The space to write is very tiny, I agree. I'm hoping the larger weekly space in the Hobonichi Cousin will be easier to use. 4) Nice to meet new members of the team, Leo and Susan. 5) Thanks again for another great planner video! It inspires me to work harder on my own planner and journal.
Thank you for this amazing video to show how we are all so unique and 1 planner doesn’t fit all . Very inspiring as I contemplate 2024 set up :) I would love to have an all in one like the cousin ( planner/art journal) but may need to keep weeks for daily carry and have the cousin replace my a6 techno on my home desk just so I can lay more color down when I’m art journaling.
To Leo: I've been to MoCCA Fest before and agree it's one of the best events I've been to. I don't like the big comics publishers (Marvel, DC) or American superhero comics. I've enjoyed learning about indie comics and comics from other countries at MoCCA Fest. It was there that I stopped by the Drawn & Quarterly table and learned about "A Drifting Life" which is one of my all-time favorite manga graphic novels. It's been years since I've attended MoCCA Fest. You've reminded me that I should go again.
Thank you for making this video, I truly enjoyed watching it and maybe this can be a yearly thing as its very inspiring to see how people use their planners; and yes I took down notes 😅
Might I suggest using your calendar bit in your hobo for birthdays and important yearly events wedding anniversary , holidays , gift buying , ink swatch, events, medical appointments, money things, UA-cam or other social media o color coordinate your dots and its really fun :)
33:03 Authan’s planner is amazing and would work so well for anyone that is in tech/does sprint planning. I would love to use this planner but no idea where to find it.
I think the hobonichi cousin would really benefit if a day took up 2 pages instead of 1 but thats just me being greedy but I think it would be the perfect amount :)
Is it cheating to backlog in the 5 year? There’s only one day I couldn’t remember at all what happened within the week and left blank. Also, watching this, I might swap my planner and 5 year completely. I plan and write my gratitude in my cousins and journal in the 5 year. But I run out of space all the time in the 5 year and have nothing to plan in hobonichi
