I'll sail on the Discovery Princess this October 2024 and booked a balcony stateroom. I took every opportunity I had to mention at the travel agency that I did not want an obstructed room. Got a category BF stateroom, so I pray, pray, pray that I don't get an obstructed room.
We will be on there for July 3rd Alaska Cruise. Can't wait

You can book for 1 person but will be charged for 2, less port charges, etc. for 2nd person. I too am considering and selecting an interior mid ship cabin. Never cruised alone but feel Princess is secure and safe and offers excursions from the ship.

It's been 3 months, how was the cruise, I am booking one now, for August and would like to hear how the cruise ship was.
@@jenniefoppe9900 It was absolutely wonderful. The Discovery Princess is an absolute beautiful ship. Went on a West Coast Getaway cruise and it just felt wonderful. It was during Christmas time that I went. If I had to give advice. If you can, try to book at least a Club Class Suite(Reserve Collection) or higher just in case. If you don't, that's okay as well. Less crowds in certain areas, the Dinner room has at least one special dish for Reserve Collection guests. If you do want a quick bite, the International Cafe is the best place, cause it's open 24 hours.
I was able to find a spot on the Lido deck every time, cause I didn't see any chairs reserved where I was there. I didn't liked that they made they took away most benefits Princess Standard had and made it strictly for Plus/Premier guests. I did Princess Plus, and it was fine. Choose the fare that fits your budget, Standard, Plus, or Premier.
All in all, the ship is beautiful and the inside is just as elegant. Hope you have fun on your cruise, it'll be worth it.

It isn't up to the Cruise line, it is still required by the CDC as long as the ships and lines participate in the voluntary program. Which, by the way, may not be so 'voluntary' should a line decide NOT to participate. The CDC is using all of this as leverage to gain compliance and the lines are playing along so they can provide us with our cruise fix.

Does Discovery Princess have a DJ nightclub inside NOT outdoors? Majestic does NOT have a normal indoor DJ nightclub
Rob, the Discovery Princess has a nightclub at Take Five. This changes into a nightclub after the Jazz music has ended. This is indoors on deck 6.

Just came back from the 3-27 Discovery. We disappointed.. boring cruise. Food is bad, cutting to the bone. Dancing will be in the Hallway only. Disco is OK but really bad music. Cannot find music at all. Guest performance is also bad. Booking for dinner is a pain every night even though it is only 60% full. As Elite, you have nothing to do or watch at all. No more free internet. The app does not work. My Balcony room has been reduced by 2 ft in length and 3 feet in width. Only 1 chair with no where to seat, no sofa any more. Crew are not trained yet and running around like chicken without heads. NO RECOMMENDED.

YES, exactly what cruising is....eating, drinking, shopping, relaxing, being entertained all while never leaving your "hotel".
Yes, Lenora! It's the whole point. You're eating, drinking, relaxing, enjoying, shopping, watching movies, paying casino games, dancing, etc. It's better than a hotel in my opinion. Hope to board this ship someday.
