I just bought 12 of these a few weeks ago for our church. I absolutely love them. They are out punching our old elation design spot 575 fixtures. They are kind of a hybrid wash and beam fixture which is a lot of fun. Price is unbeatable.
Convinced the theater company I design lights for to buy 7 of these and theyre great. There is no light on the market besides these that are this small, can do a gobo like breakup effect, and color mix. Any other light with gobos is a color wheel and any other light with mixing doesnt have the gobo effect. Very happy with them. The church I design lights for may also start buying several of these instead of more Chauvet R2s. The only con ive found is as it dims out the color will become more saturated so as far as front lighting where color accuracy matters id still use the pro brand units.
Great review. This is a bit different type of light than the zoom, wash fixtures you mentioned. It is a bee eye. Cool effect. This is a nice little unit for the price. Other similar units (bee eye) offer more led macro options with each of the 7x40 leds being able to be different. Also just as a warning do not hang this one vertically as it will grind.
Saw these a few months ago on AliExpress and knew that the Western-Chinese brands would be all over them within a few months 👍 Bit like the Chauvet BeamWash or Robe Beam 150 but with Bee-Eye lenses
Just outfitted my theater with the Boulder lights based on your recommendation and great experiences. Can't wait to have a reason to compliment our rig with a few of these for the rotating gobo effect. Still feels more like an effect light than a wash though.
Hi. New to your channel. Really enjoy your videos. I am kind of new to the lighting area in our church. We have been kind of left on our own to figure out what has been done. The person who installed the lights used Qlight+ as the program. Can you give any advice on this program or offer advice on a program that would be easy to use and setup for volunteer use ?? Appreciate any input and help …
at the very beginning of this video you can see the two we have set to the wide beam thing but then just slow circling ua-cam.com/video/uAzTc-6zxOk/v-deo.html , so ya you can do that. The movement of the lens is smooth but the kaleidoscope from wide to narrow can be a bit quick if you have it on one of the preset modes.
I was really hoping to buy some of the Boulder 19x15 Variable White fixtures, but they are no longer available. I don't really need the RGB, just W. Is the W on these lights variable?
I tried downloading the profile for the Betopper but when I try uploading it to the profile builder, it won’t let me upload it due to it being an unknown file. Can you help me, I greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Rayland I usually trust your reviews, so I picked up a couple of these to try out and I am so disappointed! These things are garbage. They are not nearly as bright as they should be at 7x40 and the dmx control does not work right. Having to keep the stobe open so it emmits light is a pain. I can't hit the right spot either mine still flash on and off very slowly, no matter where I set the dmx for strobe in the "open" range. Also the colors won't hold, it's slowly cycling through colors even though all of the other dmx values are at 0, I'm suing a good dmx controller, chamsys quickq but having terrible luck with them. I bought them becuase of the recommendation of this video but that was a mistake! I can't get ahold of betopper to return them.
@@RylandRussell seems to be defective fans causing the issue. After powering on the fans completely then off and the light gets super hot. They are overheating and causing the green leds to stop working. They are letting me return them for a full refund.

Hey that's some great real world experience. Thanks for sharing!
How are the fans in these units?
You save me so much money with your recommendations. Thanks Ryland.

Thanks for the info! I've seen these around for a long time but didn't know the effect was called bee eye. Makes sense!
Really enjoy these light reviews. Looking to get our first lights for our church in the coming weeks. Your reviews and suggestions have been helpful.
Thank you so much for doing these reviews! Saves us a lot of time and consideration!
been rocking with betopper for awhile... this is sick

Nice! Ya the great thing about these is that it can beam/wash OR do the prism effect. Not as washy as the boulders though.
Can you use the focus so the the individual squares or diodes don't show up? Sort of like a soft wash..
Yes if you aren’t zoomed all the way in it’s soft and more round.

Hey welcome! Im sorry I’m not familiar with Qlight. It seems like most beginners really like LightKey
Any idea if there’s a profile for Lightkey?
It doesn't look like it yet, but you can request them to add it here lightkeyapp.com/en/fixtures
2 questions:
~ can you "index" the lens to a certain postion like multibeams tight/med/wide?
~ the slow movement of the lens, is it pretty smooth?

Thanks for this review! But it’s not Jands Vista anymore. It’s Chroma Q Vista. Jands sold Vista to Chroma Q a few years ago.
True. Old habits die hard.
does anyone happen to have the profile for this light for grandma3
im struggling : (

I can check and see when more will be in stock.
@@RylandRussell That would be great! I have the budget to buy 4.
@@lp.church8600 they will be back in stock mid April it looks like.
how am I able to get the rotating effect? I downloaded the profile but only have color options/pan tilt/ intensity.
If you are using vista it’s in one of the other sections. Maybe gobo maybe the last heading. Miscellaneous?

$400? Too much for my budget but thanks for the video. Maybe if I hit the lottery I'll scoop up 2 of em!
What dmx console or software are you using?
Vista with m1 (mv old version) www.vistabychromaq.com
Clay Paky Mini B 7x40 watts ❤🎉😅
much better

Weird! Mine are working well. Hate to hear that. I know it’s a holiday in china currently but I hope they can get it sorted out for you.
