Can I just say how stoked I was when I saw “extended” on the title and then 2:29:06 on the length… it was this wonderful sense of nostalgia and excitement, especially knowing it would be covering Alma the younger’s conversion. Thank you Brother Halverson for all your time and dedication. The Spirit that comes from your words strengthen me each day.

The greatest blessing is forgiveness since in this life we can never be perfect, and as long as we remain humble, we can repent

"Believe in a generous God, and that's what you'll have." I KNOW that this is true. I bear my wholehearted testimony in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for those words.

Thank you Bro Halverson. I feel spiritually busted and recharged. I always take away so many great and wonderful thoughts and feelings. I am so grateful and thankful for Savior and Father that love me enough to forgive me every time I sin. It must be exhausting for them but I truly know they will never give up on me and will always be there for me. Thanks again

The intricacies of the work of the Lord are really plentiful, varied, diverse, and precise as is required towards a comprehensive understanding that will help refine, change, shape, & become polished towards the full measure of our creation- unto the measure of the stature of Christ like unto a perfect man!
    Thank u very much!

22:10 Also, those priests of Noah stole food and animals from their families (in addition to abandoning them). For me, I always cry when king Mosiah Ben Benjamin and Alma the Elder die - no matter how often I read of their passing.

Jared, I have often wondered why we dont seem to care as much about our seed or our "bretheren" of future generations at all as much as the writers of BOM do...Especially not to the point of tears (when contemplating their captivity or destruction) and it makes me wonder why? So glad you bring up this point, it validates the things Im thinking about and also the experience im having as a person born in this generation. I am grieved about the fact that we have come so far from the sense of connection we should be having with each other as human beings, and especially family members! I think that the more we say yes to tech. And no to each other, the worse this will get and I am on a mission to influence people away from computers and back toward each other before the Savior returns...but thanks for your refreshing perspective, its good to know that someone else thinks that we should be thinking about these things. 🙏🙂✌️

Honest question: could it be possible that Limhi was too young to join Alma in the beginning?
Is it possible that the Lord placed him in a position for, "such a time as this" so that it was less of a regretful situation for him personally and more of the Lord putting him where he needed to be when it was time for him to lead?
Do we know how old he was?

I think that there were those children of Amulon and his "priestly" brethren who were abandoned after their flight with Noah... but also some children who fled with Alma after Amulon became their ruler who's mothers were the Lamanite daughters.

Relating to your video at about 2:23:21, is not the Lord promising King Mosiah that (as a consequence of a mission to the Lamanites) his four sons would be exalted ("eternal life")? Is not this promise a calling and election made sure? If not this, I wonder why the Lord would be promising the sons of Mosiah just general salvation. Will not all who do not commit the unpardonable sin be saved (receive salvation)?
I balk at the general use of the words "salvation" and "eternal life/exaltation" as exact synonyms. They are not interchangeable words. Salvation means an inheritance in any kingdom of glory. Exaltation means an inheritance in the highest degree of the celestial kingdom. I also do not think that every -- or almost every -- time the words "saved" or "salvation" are used in the scriptures they mean "exaltation". Elder Bruce R. McConkie apparently believed that. I do not.
If all who do not commit the unpardonable sin are "saved" in a kingdom of glory, why are the sons of Mosiah so anxious to try and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Lamanites? Aren't the Lamanites already saved (in at least the telestial kingdom) anyway -- since very few will commit the unpardonable sin? Another way of asking the same thing: if obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ is not required for salvation in any kingdom of glory, why the great anxiety over the Lamanites?

I know what you mean, and there's some truth there, but the difference is the exercise of agency. An 8-year-old can choose, a newborn cannot.
