I am so thankful for "Unshaken Saints". I have gained a better understanding of the scriptures. Brother Halverson brings the scriptures to life for me. I love the extended versions of the podcasts.

You are doing a great job of teaching the political lessons that mosiah and Alma are teaching us right now without mentioning our current conditions . That takes real self discipline. Good job. Always enjoy your lessons and grow in understanding the subject matter more

Glad u found ur path in life that u r enthusiastic with (Enthusio = God w/in)!
I tried your path as a 3rd option as after my mission byu baseball ⚾️ wasn’t for me as I didn’t even see a game for two years on my mission.
I was then near getting into the f16 fight program w/ usaf yet my eye sight slipped from 2 to 3 diopters around the desert storm era .
Life has has many twists & turns like Pres Hinckley said “ like a long train 🚂 ride.”
My fiancée suddenly passed away last month & so very heart breaking.
I am used to disappointment my patriarchal blessing warned of many trials diverse in their nature & then to counsel w/ the Lord to help me resolve them.
Life is pretty well where sorrows out number our joys ; yet, when all else fails perseverance prevails to where eventually our joys might someday outweigh our sorrows !
I instructed seminary at Provo UT while attending the Y yet was fired as they said I was too serious !
Pres Joseph Fielding Smith taught me , as a 10 yr old boy, that the gospel was serious business!

It occurs to me that Mosiah has just finished reading the record of Ether as he warns the people against opening the position of king to conflicting claims.

More likely mixed with existing population of darker skin which is why the Lamanite always outnumbered the Nephites more than 3:1.

Thanks, Jared, (brother Halvorsen) for your keen insights into Mosiah 29 through Alma 4.
I haven't followed you in a couple of years. However, you do yourself and your viewers a great disservice by promoting the false Mesoamerican model using that goofy Chichen Itza pyramid (built 800-1200 AD) and Aztec and Mayan war clubs and spears embedded with obsidian blades (Macuahuitl) on many of your slides. You and I and everyone in the church have been immersed in the Mesoamerican model since the 1950s when Thomas Stewart Ferguson got $250K from President McKay to go to Central America and find evidence for the Book of Mormon. He never found any, and he lost his testimony.
There are over 200 models of geography (Malaysia, Baja California, Ecuador, Peru, Delaware, Africa, 2 counties in western New York, heartland, and Mesoamerica). I never heard of other models than the dominate Mesoamerican model until about 2016. At about this time, I learned of the heartland model (Adena=Jaredites and Hopewell=Nephites). It makes so much more sense. I don't blame you for selecting questionable art to illustrate your slides. Artists painted what they were taught, and they were taught wrong.
The church claims to be neutral on geography, but allows and encourages appendages (church magazines, Book of Mormon Central, Meridian Magazine, BYU, Maxwell Institute, Interpreter Foundation, etc.) of the church to promote the Mesoamerican model in the Come Follow Me Book of Mormon 2020/2024 manuals. Over 1/3 of the artwork promotes the Mesoamerican model. This egregious behavior is NOT neutrality. That is sickening to me because the events of the Book of Mormon happened in ancient America, a land choice above all other lands. Elder L. Tom Perry made it very clear in 2012. He stated, "The United States is the promised land foretold in the Book of Mormon-a place where divine guidance directed inspired men to create the conditions necessary for the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ."
It's time to break away from the Mesomania tractor beam and the BYU fantasy map and gain greater insights and understandings of the events of the Book of Mormon. You touched lightly on Alma 2-3. We know from D&C 125:3 that Zarahemla was located across the river Sidon from Nauvoo. We've found the Temple and about 10 miles of the wall around the city. Yes, the same wall where Samuel the Lamanite preached from. We know where the armies of Alma and Amlici crossed the river Sidon (Mississippi) between Nauvoo and Keokuk. Robert E. Lee surveyed this area between Keokuk and Montrose/Nauvoo in 1837. We've discovered thousands of ancient fire pits around Montrose and carbon dated a clam shell to 225 BC.
