METRO CENTER STATION
If you're planning to travel to Washington DC Union Station (WAS), transfer to the Metrorail Red Line to Glenmont or Silver Spring. Amtrak (Acela, Northeast Corridor or other intercity rail lines) and MARC is located in Union Station. Transfer is free and the Red Line is located upstairs of the Silver/Blue/Orange Line platform.
TRAVELING TO RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT (DCA):
Exit Rosslyn Station and transfer to the Metrorail Blue Line (Franconia-Springfield or Huntington). There is no cost to transfer to Blue Line.

From a New Yorker, DC metro looks like something from Europe compared to our Subway system.
Kind of, but it feels more like SF BART and Atlanta MARTA.
I wish more cities had a DC style system. The Atlanta MaRTa is very similar though nowhere as expansive as DC. The stations due to their unique architecture are easy to maintain, nice wide platforms and the automated system give plenty of space for passengers to board easily. Their fare system is amazing and since this Fall service has been pretty great. The 8000 cars of the future will also look nice.

what station does one depart from to see the Air and Space hangers at IAD? Is there a shuttle that takes you to the entrance of the Museum?

Ever since the Metro opened phase 2 of the Silver Line, they've been copying the Chicago L in terms of serving both domestic and international airports (Midway and O'Hare respectively).
Metro has had the blue and yellow line trains going out to National Airport for decades. Phase 2 you said?😂

This Washington DC metro Transit stations are great for me because I refuse to drive a car 🚗 due to crazed drivers license 🪪😤 and others who are not participating at all the disgusting things about me since I choosing to ride the bike 🚲🚳 and buses and light rail trains and subway to and from here to NJ and NYC and others states that have public transit buses and light rail trains and subway in the states of USA.
In Minnesota light rail 🚈 TRAINS are great for us all disabled and non disabled people ans services animals can be used for the disabled or other children who are disabled ♿ people can be able access to the top of a list of sites to use.
