The Volkswagen company presented the Volkswagen Passat B9 2024 model. Now there is no sedan in the line, buyers are offered only in the station wagon body, since the Passat in the sedan body has officially left production.
The 2024 Passat Variant is introduced with an updated base (MQB Evo), which is also used in the next-generation Tiguan and Golf Mk8. The new 2024 VW Passat B9 is significantly larger than the old European-spec B8. Its length is now 4,917 millimeters, making it 144 millimeters longer than before. The width increased by 20 millimeters to 1852 millimeters. And the height has practically not changed and is 1506 millimeters. As for the wheelbase, it was increased by 50 mm to 2841 millimeters.
The design of the new Volkswagen Passat has changed a lot. The front now features a large air intake, and an LED strip sits between the headlights. The headlights of the new Passat B9 are also new matrix, which Volkswagen aligns with the design of its electric ID models. The recently spotted ID.7 Variant without any camouflage looks a bit more futuristic, but the similarities are easy to spot.
Wheels up to 19 inches will be available to buyers.
Narrow lights are installed at the back. They are combined into one block and have a stylish design.
The appearance will depend on the configuration: Passat Business, Passat Elegance and Passat R-Line.
The interior is completely different from the Passat B8 as VW has done away with most of the switchgear.
Access to almost all available functions is provided from the touch screen, which will be a generous 12.9 inches even in the base model. For an additional fee, the infotainment system can be increased to 15 inches. A fully digital 10.25-inch instrument panel is standard, so the German brand says goodbye to the good old analog dials that were offered on the previous Passat.
By moving the gear selector to the steering column, engineers were able to free up space between the seats for additional cargo capacity, just like on the ID.7. Another nod to the electric sedan is a new switch on the left side to control the turn signals and wipers. Comfort in the front can be improved if you choose new heated, ventilated and massage seats with 14-way electric adjustment.
This jump in size has not only increased legroom, but boot capacity by 40 liters to 690L with the rear seats up. Fold the seats down and the volume jumps to 1,920 litres, or a whopping 140 liters more than the previous #passat

Front looks way better and more premium on older b8 model 😢 They should use older design in the front and just added light line at the top.

The B8 was a beautiful car perfectly balanced and with premium pres and finishing. That B9 is like a bulky, fat long whale with btw dated rims. Only interior is sort of modern. Disappointed as we can see VW will quit thermics for good...

Don't like the rounded design of the new one. Straight lines was what I liked on VW. The new one could as well be a Toyota.
It's wath we need if we want a family car, ergonomic, good materials,very little sporting.
I hope they have solved the problem with the body rust, because B6, b7 and b8 have big problems with rust and paint quality
