Heated windscreen? It is not available on GTE, perhaps because you can preheat the cabin using the heater when you are connected to electricity or the heater running on petrol when not connected to electricity.
It depends very much on the speed you drive and the outside temperature. If, for example, you drive on the motorway at 120 km/h and it is in the winter when the cabin is also heated, you will perhaps reach 25 to 28 kilometres. If you keep a lower speed and it's in the summer, you'll get maybe 35 to 40 kilometres. The later models after 2019 have a larger battery and then you will go somewhat longer.
@Limito10 how many km has it driven? I am also planning to buy a used one and I'm curious what would be the range if it has driven e.g. 150 000km. Were there any problems with the car for you or for the previous owner? I mean if there was anything more expensive changed? What is your average el. consumption (kWh/100km) in the city and outside the city? I would be driving a straight road to the city where 90km/h is allowed and then a bit in the city, so I think 40km would be enough. Is the charging time really 5 hours? If i drove twice a day to the city I wonder if I will be able to charge it twice with 230V charger. I don't want to use the fast charger.
My car has gone about 70,000 km but I do not think that the battery is affected much by either age or mileage. I have not had to change anything in addition to normal wear parts such as brakes and tires. I do not think previous owners had to change anything more expensive either. Electricity consumption depends largely on how fast you drive and outdoor temperature. The most optimal is if it is around 20°C so that you do not need to heat or cool the cabin and drive around 70-80 km/h. Then the consumption can go down to 1.7 kWh/100 km, but if you drive on the motorway in winter, the consumption increases to about 2.8 kwh/100 km. A petrol or diesel car consumes more when you drive in the city compared to a country road, while with an electric car it is the opposite. You can not charge more than 2,000 W with a 10 A fuse and then it takes about 5 hours to charge 10 kWh. I do not think you can manage to drive all 40 km completely on electricity if not all conditions with temperature and speed are completely optimal and barely even. In that case, I would have opted for a model year 2019 or newer that has a slightly larger battery of 13 kWh. But it's not the whole world if you have to drive the last kilometers on petrol either, maybe?
@@Limito10 the newer ones are out of my budget. Sure it is not a problem if I drive a while on petrol, but I want to know if it makes sense to me to buy it. Otherwise I have a 2.0TSI, which consumes about 6.5l/100km. So I am thinking whether it makes sense to me to change it. If you say in optimal circumstances it takes only 17kWh/100km, then with the 10kWh battery it could make 40 even 50km, or not? I'd drive to city at 80-90km/h and in the city it depends on traffic. On motorway I wouldn't expect it to drive purely on el.
@@igor256 I think only 8.8 kWh is used of the battery so you will never get 50 km and probably not 40 km either. I think you can count on an average of 35 km range. But even when you drive on petrol it uses the energy and charges the battery when you brake etc. and together with the fact that this is only a 1.4 liter engine, it probably comes down somewhat in consumption compared to your 2.0 TSI. I drive it quite easily at 5.5 l/100 km on petrol only and yesterday I was down to 4.7 l/100 km. I do not know the cost of petrol and electricity where you live but here in Sweden you can estimate if you are running on petrol the cost will be: 0.55 l/10km x 2.3 EUR/l = 1.3 EUR/10 km and on electricity: 2.8 kWh/10km x 0.11 EUR/kWh = 0.3 EUR/10 km so you save 1 EUR every 10 km you can run on electricity.
@@Limito10 today we have petrol for 1.9EUR/l and electricity 0,20EUR/1kWh (probably less with higher consumption). 1.4l is probably more efficient, but the empty car weighs 1700kg vs. mine 1500kg. Still not bad. If some good deal comes up, I will buy it probably. You're right 8.8kWh is used. The new model has 13kWh and uses 10kWh. Thanks for your comments.

There is no back seat heating ;) - but must be for full options ;)
Only issues I have had are the seat base collapsing from the last owner and the boot latch failing to lock both have had to be replaced. Also have a spot of rust on my boot edge and my radio sometimes when you get in and turn on the ignition puts a loud blast of static/digital noise through the speakers.
@@igor256 if you drive the hybrid on mixed conditions you can get 4-4.5l/100km.
What color is the paint?
It is Indium grey metallic, R7H.
I dont know if thats option on GTE
But things that are missing are
Ventilated seats
Heated windscreen
IR windscreen
Heated steering wheel (which you mentioned that that wasn't option on GTE.)
Also Highlights equipment .
But overall good looking passat.
How many km can you drive on fully electric ?
Cheers
It depends very much on the speed you drive and the outside temperature. If, for example, you drive on the motorway at 120 km/h and it is in the winter when the cabin is also heated, you will perhaps reach 25 to 28 kilometres. If you keep a lower speed and it's in the summer, you'll get maybe 35 to 40 kilometres.
The later models after 2019 have a larger battery and then you will go somewhat longer.
There is no back seat heating ;) - but must be for full options ;)
I had to go back and check but could not find that back seat heating was an available option on GTE MY2017 in Sweden. Please correct if I am wrong?
@@Limito10 maybe GTE didnt have this option
@ Maybe, but it sounds wierd
Does audi have a similar car? So a hybrid
I think Audi has some hybrids nowdays. Audi A3, Q3, Q5, A6, A7, Q7, Q8
Please check your video. There is no sound and no narration.
i think he want it by only text ;)
There is sound but I'm too shy to talk myself!
Is it reliable?
I haven't had any problems whatsoever.
@@Limito10 nice
Only issues I have had are the seat base collapsing from the last owner and the boot latch failing to lock both have had to be replaced. Also have a spot of rust on my boot edge and my radio sometimes when you get in and turn on the ignition puts a loud blast of static/digital noise through the speakers. Oh and also the volume control on the radio is slightly useless as when it gets old it goes all over the place (bad quality rotary encoder at a guess) mine is a 2016 get 190 TDI.
One thing is missing that my Passat b8 have. The heated steering wheel. 😉
Heated steering wheel was no available option on GTE, unfortunately.
@@Limito10 OK. I didn't know that.
And heated rear seats. But still, great car. Congrats
@@mariuscociuba Heated rear seats were also not an available option on the GTE, unfortunately. Seems that all electric driven heating options were cancelled on the GTE. 😞
full leather seats with front seat ventilation, wooden trim panels
This car has seat trim cover in Alcantara/leather Vienna and interior trim panels in aluminium.
Is this the r line ?
R-line is not an option on GTE. The back looks like on the R-line but the front with led C-lights is unique to GTE.
NO DCC/ Predictive ACC / Rear Heating Seats / Acustic Windows. Still have alot of bells and whistles 👍
Predictive ACC was definitely not an available option in 2017 but I have installed it afterwards. See here ua-cam.com/video/OJPy7gkTQyU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Limito10. Rear Heating seats was not available on GTE. It has Acoustic windows. It was standard on GTE. No DCC correct.
@@Limito10 sorry skipped that video, pacc is an awesome feature.
I didn't know that acoustic window was standard feature. You should definetly run a small video for that feature. I have recently ordered and have them installed, what a difference!
You can have dcc feature, it may cost you around 2K €. For a fast car like this, it should make difference.
Great car anyways 🥰
video muito bom
Hi if you don't mind me asking what country are you from?
I'm from Sweden.
@@Limito10 I love the car im from the US and I have a 2017 us spec passat and its like night and day different
@@mrchris7277 From what I understand it is a very different model in the US. Its interior is more like the European B7 model, right?
@@Limito10 it is, its actually built in the US my profile pic is my car, its a very good car though
@@Limito10 its really interesting to compare the two to see the differences
Greqt optioned car,but what about front ventilated seats and rear Heated Seats?Did you specificaly not order them or it wasnt available...My B8 has Acoustic Glass,Heated Windscreen,Cooled and heated Front seats,Rear heated seats, auxhillay heater, but no Heated Steering wheel. I Bought mine used with only 30.000km and i was wondering why the Previous Owner didn't also upgrade to a Heated Steering Wheel since he upgraded basiclly everything else that can be cooled or Heated?Do you have any information about this since you bought yours New?Im very interested to hear. Also, you inspired me to get a GTE front Bumper For My B8,Mine is a Highline so it just has the basic front Bumper.
Thank you! My car has acoustic glass. It was standard on GTE. Heated steering wheel, heated rear seat, heated windscreen was not a possible option on GTE. I think VW may have limited the high energy consumption options on the hybrid? Good luck if you go to upgrade your front bumper.
Är det dags att byta snart? Kanske till salu? =)
How much did that cost? And how far does the battery go during nice weather?
I did not buy it new. Around 40 km. Shorter during winter time.
@@Limito10 thank you
No ventilated front seats
Not available for GTE model year 2017, at least not in Sweden.
I see your GTE has a pre-heater. Is that a real pre-heater (standheizung) or is it pre-heating through the battery? All the GTE's here pre-heat through the battery while charging up.
How many things do you have on the car which you dont use on a daily base, since its fully equippped. :D
When the car is connected to electricity, I can heat the car in advance using the We Connect app, but I can also heat the car with the pre-heater that runs on petrol when the car is not connected to electricity.
I actually think I use most of the features and each one is good in its own way. No, I never use the seat massage. Have probably never ever tested it except when I made the video. :-)
@@Limito10 I see... So you have both, nice.
My Passat B8 2.0TDI isnt as equipped as yours, but I literaly use everything everytime I drive.
Cat got your tongue??
English is not my native language and I'm too shy to speak it in a youtube video. :-)
Oh and I don't like the sat nav, and how it's top down display functions , Google maps are the best , I,ll be honest I don't use vw sat nav also with the vw service on a few things you have to pay to use them , nope not doing that .
A lot of sensors for experienced drivers you don't need, there just selling gimmicks .
ALL you need is parking sensors, and no rush attitude when reversing .
Another thing for me, i don't like electric seats as I never use them if at all
And the radar can slow the vehicle down with auto braking for no reason, ie railings side of road on say 50 mph road , also don't need side mirror warning of cars on approach
There's for me I don't need them or use them
One thing I hate is auto stop , just annoying,
Endlich mal ein richtiges Auto in Schweden was? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
