Wow its got my juices flowing hearing that and he is barely rapping the throttle and it just wants to take off by standing up, sliding out. Got a ride in the 80's a friends brand new one and had it open on the Appalacian trail. Got the highspeed wobbles on it and kept seeing one side of trees and then the other. Didn't think I was getting out of it but will never forget the raw power of an older 2 stroke 500.
Reminds me of my old '82 Yamaha IT-465. That bike took no prisoners including...the riders. You had to know your stuff but what a thrill to ride. BRRRAAP-BRAAAaaaaAAAAP!!!
@@ArmathuX I believe that the IT-490's were not as good as the 465's. They suffered from pre-ignition issues, due to a slightly higher compression ratio. The cheap way around that was to double-up on the head-gasket, which essentially off-set the positives of larger displacement. ---------------------------------- One of my favoritest bikes was my old '80 KDX-250. I street-legalized it with the addition of a horn. I got into so much trouble with that bike. Knew most of the cops around -lol.
Loved watching this, that noise will forever remind me of secondary school age onwards, rode it like a boss brother, great to see, I think when riding I enjoy the feeling of the back wheel sliding more than lifting the front up, when your watching another rider weave the back wheel around as the engine is giving it " wap wapp wahh waahhh " makes the hairs stand up on my neck and arms, and I've mostly only been a road bike rider, but love a go on a KX 250 . Never ridden a KX 500. Yet.

I'm impressed
Oh wow badass big bore 2 stroke single smoker-gasm. Ah brings back some wicked memories from when I owned my 1981 Suzuki RM 465X over here in New Zealand in '84. I swapped my 1979 Honda XR500 for it with a mate - straight swap. My mate blew the '79 Honda XR500 engine going to work not long after the swap while I tall geared the RM 465X for maximum off-road speed runs. I fitted a Boysen reed to smooth out the insane powerband and used BelRay 2 stroke oil [damn expensive even back then in '84]. I wondered about using alcohol however chose not to as if I mis-calculated the fuel to oil premix ratio and ran it excessively lean - that would have simply melted the top of the piston and I couldn't afford the repairs. To see pics of my 1981 Suzuki RM 465X and read about my 10 motorcycles I owned from 1981 to 1990 - my final 10th bike has a surprising end click here: www.flickr.com/photos/35707376@N00/50855348636/in/album-72157713681398176/

@@ArmathuX I had a 2002 kx500 one of last ever built, you rode the bush like I used to do.
Great arm stretchers I call the 500's but once you and machine become 1 and dial in suspension, sprockets, carby jets running @ 50:1 ratio on a B9ES plug boom they're unstoppable!
On odd occasion I'd goto a local track for shits and giggles and tear the track apart and flog the Pro's, most of wanted to know who I rode for and who was my team etc...lol you've either got it or you don't!
Beautiful machines, thanks for the great memories my friend keep roosting that wheel and keep safe!❤️💪👍
Maaaauuupp, maaaaaupp!! Missing the 2 stroke era. Last 2 stroke I had was a RG250Gamma. Mental bike.
I had one of these. Excellent fun. Wish i never sold it.
Only regrets when you sell a bike.... for years !
I said 4 years ago that ill always keep what is in my garage and hold promise.... me and my sons will be happy in ten years, trust me
I love the old 80s 2 strokes.Savage !!
Yes
500 2 smoke, “The bike that has the bite to back up the bark!”
Whoever this feller is, he's absoloutely insane! That scooter scares me just lookin' at it.
I used to own one of these in the late 80's and the 90s. Great fun and great memories.
Daamn a lot of torque! A very good driver too
Not here to be rude but the guy had studs on, he kinda sucks at riding.
👍 Отличная прогулка
It's on one wheel leaving rooster tails.. Nuff said..
Super impressed. The surface, was proper scetchy....Nice bike 🏍.. respect 🙏
90s 2 stroke feel, 500 power
Damn that bike has a lot of torque 🤤
That not torque mate that is 65 horsepower of monstrous power!
Herman Ferreira Vlogs it is lot of torque too
@@hermanferreiravlogs4330 Well... P=M*ω ... So keep it in mind :D
TRUE XD
I've had a cr450 for a few years and just got a cr500. The 4 stroke is definitely smoother power delivery, 2 stroke is explosive power on demand. Not gonna lie every time I turn over my cr500 it gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Decent camera work. At least they knew to zoom in and out as the rider approached and drove past.
I got forearm pump just watching this. What an absolute beast of a machine. Ride it like you stole it!
abslute beast
Great Rider, it's really hard to control a 500cc 2Stroke
I love how on tick over this thing sounds like a pussycat and 250 doesn't sound a lot to those that dont MX when really this thing is 100% animal. Good skills too!
...I keep coming back to this video time after time...the raw, deep sound of that 500 in the forrest is just magic! This must be THE best video of a 500cc 2 stroke on the planet and if you got a better one, please post a link! // Daniel from Överkalix - Sweden (Honda CR250 1988, Husaberg 650 4-stroke fucker 2001, Husqvarna WR430 1981, Yamaha Tenere XT660 1993)
That thing is a monster 😎😂💯🏴
Hammer Video this engine is fine adjusted , an maico 490ccm in 1983 was not so brave in handling. 40 years later an perfect adjusted mashine.. an not true dream in old days..
Nothing quite like a big bore 2t.
My 86 yz 490 still smokes new bikes
@Dick Little My 780 Hisenburg would dust all your asses.
Kawa will smoke all of yo asses
My 700 will beat your 600 . Oh yeah well my 800 will beat your 700 . Oh yeah then my 900 will beat your 800 .and life goes on
dont see many good vidioes like this
great footage,bike ,and riding
I do that on my 2 stroke all the time, once it hit the power band it just spins the wheel crazy
Mr Black ok boomer
Wow its got my juices flowing hearing that and he is barely rapping the throttle and it just wants to take off by standing up, sliding out. Got a ride in the 80's a friends brand new one and had it open on the Appalacian trail. Got the highspeed wobbles on it and kept seeing one side of trees and then the other. Didn't think I was getting out of it but will never forget the raw power of an older 2 stroke 500.
Mid video my question was answered, lol I see stud's.
Great riding and that's a beast of a 2 stroke!
I only had a KX 250 builded 1989, in year 1992.
It was slower, but fast enough for me :-)
Still waiting for the part where he rides it wide open.
There was only ever a hand full of lads in country could hold em wide open...he wheels it pretty good on them slikk tracks.
Most people dont even get out of 2nd this guy blessing ua with wheelies and more
Wdym he’s givin her the berries and throwing wheelies on super wet paths
Reminds me of my old '82 Yamaha IT-465. That bike took no prisoners including...the riders. You had to know your stuff but what a thrill to ride. BRRRAAP-BRAAAaaaaAAAAP!!!
I can imagine.. I would to test those 465 someday. KX500 is my fav machine
@@ArmathuX I believe that the IT-490's were not as good as the 465's. They suffered from pre-ignition issues, due to a slightly higher compression ratio.
The cheap way around that was to double-up on the head-gasket, which essentially off-set the positives of larger displacement.

One of my favoritest bikes was my old '80 KDX-250. I street-legalized it with the addition of a horn. I got into so much trouble with that bike. Knew most of the cops around -lol.
It’s absolutely insane to think of 500cc on wet gravel or even in a dirt bike period… it’s madness I love it
Yep, it very special dirtbike & lovely sounds
Braaaaaaaap echo thru the woods😎🤘🏼
Those power slides are so satisfying
This whole video fills me with anxiety..
good
Raced a KX500 up Pikes Peak in 1999....5th 500 pro....yes they are stupid fast and a thrill to ride if you can
Nice, fast & fun 2-stroke dirtbikes indeed 👍
Loved watching this, that noise will forever remind me of secondary school age onwards, rode it like a boss brother, great to see, I think when riding I enjoy the feeling of the back wheel sliding more than lifting the front up, when your watching another rider weave the back wheel around as the engine is giving it " wap wapp wahh waahhh " makes the hairs stand up on my neck and arms, and I've mostly only been a road bike rider, but love a go on a KX 250 . Never ridden a KX 500. Yet.
Damn and I thought my kx 250 2t was fast
Lol it is, im terrified when the kx250 suddenly hit its peak power band.
2 strokes are badass, hope to own one someday (and not kill my self ahah)
Well it might surprise you, but a 250 is more aggressive than a 500
Alex 1193 speeding yes at speeds no
Alex 1193 really?????
Really respect the fact he didnt tear the hell out of those trails when it was muddy. Preserve them for better days.
My dad used to have the same bike, he used to give us kids a ride on a wheelie going thru every gear wide open.
❤️Honda CR250R ❤️ Kawa 500 RESPECT 💪
Cr 250r is fucking lazy shit
Wait so this guy is an absolute Kickstart monster right? I rode a 500cc KTM 2 stroke a couple of times and it's been a long time ago and I wasn't really experienced with a Kickstart at the time but it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to start it I damn sure wasn't just sitting there with my ass in the seat doing it... I'm impressed
That think kills you if you can't ride. Damn, I'm in love. Been riding cross machines for 10yrs now, still afraid of that thing.
Man you can just hear that tire is sidling that hole time when it actually grips it kicks man awesome bike
If i can drift a dirtbiker really well, am i considered as a goon rider or a pretty good rider ?
@Dick Little lol, it's easy, but let me know when you need a clip ;D
@Dick Little alright, i just wondered. Btw, stay safe while riding that beast
That thing has balls lmao love these old bikes
I need a 500 in my life. CR or KX.
i swear i could smell it.
Starting to appreciate the grip I had on my yz250
AMAZING
Thanks :)
Many years ago, I used to race RM125 and Kawi and Honda 250 four strokes in Motorcross and I've ridden YZ 250's and they are all PLENTY strong for me...I have no reason to sit on such a rocket as this 500!!! braaaaaaaapppp
My dad has 2 CR500 one is Emily and one is Crystle
There is just the 1 sounds in a big bore that makes it sound so good
Que máquina por Dios!!!! Y muy bien conducida,en esos terrenos húmedos es más difícil todavía!
