I would pay money to hear it lol. I only have a V6 limited Taurus but I want to add an axle back to it. I love how the engine sounds from the cabin, it has a flutter to it but it's too low to hear at high speeds
I don't understand how anyone can hate the symphony of an engine flooring it no matter the cylinder count. Honestly in your favor most v6 owners are teenagers buying their first cars so a crappy exhaust set-up from lack of knowledge is bound to happen.
The front is a custom bumper/grill setup but the back is just a GT rear bumper which is a smart move. Especially if you converted into a dual exhaust system. That being said it doesn't sound bad at all for a V6. The 4.0 has less rasp that is predecessor the 3.8. It's pretty quick looking too from the takeoff.

They can hang or beat stock GTs of the same year with better gas mileage and insurance premiums. I built a cammed 2007 Taurus years ago that made 250 rwhp and ran 14.1 and 99 mph in the quarter before it was totaled by an uninsured driver. Building another one with a 3.8L in it and a five speed. Planning on swapping in a supercharger from a Thunderbird Super Coupe, cam, and tune.
I had a 2006 v6 5 speed with a h pipe on it no muffler and tail pipes it actually sounded pretty good especially at full throttle. Miss that car it was pretty fun to drive and pretty quick for a v6
I'm surprised, it actually doesn't sound bad piped out. Usually v6's sound terrible with aftermarket exhaust. But this one sounds good. And two tips always looks better than one. Dual exhaust is always the way to go, only cheapskates don't run duals.
Not gonna lie, it sounds good for a straight pipe! I do however think the Pypes dual exhaust catback with an xpipe and m80 muffler and resonator sounds WAY better. If you want the car to sound like a v8 that’s what you get. I have so many guys ask if mine is a v8. Good stuff man!

The 4.0 is great especially in automatic , if you’re going to go granny mode really go for it, they drive so quiet and smooth. I miss mine I got the GT s197 but my convertible v6 was always a good time , especially after really giving it all the fixings

I had one of these up until 2018 before trading for a focus st2. It really wasn't that bad of a car for the time. Sure it wasn't fast like Mustangs today but at the time it wasn't bad. The GT of the previous year only had an extra 40-50hp over this car. Not saying I wouldn't take the previous year GT over this just stating facts.

we have Pypes on my wife's 06 V6. it has a nice Alfa Romeo tone to it. 1 question, anybody know where to get that add on ducktail lip on the rear spoiler? Also, it's not a custom front or rear bumper on the car, they're the factory bumpers if you bought the California Special edition Mustang.

May seem that way but his gauges probably went bad and don’t show the correct measurements, judging by how the RPMs didn’t even move when he revved it.
it would likely sound better....the pentastars sound good with a muffler, and resonator delete.., ...but at the same time, you're boosted.....turbos drain out the sound..

Resonator delete only - Meh Mufflers deleted next - straight pipe with cats - sounded the best for the low cost but I wasnt satisified. Next I went with super 10 mufflers - sounded ok but too quiet. So then I went back to straight pipe - still like this the best. Then my cat melted so I tried catless -true straight pipe,, and it sounded like total shit. So I went and got cats put on. Still not satisified with the exhaust I went and got the Solo Cyclone catback. This sounded ok but lots of rasp at 3500-4k rpms. Hated that. It was just too loud. Lastly I went and said screw it and got the Ripp Catback because I knew it would be toned down. It sounds ok but there is no deep sound to be found at all. Looking back at all I have done I think the straight pipe was best. I like how the ripp is 2.5" pipe. And the Ripp has 4 resonators/mufflers. So I might try removing the 2 in the rear and play around with the sound. the Solo exhaust was "meh" too dang raspy and loud.

Yeah when there fully tune and cleaned free of carbon buildup and cooling spilling on top of the manifold. (2009 explorer 4x2 cologne and 5 speed automatic glad I don't own my mom does but willing to get it some tune and mods)

Yes, vortech makes 2 supercharger kits for the v6.I have the High output version with the charge cooler. I installed it 12 years ago on my 2005 4.0 litre. It increases horsepower from 210 to 330 and torque from 240 to 337ft/lbs. really nice!!
The biggest issue I find with six cylinders is the lack of bass and/or an increase in raspiness. I love the race car sound you get from some of them and the deep grumble the GTRs have (Nissan not AMG 🤣).
Found if you want the same volume but more depth/bass with a 6 you got up in exhaust size and just add some extra resonators/mufflers Some people don't like the little drone that comes from it How ever I myself dont have an issue with a bit of drone

Parts are snapping on my 05 v6. They make you get entire assembly's for some parts. Almost a grand. Gear shift assembly
