So glad they changed some of these lyrics and details lol. The Opening Up we have now is so much more memorable and full of personality
what changed?
Basically Becky's whole part in the beginning and the don't they don't they don't they and tone cal does a dance instead of saying his line and the song part after cal does the dance @@Sanscripter

I agree because they made this look like a regular musical and like the story/life it's just a peachy peachy peachy pie
@BrandonRoss-v6s thanks stranger!
I would do anything for a professionally filmed recording of this whole show
This is just a bootleg

There is a dvd version on Amazon for $10😃
Gracelynn Kim for real??? I couldn’t find it ☹️☹️☹️
Katherine Ronidel it’s the movie version , so not like this
@@emanuellancecruz3028 Do you have it? It has been deleted :(
If only Adrienne could have witnessed her movie becoming a Broadway show … she loved Broadway 🥺❤️
1:46 Baby Stephanie and Charity in the back, my heart is full
That bit from Down At The Diner kills me 😭
I wish it had stayed.
Thank you for sharing this video!
Right around 0:39, I adore how the piano music underneath Keala starts sounding like Gonna Get Over You by Sara Bareilles 😍 I love how Sara has such an iconic sound but can still create new music that doesn’t sound the same!
I also love the bridge and wish it wasn’t cut 😭
I Love WAITRESS! So sad that Broadway and West End Productions are now closed! I'm truly amazed at how the set and the lyrics have changed when the production went to Broadway.
@Gert Van de Waals The final run for Waitress West End was supposed to be on July 2020, but due to covid it was closed in early March. Some fans said that the UK production was supposed to film the show but it never happened because of covid.
Though, I think they’ve should have already filmed the show during Kat’s run.
Broadway is coming back with Sara Bareilles in the lead.
And now Waitress is back both on Broadway and in the UK!
Try to catch the UK tour happening now!
I'm so happy we found this! I wish the whole thing would come out! I like kimiko glenn more, but jeanna looked like a great dawn and should've stayed for longer then previews! Great looking show, I'm just sad that we might never get to see the rest.
Cal just vibin’ in the kitchen gives me life😂
Waitress is the boringest plot line if you verbally tell someone what it’s about. The acting, writing, and music really elevate the show! Enjoyed seeing this on touring Broadway!
But the movie is really good
Never seen this version, it seeing Cal’s rocking the grill is life.
i love what they did with the last “hello how you been?”
They need to professionally video tape all broadway shows to stream.
right tho, it should be a broadway streaming channel, cuz I don't live in NY and I don't plan on living in NY but I love musicals and broadway
pretty much all broadway shows have a pro-shot for the new york archives which can only be accessed , there is potential down the line for more and more pro-shots to be released, particularly for shows that have been closed for some time or have the backing of big streaming companies like disney (like hamilton had)
I prefer the opening up we have now to this, buy I adore the "its the heartbeat, the center, the lifeline" part
This is really cool to see since it isn't the final version. I do prefer the final cut though, i feel like it flows better and is a good snapshot of the musical.
It's fantastic to see Opening Up before it made it to Broadway and what was cut and changed from the original.
i love them 😭
Why can't they just release a professionally shot movie? Or create a movie with the original cast?
Well the musical is based if the movie Waitress and it takes a LOT of legal things to get it professionally filmed :( I want it to be filmed too so bad
@@yayjoshua6638 i think it's still doable though. Hamilton is releasing a professionaly shot stage performance. There are a lot of Waitress fans clamoring for this to happen.
Idk, I love the movie AND the musical (Sara stan) but to me, going from film to musical to film again seems like it would kinda overshadow the original film. The film was written and directed and starred in by Adrienne Shelly who made it as a tribute to the love she had for her daughter, which is very special. As much as I’d love Sara’s incredible music for this show to reach the most ppl possible, just seems a bit disrespectful to an artist’s original vision/love letter to their child
They do have a pro shot of the broadway show, though I don’t believe it is the original cast, at the New York public library in an archive of most broadway proshots that are used to preserve theater and can only be accessed by specific people for certain usage.
American unions make it almost impossible to release professionally filmed stage productions unless you have the backing (and money) of companies like Disney.
Even the original Broadway production of Spongebob was filmed in the UK because it was easier to film it internationally than to navigate the complex union laws in America.
This is amazing to see oh my gosh
Thank you so much for sharing this!
i miss waitress i want to cry. if they released a pro shot i'd throw SO much money at them
They were supposed to film a proshot in London with Sara but then the pandemic happened and the show closed permanently 😭
Broadway is coming back with Sara Bareilles in the lead.
@@MarcO-qe9td YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REALLY
@@jacklim8184 yes! I just saw it last week!
I guess you already know
This version is everything and more 🥵😍 makes me cry everytime I hear it. I need a full video of this original version
Thank you for this ❤️
Damn so Charity has been in this since the BEGINNING
Stephanie too!
Yep went from nurse norma to becky
Love
1:18-1:36 is so cool man
Glad they changed it. I prefer what we now have to this.
Just waiting for we live in Ciro
Thank You!
Excellent.
I love the choreography better than what they have now and I know what they have is great. I just wonder why they change it?
Wait so did Dawn's look have a revamp or did the haircut kimiko happened to have at the time she was cast dictate it thereafter?
Revamp. This is tryouts so they fixed things that they thought they could improve on.
This is a different set than usual
This is the California tryouts. They usually develop shows before being picked up by Broadway. Their they workshop the production and change stuff like set, lyrics, order, etc. Most of the cast follows them to Broadway.
@@cameronfoster5838 oh okay, I knew shows did that. I just got confused because this video was uploaded recently
@@cameronfoster5838 Boston tryouts!
how come kimiko isn't dawn in this?? just curious
It's because this recording is of the original A.R.T. production (pre-broadway) and Jeanna de Waal played Dawn in that production. Kimiko Glenn, along with other OBC members such as Christopher Fitzgerald (Ogie) and Nick Cordero (Earl) didn't join the show until it transferred to Broadway.
@@anxiousartist5545 correct, the art cast is the first cast but you wouldn't know due to how little photos and videos we have of it- still, I think jeanna should've stayed for longer then the previews
I think Becky's lines at the opening don't fit the rest of the song. Also, I know Cal's "drum" solo was moved to "I Love you Like a Table."
This is creepy 😱
h o w
I'm sorry but how is waitress creepy😭
What now?!
