Its kinda annoying how everyone is talking about how Lin Manuel Miranda saved Broadway...Hamilton is a great show and Lin Manuel Miranda is a amazing and talented guy but there are more amazing broadway musicals than just Hamilton or DEH or BMC. Just listen to a few like Wicked, Phantom of the opera, Cats, Les Miserables, RENT, or Evita and you will realize Broadway doesn't need saving...There is more to Broadway than a few select shows that became popular because of rapping or well known names...Not at all to say that Hamilton isn't great because it is, but there are other musicals that are classic that are just as good.
When "Stomp!" came up, I couldn't help but think about Peter Capaldi's view on the show; "....it's just a lot of Australian-looking people banging things off of each other and making as much noise as possible....I've paid a small fortune for this racket when I could just have gone into any one of my local cafes and listened to all the toddlers banging their Cybermen's heads off the tables."
It reminded me of when the entire fifth grade at my school tried to sing it for our promotion ceremony. In the end, the chorus teacher gave up on us and chose this other girl, who sang solo. To be fair, she did have an amazing voice.
So this is hilarious and all but it’s actually 100% accurate that if a group of theatre kids hear ‘Seasons of Love’ they absolutely will all start singing along...
I actually sold CUTCO knives at one point, and let me tell you… There is not a single knife set you can get it for under $50. Hell, even the cheapest item, a god damn Can Opener, was something like $54. Did not, ah...didn't sell much.
