The best way to think of the pedophile example is a detective profiler for the police for example. They have to think about things from that criminals perspective. Completely abstract and devoid of emotion. Purely logically this is their rationale. And figuring it out like a puzzle. Doesn’t mean the detective will become a pedophile. As an INTP I see the ENFP is struggling with Ti lol

It’s all based on fear response of the nucleus accumbens mapping to other regions. Outer shell run or fight Se __? Te neocortex. Inner shell freeze Ti pre frontal cortex Si hippocampus. Intuition is automatic unconscious even in the conscious. Fi and Fe is mapping to the hypothalamus. And as an INTP thinking emotional people are in the habit of believing everything they think is so funny to me. Sounds insane to me. And not sure how it gets mapped seems to me like their nucleus accumbens is broken lol

I feel that issue of a thought virus to the wrong type of person. Like an ENFP haha they can’t handle all the thoughts an INTP would have. So you kind of coddle them as a mature INTP. To take care of their mind.

I jumped to my feet when Antonia said:
"we need to honor the process
    of figuring out
    what our scripts are"
I shouted 'YES!' to just myself in my room.
    And you continued:
"because there are scripts inside of us
    that cling to us
    even when we attempt
    to reprogram them"
And it was a 'Aha!' moment, since I realized it's what exactly what I'm doing in my work as a fiction writer: exploring some specific evil scripts to show how far they go and where are their roots and pull them off our minds once and for all. (Or at least, try.)
Thank you for crafting this fantastically clear sentence to sum it all up, Antonia. Thank you both for this podcast so challenging and fulfilling to listen to.
By the way, I'm a French INTP writer whose first name is Harmony, and I laughed so hard when I discovered you nicknamed extraverted Feeling, which is INTPs' 3-year-old process, 'Harmony'. Felt a bit like someone played a trick on me.

Ti users, specially Ti Hero/parent can be a kind of anomalies within any kind of systems, their chaotic individualism and the shape knife-like logic can cut through any kind of BS, and aslo make them to doubt ever belief system in the world, even their own thoughts and beliefs.
Ti users are always accused by Te-Fi users for being immoral or valueless or even for not taking any sids in a morally difficult situations, but one thing they need to understand is that Ti is not about value judgments, it not about whether something is "Good or Bad" it's not whether what the majority thinks the right thing is, Ti is all about understanding. This is of course when Ti is in its mature form. While Fi is always judging everything through the filter of morality, Ti is always judging everything through the filter of logic.
    Morality : Good/Bad
    Logic : Ture/False
This is why Ti users can view everything from an apatatic position without being involved themselves in a situation emotionally, but this does not automatically mean that they are uncaring people, or are emotionaless as they are accused of being, it's their nature to be as such, just as it's Fi's nature to be as it is.
We're always searching for the truth, and when we apply critical thinking to ever belief system that we come across and we find out that the system is both internally and externally inconsistent, we automatically decard it, and put it in the 'false' catagory in our minds, we no longer deem it to be any kind of importance. This is our way of processing things when it comes to everything. Imagine you do this all the time with everything, and when we internalized all our analysis and our judgments of the world, we as a result want to contribute our analysis to others and show that these systems are false or inaccurate or even in some cases very dangerous in the long run for the collective, but as we articulate out our thoughts to others, we are always met with backlash and rejection, as Antonia mentioned in the podcast. This backlash can isolate us even more form the people around us and even force us to repress our own thinking because they are "controversial" or shouldn’t ever be thought out loud, this mental repression is as damaging as repressing your feelings, if we are forced to repress out thinking, we are automatically forced to repress a major part of ourselves. No one in the world when sees someone offering help or showing compassion to someone, ('Fe' from an cognitive function point of view) says that it's contraversial or it shouldn’t even be acted upon. The Fe function is responsible for compassion, social norms, ethics, etc. It is Fe's function to do those things and contribute its function to the world, people don't have any problem with Fe, but they do when it comes to Ti. When an Fe dominant person is doing what they suppose to do, as in helping others, it's considered as helpful, but when an Ti user criticizes a belief system it's considered as hurtful, hateful, or even "hate speech", this could be viewed as function discrimination. People don’t realize that the Ti user form their perspective is actually trying to help and contribute its own function to the world. Imagine a world without any Ti users, it would be Orwellian nightmare come to life. If you want a real life example of such a senario, all you have to do is look at north Korea, that's the kind of world it would be if Ti users are eradicated or silenced form the world.
Why do people react to Ti with such backlash? If any person adopts and lives by a curtain belief system and its principals, as a result the system will become intertwined with their personal identities, and any outside criticism of the belief system that they have adopted will be taken as a sign of threat and will be taken as an attack on their own identity, meaning they will view every argument against their beliefs as "ad hominem".

YES!!! I have always felt that others arent able, or willing, or whatever to hold thoughts without agreeing with them. It upsets me when another person sends a moral judgement my way just for being open minded enough to enjoying tackling any idea. Secondary Fe is particularly abusive and towards Ti dominants, in my experience. I just see Fe users as bullies with shallow understanding of intricate topics. I suppose that is normal for an INTP?

My INTP bf has Ti in his first slot and understanding his thought process is really important to me. I believe that Ti and Fi has an intimate relationship with each other and looking through the lense of one without the other is incomplete. So to access one of those with out strengthening the other can be dangerous because it would be imbalanced and unnaturally bias.
Ti without Fi does not consider the intent of the thought and the thinker of the thought.
On the other hand, Fi without Ti does not allow for true discussion in the public for thoughts to be resolved and find harmony between Fi and Ti.
The true challenge is these functions can be extremely difficult to connect the further apart they are on your dominant four functions.
Picking apart all 8(x2 for introvert and extrovert) is so important to access.

Hello! I also have an INTP bf. Understanding his thought process is also really important to me. When our Fi and Ti are working together, we are mutually happy and feel like a powerful force of good for each other and for the world.
However, I do get discouraged when he thinks my emotions have “intent”. We did a lot of work in the beginning of our relationship around deconstructing the idea that my feelings have agenda or seek to manipulate. However, the misunderstanding can still arise. Do you have any advice for a Ti/Fi couple to build more trust for each other’s functions? I am ENFP. He is INTP.

@@heartpoint5289 Yes yes. I have found some tools of communicating with my INTP bf that have been really helpful. It takes A LOT of patience. The key is to not “alarm” him or put him on the defensive. His Fe is like a 3 year old child... very delicate.
Instead of asking how “he feels”, ask him what “he thinks”. Even if it’s about his feelings technically. It sounds less alarming.
Also, no INTP likes more serious discussions sprung on them... you may have to schedule a time frame to talk. Give him time to prepare his thoughts and at the same time obligate him to a deadline to talk.
Also, think of a win-win outcome to your conversation. Stay cool and calm. If you lose your temper than all that work you did was pointless. Think of constructive criticism as a sandwich. The two ends of bread is positive feedback and the “meat” in the middle is the issue or constructive criticism you need to resolve.
Keep in mind that if you make every interacting with you a serious conversation, he will tire of this and pull away, turning off his feelings for you... INTP’s are known for this and then they are very capable of cutting people out of their lives easily BUT if you manage to get his loyalty, he will love you forever!!
You want most of your interactions to be encouraging, bringing out the positives, and uplifting.
INTP’s don’t really know how they feel, they know what they think.
Fi is in their demon function... tread carefully with that.

any negative thought or feeling no matter how bad or evil, needs to process through in order to transform, and the process mechanism is acknowledgment and acceptance with loving kindness and hospitality, for these are your thoughts and if you treat them with love then, they lose their negative and bad and evil, energy and become positive and healed energy, you might say that the process i shared above is the process of conversion or transformation from evil to good from wounded to healed . as you treat these negative thoughts and feelings like this you are treating yourself and this is what you call loving yourself, as you do this process of accepting the worst of yourself, you are now able to treat others the same. love the lord your God with all your heart mind soul and strength and love others as you love yourself!

I agree both Fi & Ti seek an internal consensus, just take different mental routes to reach a conclusion. What I find most telling in society today, taking any one position is perceived as “controversial”. Doubly so if it more moderately positioned. As a norm, the way to get noticed is taking a outliner position which gets attention. Most centre grounds are thin in numbers which dilutes the free range of opinions in the wild.

    • @Danimal1965

Isn't a moderate position more likely than not the norm on scale?

Really great audio! I love the way that the ideas were explored. I wanted to touch on the trigger warning... I totally understand Antonia’s point of view; I, myself, am a Ti user as well. But, I also would like to note that some people do have very awful distress in certain subject such as post-traumatic stress or severe depression. It is wiser to put the trigger warning in place for the People who are not ready yet (due to risk of suicide, capital mistakes such as mass killing, etc...) - Hence, I am not saying that they should NEVER aboard that subject or ALWAYS avoid it: it is not safe or beneficial to do that. But, knowing that it is there can allow those who are not ready yet to take the precaution needed. But I do enjoy and agree that we need to explore the deepest thoughts of the mind. I always tell that to those around me but I kind of scare them when I say that. Also, while using Ti, Fe is useful because it helps to detach oneself to also explore other people’s views.

All in all is the matter of perspective and how you look at it. Yes direct and indirect experience "helps" but in the end you are on your own and have to pave your own path. In life we have the good, the bad and the ugly, it is what you do that counts. Helping people towards a common goal and not being too selfish, is a good way of life but sadly not that practical in today's economy standards etc.
It is interesting how much knowledge is accessible thanks to the internet and youtube, and you two Joel and Antonia bringing us food for thought.
Being more self aware is good and all, know thau yourself, makes you more you and the physical and psychological thanks you for it, dependent on rate of a good and bad intent.
Life is a messy road and we all have to walk it one way or another.
I am a sucker for bad puns and all but it makes me happy in the moment but here it goes. "You know a cliche when you see one" PEACE!

Ti - true and false awarness. Its a process of if this then this, if this is true than that is false. You say like a programe, its binar with only 1 and 0. Ti needs input from Te, garbage in and garbage out. If the input is wrong ahaed of time the Ti user is in trouble.

    • @PersonalityHackerPodcast
      @PersonalityHackerPodcast  5 років тому +5

"If the input is wrong ahead of time the Ti user is in trouble."
Kind of. The kicker is that all of us are programmed with faulty input. "The easiest way to be brainwashed is to be born."
I think that's why it's up to Ti to constantly be re-evaluating what programming has been accepted as 'truth'. In my experience, there were pieces of information I took for granted for decades until I got better information. Then, during basic Ti 'scanning' times, things that made sense before suddenly stopped making sense. This required me to make major memetic changes, and thank jebus I did.
I think the most important thing to impress upon Ti users (and anyone trying to exercise this muscle) is to use plenty of alone time for 'belief scanning'. Even if there's nothing to address at the time, just the practice of regular re-evaluation of beliefs and ideas is imperative.
      -Antonia

@@PersonalityHackerPodcast Well answered, Ti has to verify everything, even if its hurts. Beliefs changes, but truth dont change based on how you feel about it or others feel about it. Ti users has the responsility if they have verifyed what they know and belive, to tell others to help people improve them selfes and feel good about them selfes because they know the truth know. Its linked to Fe, but remember Ti is cold and raw, its a sword and if not used carefully it cuts you and the other person. Its also the Ti users responsibilty to live and walk in truth.

    • @syndroid
      @syndroid 4 роки тому

But coupled with Ne, the truth does change. Constantly. This combination makes for a plethora of possibilities of truth and also creates the difficulty of defining a single truth. Second guessing/ critically reviewing your internal thought process is both a ln advantage and a hindrance.
