A lot of people didn't like that Connor wasn't the leader at the start of the Resistance. But I liked that about it. Because I think it makes sense that at the beginning of the war, I would rather follow real military officers than someone who claims he was always meant to be the leader, I bought that there would be some doubters. And what was also good about that, was that he proved that he is truly a worthy leader, when Resistance Command tells the soldiers to attack Skynet and sacrifice the prisoners, Connor tells them not too, they listen to Connor instead of command because he proved to them that what Command is doing is wrong and they believed in him instead. And it's a good thing they did, because Command was killed because of their foolishness and Connor both saved the prisoners and destroyed Skynet Central. But, that's just me.

There's a still of them meeting but what sucks is the footage isn't included in the extended version, not even as a deleted scene if I recall correctly so we may never actually see it along with a bunch of other little scenes that you can view snippets of in trailers and stills.
I have to say that in hindsigh Salvation wasnt that bad of a movie, even if it might have been the weakest Terminator movie up until 2009. Still it would have been much better if Salvation got the sequels that they had planned for it, rather than getting the franchise rebooted 2 times over...each with rather poor results... The thing I now really value about Salvation the most is that it atleast moved the franchise towards the future war in post Judgement Day world. So not just the same recycled plot elements from T1 and T2.
It's better than T3. 7 or 7.5 out of 10 for me. It's more in the veins of Blade Runner than Terminator, but I dig it being different. Another problem it has is the film is tonally bland, besides the Marcus storyline where he and Kyle are pretty entertaining.
Well bland is definitely the right word to describe it and thats why I still rate Terminator 3 higher, cause while it had quite poor casting and not that special of a story and some stupid humor, but it was overall more enjoyable movie to watch than Salvation, atleast for me. But like said I can value that different style Terminator Salvation has now, though aside from Christian Bale's John Connor and Michael Ironside as the general, it didnt really have that good of cast either and like said the overall storyline was rather meh as well. But ye personally I rate the first 4 movies something like this Terminator: 8.5/10 Terminator 2: 10/10 Terminator 3: 7.5/10 Terminator Salvation: 7/10
In all movies they were always trying to stop judgement day from happening with that time travel bullshit. This is the movie that it showed John Connor fighting Skynet post judgement day. And it did it well. I don’t understand why it gets so much hate. It tried something different in the terminator franchise and it was actually a decent movie. Plus, it had Christian Bale. 😉
Some of the tactical stuff didn't make sense, along with action set pieces that looked good but also didn't make sense. The movie works as a self-contained whole that moves the Terminator franchise ahead, instead of rebooting a dead horse.
Because it had some stupid shit in it. Terminators throwing Connor around the room instead of just breaking his neck, girl getting all horned up for Marcus after almost getting raped, etc
I think one reason is because it didn't quite FEEL like a Terminator film. Let's be honest. Arnold kind of carries the series. When you leave him out, it's like a movie with Terminators in it, but not "Terminator." But fans always find reasons to hate the sequels regardless. It took me a while to appreciate this one, but finally I did. The movies are decent when you leave expectations out. People set the bar at Terminator 2, and are thus always disappointed. You can't make the same film twice, unless you reboot it, which sucks anyway in my opinion.
The fact that skynet knows where the resistance is, knows where John Conner is, but doesn't send everything it has at John Conner's location immediately, shows that skynet doesn't have the overwhelming force needed to actually complete the task, because for skynet it wouldn't matter if it had even just 10 units left after winning, it could easily rebuild and without humanity to stop it. Skynet can only win at this point if it lures humans into traps and picks off wandering humans one by one.
ben affleck is the worst Batman. Give George Clooney the script and surroundings Ben had and he would be the best Batman. Even Ben admitted that he couldn’t crack it as Batman, his words.
The more time goes by, the more I appreciate this film. Not only for what it is, but for what it tried to do; instead of retreading and rehashing familiar ground like the other sequels did, it tried to take the story in a new direction and do its own thing. They really should have given it a shot and made a trilogy out of this.
The face and reaction that Bale makes at 2:33 is a perfect depiction of the "oh, shit!" moment that John Connor would have upon hearing that Skynet somehow already knows about Kyle Reese and his connection to him.
I remember how much people bitched that Arnold wasn't in this movie. I was so pissed. Because it meant that this movies failure would mean that we could never get another shot at this type of terminator movie again...
This movie is garbage too. In every way. This scene is actually a nice example, they have a presentation for the "magic signal" ready for Connor even though he supposedly snuck aboard. Not to mention the idea of the magical signal being terrible. And they have this magical signal that they haven't even tested yet, but they've already scheduled a full scale offensive using it for some reason. And they scheduled it for 4 days in the future, as if you can prepare an offensive in that time frame. Not to mention the idea of a submarine as the hidey hole for the leaders of the resistance and how stupid that is. Or they way Ironside is obese when he has supposedly been hiding aboard a submarine for something like a decade. Genuinely I could go on listing flaws in this one single scene for another couple of thousand characters. And that's just the one scene. That is why this film is poorly rated, not underrated.
@@jimmydesouza4375 the signal wasn't made for Conner specifically i think. Maybe his unit.. The signal was left to be discovered by humanity and was set to work exactly as designed. It was to be exploited with a real weakness that could be overwritten once the humans believed it worked and could pinpoint locations where the signal was being used. It worked as a program virus within a virus that laid dormant and could be activated to infect the original virus. Once the humans were set to use it and turned it on accross a larger area Skynet knew they were set and activated the virus to render the first virus null and pinpoint all their locations I'm not saying the movie didn't have flaws, but it was far more imaginative than the movies that followed.
@@dominickefrim3088 No. You completely failed to understand, which explains why you liked the film I guess. In a world where the machines have such a straight up superiority in materiel, it would be surprising that they still have above ground airbases with landing apron lights on etc.
Well, it's actually realistic. My country air force used to fly sorties of 1 squadron (4 obsolete subsonic aircrafts), from above ground open airfield against groups of over 100 state of the art supersonic American jets. Guess who won those engagements? Of course it's the American jets. That's why my country call the war a "Resistance", instead of "LMAO EZ". He basically is kind of star struck at John basically saying "Hey are you THE real John Connor!? Nice to meet you." Something along those lines. I think Crews said he figures they cut it because it didn't really fit the tone of the scene or was distracting. There's a still of them meeting but what sucks is the footage isn't included in the extended version, not even as a deleted scene if I recall correctly so we may never actually see it along with a bunch of other little scenes that you can view snippets of in trailers and stills.
Of course! 😉
One of the most underrated action movies of all times...
But ye personally I rate the first 4 movies something like this
Terminator: 8.5/10
Terminator 2: 10/10
Terminator 3: 7.5/10
Terminator Salvation: 7/10
@Gordy 101 i disagree, genesis is the worst!
That is something we can both agree on!
@Gordy 101 perhaps you shoud read my comment again....
The comic continuation of Salvation is very good. It's a pity the other two planned movies weren't made.
Those two planned sequels for *"TERMINATOR: Salvation"* deserve to be made into graphic novels.
NO WAY skynet survives with Sam Fischer and John Connor working together.
Except they did not get along, hence why "Sam Fisher" big died.
You mean Sam Fisher and Batman
@@NYG5 just like your cmt :))
@@kubin224 check out this low iq moviegoer, did baby enjoybWWE terminator throwing john connor around?
I think one reason is because it didn't quite FEEL like a Terminator film. Let's be honest. Arnold kind of carries the series. When you leave him out, it's like a movie with Terminators in it, but not "Terminator." But fans always find reasons to hate the sequels regardless. It took me a while to appreciate this one, but finally I did. The movies are decent when you leave expectations out. People set the bar at Terminator 2, and are thus always disappointed. You can't make the same film twice, unless you reboot it, which sucks anyway in my opinion.
After T1 and T2 this is the best by far movie and it didn't deserve the hate it received
Sam Fisher to Batman: "Are we on the same page"
Batman to Sam Fisher: "I don't kill humans"
Well...but Sam does...
Batman should have reacted to Sam "Don't point that gun towards me"
I actually really like this film’s aesthetic. It reminded me of Fallout 3.
Michael Ironside was especially good in this movie
He was great in the V series as well.
Wouldn't expect any less from Lt. Raczak XD
He's great in every movie
This whole set, actors, screens... looks like mission briefing in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.
Again, where is GDI logo?
“It’s coming from up ahead, but Lambert, when I think guerrilla, I think Kalashnikov”
"I've had enough AKs fired at me in my time to tell you, that wasn't one."
Sam?
"-Are you going to say the word monkey?
- N-n-no...
-Then this conversation is over"
I just came here to say that george clooney was the worst batman ever
Actually I agree with you.
The truth
ben affleck is the worst Batman.
Give George Clooney the script and surroundings Ben had and he would be the best Batman.
Even Ben admitted that he couldn’t crack it as Batman, his words.
Best to worst
1. Bale
2. Keaton
3. West
Everyone else equally terrible
Ok Boomer👌
The more time goes by, the more I appreciate this film. Not only for what it is, but for what it tried to do; instead of retreading and rehashing familiar ground like the other sequels did, it tried to take the story in a new direction and do its own thing. They really should have given it a shot and made a trilogy out of this.
I prefer Terminator Slavation with the sequel of T2 than Terminator Rise of Machines.
People hated on this movie when it came out, but look at what we have today...
The face and reaction that Bale makes at 2:33 is a perfect depiction of the "oh, shit!" moment that John Connor would have upon hearing that Skynet somehow already knows about Kyle Reese and his connection to him.
What a shame, that Michael Ironside hasn't given his voice to Sam Fisher after the 2010 _Splinter Cell: Conviction_
Same thing they did with Alex Mason in COD Black Ops Cold War
he had throat cancer stop bitching
Actually play the Ghost Recon games
This is why I love the Director's Cut for this movie, it shows more in depth scenes for consequences of your actions.
The most realistic Terminator, save the first, and probably the 3rd best behind 1 and 2.
In my humble opinion, this is the far more superior Terminator movie than Genisys or Dark Fate. It's all downhill after this!
This movie aged really well dude
this my favorite john connor, the best future john if u asking me
Good, but future John from T2 was the best...all 10 seconds of him lol.
@@chriswilson9331 agree. TS' Connor would be second best :D
This movie was a damn gem
3:18 call John Wick. Say Skynet killed his dog! 😏
More like Sam Fisher interrogating John Conner lol
*smashes John's face into a mirror*
It's nice seeing Sam fisher without his gear
God that voice , Sam Fisher voice i miss you man .
Michael Ironside plus all his appendages
The best John Connor:
Edward Furlong
Christian Bale
Michael Edwards
Nick Stahl
Jason Clarke
They all suck , the real John Connor is the adult version from T2 who had no lines.
The best John Connor: Nick Stahl.
Much better than broke fate by comparison 😒
We were this close to see Live Action Batman against Darkseid
I think a lot of what makes this movie work is Christian Bale.
Say what you want about this movie, but I really enjoyed it.. Not the best Terminator Movie, but miles ahead of Woke Fate, and Genisys
And even T3 for me.
Darkseid and Batman each fighting against a robot uprising for their own sake survival
I closed my eyes. I feel chills because hearing his voice Sam Fisher is pointing a gun in my head.
One of the most underrated movies of all time!
I went and saw this movie twice in theaters. Never understood why people didn't like it.
I remember how much people bitched that Arnold wasn't in this movie. I was so pissed. Because it meant that this movies failure would mean that we could never get another shot at this type of terminator movie again...
0:45 Did he just sit in front of the other guy? Turning back point blank infront of everyone? Alright....
As time goes on this movie gets better and better.
Especially when you compare them to the garbage dump firestorms that are the other sequels.
This was a very underrated movie. I really liked it. The movies that followed were garbage but this one i liked.
Once the humans were set to use it and turned it on accross a larger area Skynet knew they were set and activated the virus to render the first virus null and pinpoint all their locations
I'm not saying the movie didn't have flaws, but it was far more imaginative than the movies that followed.
@@dominickefrim3088 No. You completely failed to understand, which explains why you liked the film I guess.
The leaders of the resistance have a powerpoint presentation specifically set up to show to Connor. And it is set up so that it can be displayed at a moment's notice. Despite the fact that Connor was never supposed to be there in the first place and snuck aboard.
Do you understand the problem now?
@@jimmydesouza4375 so..they can't do powerpoint presentations at a moments notice in the future?
@@dominickefrim3088 You asking that question is sad.
Great movie, highly underrated. After T2, my personal favorite; original story and excellent casting. As far as I'm concerned, the story should have ended with this installment.
I didn't expect to see sam fisher in a terminator movie
Thanks to the successive movies this movie aged well
wow sam fisher in this movie :D
This movie is really good
Holds up in the terminator's franchise and imo is one of the better ones.
This movie was severely underrated.
I'm glad, I haven't watched both, last 2 terminator films at all... and I never hated salvation for no valid reason or took a dig at it, I supported it... Cause I was a fan of it... but reality is because of bunch of few movie critics who gave it bad ratings and stars, the percentages of dislikes and haters grew too too much and it always bugged me... and now everyone has started having a change of heart... calling it a "classic", "aged like a wine", "perfect sequel to T2", just because last 2 terminators outing has gone down the valley so far... bunch of hypocrites... for many of you T2 waa the end of the franchise... how would you accept this movie by any means???... you must learn to have patience to get perfect trilogy or a franchise, shouldn't have been hasty to judge it fully...
Only the AA artilleries and AA missile batteries were camouflaged and hidden.
@@huynhat50 If you are referring to the Vietnam war? The US wasn't going full out on all industry and civilian targets. I mean, if it was Skynet, it would be full nukes on all known airbases and cities. My point is that Skynet fights total war, beyond anything humans fought before.
Bad ass cast. Great soundtrack. Underrated!
Common really loves acting beside charracters with John as names
When Sam Fisher threatens you, you obey.
That's one big-ass submarine room... nice that they leave enough space for hearings
Why does this general remind me of C&C tiberium wars??? Hmm....
0:19 GERMANY, US, RUSSIA, VIETNAM, NIGERIA
Funny to see General Granger I believe still fighting for the GDI after his time against Kane.
this part of the terminator franchise has so much potential... we need bale back as john connor
That is Sam fisher right there ladies and gents. This film was great.
Sam Fisher interrogating John Connor
0:19 GERMANY, US, RUSSIA, VIETNAM, NIGERI
This movie had one great thing. Lt Blair. (Moon Bloodgood) 😍😍😍
Bryce Dallas Howard was better for the role of Kate Brewster in this movie than Claire Danes.
I loved this movie.
Jason Clarke is the best John Connor
Said no one ever
This movie having Kate Connor played Bryce Dallas Howard was much better than the person that played Kate in the third Terminator movie. And the relationship between her and Christian Bale as John Connor.
It's an ok movie don't get it why people hate on it so much
Best terminator movie
Facebook and Snapchat shut down today...Skynet Rebooting? 🤯🤪
0:13 ultra Magnus is that you
All I'm hearing is Sam Fisher talking
Very good video u done here
I give a like 👍
So in beginning, we meet Sam Fisher and later, this movie gave their viewers Alex Mason.
The ORIGINAL Alex Mason...
The only Terminator movie where we see a badass adult John Connor, as he should be.
BEST T2 Sequel
Yep!
Its just me or Is a doppleganger at 02:56?... is Quinn Abercromby from Reign of fire? did we have a multiverse of Connors here?
Me hubiera gustado que siguieran con la linea de esta pelicula :( Bale era el perfecto Jonh Connor
Lamentablemente la película no hizo suficiente dinero para justificar las otras 2 secuelas, que se tenían planeadas originalmente.
John’s reaction to Kyle Reese is brilliant, his survival just became his top priority
Also I love that they keep saying they will end The War but they didn’t know that The War is just beginning, Skynet still hasn’t even developed Plasma Energy Weapons or Time Travel yet, it’s not even until 11 years later in their time that it truly ends, in 2029
