the Black Forest home looks like a proper Norse Longhouse, just need to build the ringfort round it, and antlers where used as pickaxes back to neolithic times in flint mines, a great example is at Grimes Graves in the UK

    - different types of meat are considered different food so you could have 3 types of meat at once, for example meat, neck tail and fish, same for different berries and different mushrooms
    - in order to use the power of Eikhtyr you first have to activate it at the sacrificial stones by pressing E on the head and then press F when you want to use it, it lasts for 5:00 and has 15:00 cool down if I remember right
    - different types of trees provide different type of wood, which will unlock additional blueprints, some trees may require better axe to be cut down
    - surtling cores are found in tombs found in black forest, it's either a rocky structure leading down or a hole in stone so look for those, I found two types of these 'caves' and only one of them had the surlting stones, you theoretically only need 5 of them to get started but you want at least 10 in order to be effective
    - different weapons have different type of damage, exes work well on the tree guys and clubs work well on skeletons, not sure what works well on trolls since you don't want to get close to them so I usually use bow and arrow on them (you can still use any weapon on any enemy and it will do some damage)

The concept of this game is like one of those isekai mangas. Where whatever you do you gain skills, and if you keep doing them you improve them. Pravus soloing a game intended to be a team game is very reminiscent of SAO.

On my 5th playthrough now and close to 500 hours in the game and it is interesting to see the early game opportunities overlooked, just as I did in the beginning. Spawn through Bonemass is a hoot, the Mountain biome is a cinch once you get the Wolf's cape and the Plains is just a grind with some very challenging elements. Enjoying the playthrough.

Antler is insanely hard normally. It's solid compact bone. I'm pretty certain it's harder than bronze. Of course, it's not malleable and i think it's not particularly tough, but when you're looking for something to hit stuff with, antler is one of your better options.

couple of notes for you Parvus
1: if you see some lizard like animals called necks kill them for their tails that can be cooked as a food
2: the tin that you have won't do any good now Hugin will explain what is necessary to use it
and 3: the main threat that i find from greydwarfs is the number of them that is generally in one area if you see one there is usually at least two or more in the immediate area

The trick I learned about the hoe is as follows:
If you "click" with the hoe, it brings the ground as close as it can to your height. If you "shift-click" with the hoe, it levels the ground around to the height you're pointing at.

I can only imagine how confused the boss programming was at Pravus' method of combat. It tries to attack the player, the player randomly keeps running away and closing the gap between them, seemingly at random, the player also isn't attacking for seemingly no reason. The programming figures the player has given up, so sends the boss off to attack something else. The player then attacks the boss, causing aggro and bringing it back to attack. The player then resumes the random and confusing movement and not attacking, so the boss runs off to attack something else again. This cycle continues constantly until the boss eventually dies. Pravus then exclaims that it's a marathon, when a lot of the reason it took so long was because he wasn't actually attacking the boss and kept wasting his stamina by moving around at random for no reason.

Hey Pravus, the leveling ground system took me a while to figure out, it's not really explained at all, but it's actually a pretty solid and simple system:
I'm not entirely sure the game is voxel based, but let's say it is because for these purposes it works that way. So imagine the terrain is like Minecraft (which is also not actually voxel based as you may know), but the blocks are irregularly and dynamically shaped instead of cubic. What the hoe does is that it changes the shape of those blocks, and the "raise ground" feature adds a new block, but you can only delete a block using the pickaxe.
If you use the hoe on the ground, it will raise or lower the top of the blocks in the affected area to the same level your character is standing at. So if you're standing on a slope and you right click with the hoe below you, it will raise the existing blocks as much as possible to the level you're standing at, and if you click on the ground above you, it will lower the ground as much as possible to the level you're standing at. However, *shift* right clicking will do the same but the target height will be where your cursor is pointing, rather than where you are standing. You can see this in the little golden circle and line that makes up the "UI" of the hoe - the circles pulse along a plane on the height that the hoe is trying to reach, so if you see them get interrupted it means that area is above the target height; and the vertical line extends from that plane downwards, showing you the height difference between that plane and the ground below the target height
So let's say you wanna flatten a big area around you. Simply stand in place at the height you want to level the ground to and spam right click all around you. Then keep repeating the process in an expanding area until a big enough space is ready. If there are any bumps in the ground that simply will not go down, that means that block is already as flat as it will go and to remove the bump you need to destroy that block using the pickaxe (this usually leaves a dip in the terrain that is easily fixed with the hoe again). And if there are dips in the terrain that simply will not go up enough, that means that block is already as tall as it will get, and you need to use the hoe's "raise ground" option to create a new block, which you can then flatten to the appropriate height as normal.
Alternatively, if you want to level the ground to a point that already exists, but can't/don't want to stand at that level, simply point at the surface you want the surrounding ground level to and shift right click, using the same process. Note that every single right click will pick a new target height even if you don't let go of shift, so you have to gradually flatten it out if you're using shift click, you can't just hold shift on one point of the terrain, walk to another area while holding it, and level it to where you originally pressed left shift - it will always set the target height to what you're pointing at at that moment. The shift clicking is more useful for fine-tuning slopes and steps than flattening out areas for building. For example, you leveled out a big area but now there's a nearly vertical dip from that, and the ground around it on side? Simply aim the hoe at the mid point of the steep slope, shift right click, and you've created an intermediate step - repeat a few times and you can eventually make a smooth and natural looking transition between the leveled area and the original surrounding surface.

thats a fantastic explanation. i've been struggling to fine tune the land around my house. its either going too low and the floor of the house is floating, or its too high and clipping inside.. and the slope outside the door is death defying.. wouldnt fancy it on an icy morning.. so i'll try and put your instruction into action

The greydwarf NPCs are afraid of fire, so the torch makes them back off, and if ya smack them with it they take more damage and are set on fire, taking even more. Part of the game is learning which weapon to use against which enemies, iirc the club is best for skeletons.

I'd recommend never to go on adventures at night. The debuffs cold and wet drastically reduce your stamina regeneration and if you are not rested anymore after sleeping, then you have a very bad time with regenerating stamina. Especially if you are not geared in the region's material, in this case bronze, you can easily get yourself outmaneuvred.
