Wait they’re actually adding a Greenland airport? That’s hilarious, it’s definitely in reference to Nuuk International Airport being greatly expanded last month
Fun fact: Archaea actually include Eukaryotes as a clade, due to genetic evidence (nuclear DNA, that is the DNA inside the nucleus of the cell), and the discovery of the genus Lokiarchaeum (Loki archaean, originating from the Norse trickster deity Loki, and the greek word ἀρχαῖος, which translates to ancient, and would be Romanized as archaîos or arkhaîos), which shares several genes that otherwise are only found in eukaryotes. So this means that every time that you play as a fungus, parasite (unclear what it is, but it seems to be a "protozoan", which is an obsolete category of eukaryotes that were thought to be ancestral to animals until genetic studies revealed that not all protozoans were closely related to each other, some more closely related to animals, some more closely related to fungi, some more closely related to plants, and some very distant to any of the 3 well known kingdoms) or neurax worm (almost certainly an animal), you are playing as an archaean.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, your main issues in winning the scenario are urban transmission and the symptom costs. IIRC, there are genes that actually freeze symptom costs (in exchange for making the cure go faster) and boosts urban infectivity. If this scenario allows you to choose your own genes, maybe using those will make this scenario easier? Idk, just a thought. Great video, really enjoyed it!
... so I decided to try and explore this scenario to try and figure out what was supposed the engage the transmission trait under the third in the dust chain, and I ended up getting so confused I decided I needed to figure out how to reverse engineer the scenario to figure out (to use a technical term) what the fuck was going on and uh... it's, how you say... "scuffed", as there are a few things that are IN the files but never work to their full effect I have shared all my findings to the scenario creator via the discussion tab on the scenario's workshop page, and I will preface this with the fact that I am only smart with basic computer use in general and have no experience in scenario creation; but the most notable things I found are a. there is a second tree in the symptoms tab that never shows up because the wrong symptom was set as the trees start, and b. the "archeol" set of abilities only exist for a "win condition" event that never engages... overall, I find the dormant things that lie in the files very interesting, and I think this scenario could warrant a very prompt revisit if they end up being repaired into a functional state
The wind blows like crazy, Christmas is at the corner, I got a noti for upload I see Pravus and click like a follower (This was made up on the fly but it's still one of the poems of all time)
I think the problem is that this is so heavily focused on transmissions in extreme environments (fitting for an Archaea) that they forgot to give you any way to deal with the countries that simply don't have anything extreme. There aren't many countries like that in the game, but China and the USA are, and they are two of the most important (it's also funny because it's not like their climates are actually neutral, they're so widely varied that they just went for no modifier because none of them would be fitting for the entire country). Any way to boost up urban transmission would fix this. If you want to phrase it as an extremophile, maybe make it something like "antiseptic resistance".
Bruh, it’s been 2 years and he’s still playing my scenario. I can tell because it’s always at or near the top of his subscribed tab.
What is ur scenario
@Kingjohnof
You know the troll one. Ndemic actually just officially put in on the popular tab for custom scenarios.
How cool ☺️
The original troll plague or ultimate troll plague? There were two of those if I recall right @@Revolution9machspeed
Deserved frankly!
It’s a fantastic scenario.
