I'm still considering resin printing. It would definitely do what I'm after; make my own minis (for my own personal use, of course). Trying to print stuff like that in FDM has been disappointing.

so im just got into warhammer and to be real GW isnt even on par with the model making. bandai and every other model company shits on GW in my eyes that why i started getting 3d printed models. i wanna play warhammer not spend my life saving for this shit.

How are you heating your printers in the garage while in a grow tent? Fermentation belt, ceramic heater or something else?

I know that I am not in a place (physically or financially) where I can get into resin 3D printing but this video really does help inform on what's needed and what to keep in mind. Do you have specific product suggestion videos? (I'm completely new here, this is the first vid from you that the YT algorithm's have sent my way).

Great video! I've met quite a few people who bought printers and didn't realize the work that would go into it. I finally bit the bullet and bought a resin printer. I didn't take into account the cost of all of the PPE and other things I'd need with it. Fortunately, I kind of enjoy the process of starting with a fluid and ending with a finished mini that I can paint and use.

Thanks for this video. After watching this I think that resin 3d printing isn't for me simply because I live in an apartment and don't have the space or proper ventilation to use it properly.

There are so many "normal people shouldn't be doing this" moments with resin. Some random ones: 1) I use a cheap countertop water still to reclaim my wash methanol, but I wouldn't recommend anyone do that unless they know what they're doing fire safety wise. 2) I got some awesome "presupported" bird beastman models... that are aggressively over-supported. Like 10+ minutes a model to clean up even with hot water, and I still I broke a few feathers and arrows. I decided it would take less time to redo the supports than hack through the jungle during cleanup. Yay, more time in Lychee. 🙃 3) Multi-exposure in UVTools has been the best way to dial in resin settings for my Mars 3 - UVTools is dope, but it doesn't feel fair to expect any normal person to navigate that UI.

Gws price hikes haven’t gotten so bad with what little they give in the kits that I can no longer defend them on the “don’t 3d print” arguement. So much so that I’ve looked and priced resin 3d printers sold at my local microcenters which are priced affordably. Just gotta save and also watch this to see what else I’ll need to invest in when I finally purchase said printer.

The amount of 3d resin printers I have seen on FB Market place that say in the description" Only used a few times, found out it wasn't for me" or " tried it but didn't really like using resin" is very common. Thanks for showing the full process and what it's like.

Just not going to go near resin. I’m waiting for an A1 upgrade which has two print heads, so that miniatures are possible with support contact points printed with another filament without needing to purge the nozzle each time. I can live with the quality issues compared to resin. I just can’t be dealing with toxic resin.

I treat the uncured resin like an infectious disease. Basically, anything that has been in contact with the resin, like gloves and tools, must stay in the contaminated space or be safely disposed of.

Can you please share the settings that you use for printing miniatures for NOVA3D Water Washable Tough Resin? Saturn 4 Ultra if that helps.

These turned out great! The Greytide bits are amazing, and you've managed to match the arms to the bodies to capture poses that are dynamic - some arms just aren't great fits for certain torso postures.

I'm doing resin printing in a finished garage. I have the printer next to an opened window. The garage is like 25 feet by 25 feet. Should I worry about ventilation if I'm opening the window? Since the space is wide open do i need to keep a respirator on even if im working on something else across the room while printing??

Hello, i’ve some kind of problem with this.. today I was firstly airbrushing, then i cleaned it and now when i put anything into the cup i eats the liquid inside a dipping out around nozzle, but no spray, have anyone get any solution?

Dude...print one of the plastic scrapers that comes on the memory card with the printer and use that to get that initial bit of extrusion off the front of the plate. It'll pop off like nothing every time.

This was helpful! I have been trying to find out if Hextech terrain can be printed (will fit) on the A1 Mini and that’s exactly what you have in your video! I still need to find out if the walls can fit, but your suggestion to download the software to test was a lightbulb moment for me (why didn’t I think of that???)

The only thing stopping me using this is 1- just started with a a1 mini ( first 3d printer ever ) and 2- I am using this machine in a semi truck.

The printer is discontinued now but worth noting for anyone getting it: poor protection against resin spillage. You should always be careful but shit happens and in my case resin got into the giant hole to the motor and the thing got jammed up. The spillage also gets into the vat screw holes and requires time and isopropyl to fix.

For US customers: Not coming to the US for a long time according to the creator due to “legal reasons” there’s a very similar mod on maker world where you print out everything and don’t have to pay $75 for screws.

Hello ! Could you share the detailled settings you used (to use with another printer such as my Elegoo Mars 3) please ? I'm especially curious about the exposure times (bottom and normal) and light delay time. I have some big adhesion issues with this one (I usually use Sunlu ABS like without any problem).

I’ve heard of people, though I’ve never seen a test or done it myself self, of doing a 1 part flexible 9 parts abs-like to get a more plasticity out of the prints
