Cmdr. Chris Hadfield Explains Why Space Exploration Matters
Вставка

- Among the billions of people inspired by Neil Armstrong's 'one small step' in July 1969 was a young Chris Hadfield of Sarnia Ontario. Who would grow up to become a fighter pilot, shuttle astronaut, the first Canadian to walk in space, and the first Canadian to command the International Space Station, and a rock star. Today, Chris Hadfield and Lorna go way, way, way beyond the headlines for a well-travelled discussion on the heavens and the earth. Is space travel worth the billions of dollars invested? And how does a God's eye view of the planet shapes one's view of life, death, and forever.

I love how Chris look around and Say hi! With his smile. Specially when he look behind him very delighted
What a Legend!
This comment section is cancer.
Pharozos a
the way he describes how he had to adapt the holding of the guitar in weightlessness is interesting and funny
I think Chris Hadfield is one of the most interesting persons in this world! He spent so much time in space, and he might know more than we all do! He saw the most beauty and also the worst of our planet and he is just awesome. Colonel Chris Hadfield is maybe not allowed to talk about all, but I think he knows a lot!!
Such a smart & classy man. Love watching his videos!
“Space oddity” was released the very day my father was born, 9 days before the eagle landed at tranquility base.
I didn’t know about the song/dad connection when Hadfield’s song released. I just thought “he could sung something better”
After I learned Date the song was released was the same day my dad was released I now love this song.
Or I want to enough that I’ve filled myself.
A truly inspirational man
Gosh what kind of friggin comment section is this. Get your head out of your ass people, this is 2018 and we understand how the earth, sun and stars work.
8:49 omg scary...
A great man, with fine words also. Today's issues are quite the challenge. What sociological sorcery could get people to see and work together?
It's interesting to think what capability alongside amount of history. we were able to record in the past, say with with just pen, paper then before-hand, to what we are able to record, see and do now. Do you think we would learn? With everyone carrying a literal camera in their pocket, they still see with their eyes.. I would like to think people are more aware, that they are not attacking their own, but then thoughts extent is not greater than it's immediate environment.
What can be found in so many words? What can be found in the reader? Using another's name, a manner of handling, often done in a poor yet adjunct manner, as if to offend. People shouting into an abyss? Yet all their voices of equal momentum?
Ok, so when I watched the Apollo 11 in July 1969 with 7 years old, together with my family and my grandfather we were all liars? That gigantic Moon Rocket watched live by thousands of people went to nowhere, is that what all "flat people" want to tell us?
Philippe thanks, I think we are in a "Big Universe" - but however we are in the Galaxy of "Milky Way!" The Galaxy of Milky Way is estimated of having 100 to 300 Billions of stars with their own planets, and there are Billions of Galaxies!
I think, all we can do is taking care for each other, and yes, I think there is a God or some "Superpower of Love"! Love is the most powerful thing in this universe!
Just because it's on TV doesn't mean its real..... you didnt watch it with you bare eyes. You werent there. So many live things can be staged easily... come on man. Anyone knows better than not knowing the possibility of TV being NOT real...
Tim Hortons in space haha cool!
"Among the billions of people inspired by Neil Armstrong's 'one small step' " migh be a bit of an overstatement. I mean, the moon landing was viewed by 500 millions people. "Millions" would have been a better chosen word.
You didn’t need to watch it live to be inspired.
I was born in 1993
It inspires me, all Apollo,Gemini and Mercury missions do.
But now it’s accomplished it’s Jack Kennedy’s speech at rice university that inspires me most.
I wonder how much it costs to take a guitar to the ISS?
According to NASA, equipment is costed $10,000 per kilogram.
R u relly awesome
no
im not
Hi Asm16.15 O'clock th 30/12/2018 Hi ออกรายการอีกแล้ว lol lol lol. ดังใหญ่ lol lol lol
Pluto is a planet! Why? I named my first dog after the smallest Planet Pluto. That was 1954. So you are wrong Pluto is a planet.
Astronomers re-classified the definition of Pluto's role a decade back or so. It is not a planet of the solar system.
@@teflonpan115If my Fox Terrier was happy to be named after the smallest planet in our galaxy who am I to argue. Besides he was always a star to me.
So space travel is a means to give fools sight to think past themselves? Great. What a good way to blow decades of potential and tons of money
Is this international play station stuff supposed to be taken seriously ? ? ?
They talk on the news like it's really up there .....
I thought it was all just comedy ( Don Pettit with his "We lost the technology" routine ) and sci fi......
With a few music videos (Hadfield)....WTF ?
If you're good, you can literally take out a telescope and fucking photograph the ISS, and see its physical features. Even if you don't, you can see it slowly travel across the sky just after twilight. Do you need any more proof?
@@vulture4117 and if you're really good you'll know that there are no spacemen riding around the earth...lol...
@@silki4821 Then let me know how they get extended footage of people in microgravity, sometimes hours long (much longer than the vomit comet's 20 seconds)
lies
This guy Chris is full of BS and an actor, nothing more.
I thought he was only in an low orbit on ISS , what he can know about higher space?
He's just a soldier and in my opinion they don't know nothing about a space.
+Marek Olszewski What can you say he knows about higher space from a low orbit when you haven't been to either? Just being in such close proximity can some times open up a world, no pun intended, or knowledge
Kyo Altera What about Apollo's mission , Mars rover landing , where they in the deep space or just in a lower orbit , how should we know , nobody from us was there , either for you or me any space it's just a matter of faith, you can believe it or not right and you're clearly the believer. Unfortunately i know that people are liars and recently they're masters in lies.
Neil Armstrong etc... they can say something about the space and space voyage ,
Chris Hatfield is as a marine biologist in a swimming pool rather and can say something about speedos
You'll have to hear a speech of Neil Armstrong or his colleagues about the real space , not just a lower orbit. They're the true heroes... ISS is nothing comparing to the moon missions. Only moon missions are matter and their experience is important. Simply saying ISS after the moon landings is like going back from a university back to primary school. Finally you don't need to go to the space or have any degree, education or experience with regards to space to be able to recognise a bunch a lies. With respect to the real "space pioneers" of course if the space exist.
Oh, so which one of the Apollo Astronauts spent 6 MONTHS in space?
