This band always holds a special place in my heart lol. Their song "High School Never Ends" is still the most accurate and real song I've ever heard lol.
Same
Me and a friend of mine used to always play their stuff on full while we were playing games.
Punk Rock 101 was hilarious when it first came out too. It’s a little outdated now but it holds true to that era.
Fun fact! They’re the ones who performed the theme song in Phineas and Ferb! :) The voice is iconic.
They were also Love Handle
And Jimmy Neutron
Jaret Reddick of bowling for soup also did “endless possibility” which was the main theme for sonic unleashed
CLASSIC SONG, as a fellow 90's baby this hits nostaglia haha, my personal fav by bowling for soup though is "girl all the bad guys want"
Almost and High school Never Ends as well
They did a remake of Girls all the bad guys want, If I remember correctly? something about post malone ?
Same thats the very first song I heard from them
Ohio (Come back to Texas) is my all-time fav by them.
This whole album is a banger
The original version by SR-71 is dope as well.
Born in early 1970's..I really miss the simpler times of 1980's love all the music. This song brings back a lot of memories. ✌️
I got to see Bowling For Soup live when they flew out to my aircraft carrier on deployment. They put on an amazing show and even covered Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne because so many people thought it was their song.
1985 .. originally performed by
SR-71
They did that same thing (played Stacey's mom) at the show I went to ❤️
Songs by Bowling For Soup that you can listen to:
1. High School Never Ends
2. Girl All the Bad Guys Want
3. Almost
4. Getting Old Sucks
5. Where's the Love
Punk rock 101 thoooooooo
Getting old sucks is a banger. And Hey Diane
@@Knackersjewels 😎
Fun fact: bowling for soup played the band “Love Handel” on phineas and Ferb
All my years in elementary school were spent jamming out to this song, and I made all my screen names end with either 1985 or 5891 😂
The look on Alex face is priceless. The endless smile. Just killer
This song literally was the first punk rock song I heard outside of normal music with your parents. 6th grade was beautiful times man! From BFS to Falling in Reverse and Ice Nine Kills. Thank you 1985!!
What a quality song, it definitely hits the nostalgic button.
I still listen to this song.
Bowling for Soup is a really fun band, I think you would enjoy a lot of their songs. They aren’t the heaviest band, obviously, but the humor and catchiness they put in their music is infectious.
Definitely recommend checking out more of their songs (“High School Never Ends”, “Girl All the Bad Guys Want” and “Almost” are good ones to check out).
Such a Classic song(it gives me nostalgia and i was born in 2006)
Yes check out Blondie and the song "One way or another" definitely the most punk song✌️
Great tune but far from their most punk rock tune... I'm pushing for Attack of the Giant Ants. :D
This was my song back in 2008-2010. 1985 and almost will have a special place in my heart.
I don't know if anybody else mentioned this. The woman in the video is Tawny Kitaen who really DID "shake her ass on the hood of Whitesnake's car" in the video for "Here I Go Again" (1987) and married its lead singer, David Coverdale, in 1989 (div. 1991). Unfortunately she passed in 2021 from heart disease.
Further listens: I would recommend "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" and "Almost" from Bowling for Soup!
Oh man BFS by far has always been one of my favorite bands! Watching you react to this made me smile from beginning to end! Would love to see you do more reactions to them! Almost, Girl All the Bad Guys Want, Getting Old Sucks are 10/10 recommends!
Love this band
👍💯👍. Just when you thought you heard it all, Alex reacts to a song I never heard 😂
The woman on the car was a reference to the 1987 White Snake music video, "Here I Go Again." It featured the late Twany Kitaen dancing on the hood of a car.
Blondie songs:
"One Way Or Another"
"Heart Of Glass"
"Rapture"
"Call Me"
"The Tide Is High"
✌️
Dude B4S, Bloodhoung Gang and Alien Ant Farm were the comedians of music in early 2000's. Loved New Found Glory - My Friends Over You. So nostalgic listening to this music man. Teenage years were awesome. Chilled out, smoked week and listened metal and rock all the time...ahh..where the time goes. Can't help but smile when you hear this song.
Take 2, let's go.
This song is ULTRA nostalgic for me, and you said it perfectly: 4th, 5th, 6th grade... this was everywhere. Even though I wasn't around in 1985, this definitely makes me feel it. Bowling For Soup was (and is) so good.
Yes, you should react to Blondie, and I would suggest a lil' Battle of the Bands with Blondie and In This Moment doing "Call Me".
I'm sure you know this, but RHCP just released a new video. I would love to see you react to the new song as someone who is intimately familiar with their existing catalog.
MY teen/early 20's was the 80's and when this song came out I thought someone had secretly placed a microphone on me somewhere to make the words to the song. This is all the stuff I used to bitch about and wish was back. Such a relatable song, even now.
Alex completely missing all the references to old music videos in this video, including the lady dancing on the hood.
😂🤣😂🤣
There are so many references in here and the lyrics.
You should react to "Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody's Doing It)" or "High School Never Ends" or "My Wena" or "No Hablo Ingles". Those are all some great songs from BFS. They also have some great serious songs like "A-Hole" or "When We Die"
Loved the song before i knew it was an SR71 cover,. still AMAZING!!!
This song and Stacies Mom were big on my listening rotation around the same time. Was a a Junior or Senior in highschool when this came out.
This type of music hits hard for this 80s baby.
You should check out some Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, maybe start with Born to Run. Here’s some useless trivia…Max Weinberg is the E Street drummer and his son, Jay, is the drummer in Slipknot. Jay subbed for his dad on part of the Springsteen tour in 2008.
Yes, BRUUUCCEEE!!
Backstreets
Jungleland
Born to Run
Prove It All Night (78 Live Passaic NJ)
Excellent song & band! And this vlog is also nice!
Please do more of bowling for soup one my favorite bands in the world !!
I swear they wrote songs about my entire time in Highschool. Love this song
I used to listen to them a lot when I was younger, and I still do. Their music is so good. Plus so many of their songs are so funny. I can't help but smile and chuckle when I listen to them
I still have the sock I used to this song. Great memories...
Bowling for soup is legendary ^^
These boys are iconic. Old schoolmates of mine. Saw their first show. Good to see them on your channel.
Finally Bowling For Soup!!! There needs to be more BFS reactions. I absolutely love these guys so much!
AWESOME ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can kind of relate to the lady in the video (yes, I'm that old). You should check out Whitesnake "Here I Go Again" (the 1987 version). That song had us all wanting to dance on our cars.
Almost was my first bowling for soup song. I left a tape recorder next to a radio while I ate dinner at grandma's and played it on repeat in the cul-de-sac. Loved them
I’ve always loved this song (being an 80’s child) but I hadn’t ever seen the video for it. Oh man, that was hilarious. So many memories! If you liked the car dancing, you need to watch some Whitesnake videos!
Scary that the same amount of time passed from 85 to this song, as this song to today.....
Seen em live in a cornfield just north of Pittsburg KS. Tons of fun!!
Damn I forgot all about this band I use to love this song back in the day 😂😂😂
The first Cd that I can remember actually buying myself was Drunk Enough To Dance
hearing them reminds me of simpler times.
I really enjoy your reactions. It really fun to get into the music time machine. Each time I view a reaction video it takes me back to a different time/place. Those time/place scenarios are gone forever and can't ever be recreated. But damn, it's fun to go back in one's mind and cherry pick the good times.
Like a bunch of people here, this soooooo reminds me of my own teenage time, being in highschool at the begining of the 80s... The discovery of music, either "actual" (from an 80 point of view 😄) or "oldies" (yup... 60s and 70s stuff!! 😆)
Marillion (Misplaced Childhood), Iron Maiden (Power Slave), Metallica (Kill 'em All), Duran Duran (Rio)... and Rush (2112), Stevie Wright (Evie), Jethro Tull (Thick as a Brick), Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon)... so many bands and songs... so many... 🤩
Another great thing is that they recently started releasing new stuff (May 2021), and it still has that perfectly *them* sound. "Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody's Doing It)" is such a great follow-up to this song. I feel like "High School Never Ends", this song, and the aforementioned "Getting Old Sucks" is a perfect trifecta of songs to listen to for that "holy crap I'm getting old but dang this music slaps" kind of vibe.
Saw these guys live on my birthday like 15 years ago. They were so funny and entertaining.
My Hometown by Bowling For Soup is also freaking great. Love their album that it’s on.
I recently bought this album out of sheer nostalgia, never gets old man
I was 19 in 1985 starting four years in the Marnie Corps. Every reference in this video I remember being there for it. Yes, you should react to Blondie.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 such a fun song!
Your stache looks straight out of 1985 Haha. I was born in 80 so I always liked this song
Honestly would love to see you react to 80s music hahah
We must have the same playlists in our heads because I was singing this song all day last Tuesday
thumbs up for the reference to Leo.
Ironic with Valentine's Day coming up but Why Don't I Miss You is one of my favourites from them.
Thanks for the approval. Just bought the Apple Watch 7 for myself 30 minutes ago. The wife's b-day is in 2 days.
I feel this song in a very deep way lol
The sad part of this highlights how time flies...this song came out in 2004 and the band is singing about 19 years prior (1985).
Next year is 2023, and that will be 19 years since this song came out...so essentially if an artist made a song next year about the same passage of time, they would be signing about 2004. Which is nuts.
Emperor-Curse you all men!
Please do more of this band
love this band, got to see them live at a club i was working at.. they were all super cool guys.
Alex! New Arch Enemy dropped. You gotta react to this one, I had chills the whole time. Song is Handshake with Hell
Still it's a cover from SR-71. A band, which - in my opinion - deserves way more attention. Still great song, great band and great reaction as always. Love from Germany!
I love it so much. Ah the memories lol
The great thing about this video is that the woman is Tawny Kitaen, and she actually is the one that shook her ass on the hood of Whitesnake's car in the "Here I Go Again" video.
That was the comment I was going to make, that line always make me laugh
Yep. Came here to make this comment but wanted to make sure someone hadn’t beaten me to it. Well done. 👏🏻
I absolutely love Bowling for Soup and this is favorite from them. Also it was the year I was born
FINALLY! A UA-camr has reacted to this awesome song! Hopefully Mr. Video and other UA-camrs will react to 1985 as well. Alex, now react to White snake - Here I Go Again. The video and you'll see why that video and White snake are ..... similar. Lol
more 2000s pop punk! girl all the bad guys want by them or almost, both have really good music videos too
Shine by Collective Soul...classic 90s song Mr. Hefner.
Keep on this train, Trucker Hat, (Ohio) Come Back To Texas. The album this track is on is a fucking classic.
I forgot how cool this song and is. Was I could go back to 1985. Would love to be 8 years old and watching good MTV. Love the parodies of the classic videos.
Bowling for soup is awesome Bowling for soup almost is a must I ran cover and girl all the bad guys went
Dude, you have to react to Alexa Bliss or Getting Old Sucks next. Both of those songs are really good and fun to listen to.
Now we need Girl All The Bad Guys Want and Punk Rock 101
And since you mentioned Blondie, you will have absolutely heard One Way Or Another and Call Me at some point in your life without knowing, but you should also check out Atomic
Also Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne :P
They played the intro to Phineas and Ferb! Also played as Love Handle from that show 😅 this band gives me so much nostalgia to when I would watch that show as a kid. That show got me into them!
Yes, you should check Blondie out: "Heart of Glass", "Rapture", and "Call on Me" are good choices.
Correction: "Call Me" is the third song.
I love bowling for soup. Other great songs : Come Back to Texas, High School Never Ends, Almost, etc
‘85 was such an awesome time.
Since we are in the genre… May I suggest ‘We’re All To Blame’ by Sum 41…
It’s crazy man. All of us early 90s kids are now in the same boat. But instead we’re still preoccupied with 2005 Emo, Numetal, Metalcore and deathcore.
95 baby here. My whole life my mom preached to me the importance of such bands as The Ramones, The Clash, and a host of other acts she got to see live lol
So, I see this reaction is almost a year old--but--as a side note, the girl in the video is actually Tawny Kitaen. She was married to David Coverdale of Whitesnake back in the 1980's and appeared in several of their videos. The line "she was gonna shake her ass on the hood of Whitesnake's car" is actually a reference to her dancing and writhing around on the hood of a car in the video for Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again".
When the band approached her (Tawny) about being in the video she agreed with the guarantee that she would "be able to comically roll around on the hood of a car" due to the "Whitesnake" line.
Hey Alex 1985 was awesome I loved it I missed the '80s I wish I can go back and then on the end of that video that was cool where the band was dressed up like motley Crue and the neighbor was acting out tawny kitaens role in the whitesnake video. Maybe you can ask your mom to sit in with you and talk about what the '80s were like for her.
OMG THE NOSTALGIA AAAAAAAH
Bowling for soup- always.....get it Alex.
😂🤣😂🤣😅 definitely did the dirty to this back in the day...🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Insert elmo gif..... oh well 🤷🏼♂️😂🤣😅
Bowling For Soup are such a great band. I have a BFS tattoo because these dudes helped me through alot of bad times.
As someone who was in high school in the mid 80s, I can relate. I flipped out the first time the local oldies station played Bon Jovi.
1985. I was 14 living in Daytona Beach. Life was perfect.
Bowling For Soup is my favorite band back when I was a kid and still now as an adult
John Doyle mentioned it and I have been trying to find it and ended up here. Hi.
You gotta check out Here's You're Freakin Song by these guys. It's hilarious
My step brother used to work for BFS. He would sell merch at their concerts way back in the day, for years. Best part about it was I would get alot of free shit as a kid lol, usually a Tshirt or a CD
Next up: "I'm just a kid" by Simple Plan
As for BLONDIE.... check out the song Dreaming .
Trust me.
Debi is INSAINLY gorgeous, and the lyrics.... will really make you nostalgic for the 80's, even if you weren't there.
Song is incredible.
They did an updated version and it's hilarious
