A great Realtor is worth their weight in gold. A bad one? Well, that is where the horror stories start.
People often have no idea how to select a Realtor. Well the good news is that I have worked with thousands of Realtors over the years and in this video I share how I would select a Realtor. It is important to remember the Realtor is KEY to you finding the house that you want to live in forever so you need a A++ home hunter. They also negotiate that deal so you need a A+ negotiator.
Need a mortgage? That is where I come in:)

Look for a lender and agent who have the heart of a teacher. :)
Good call!
Great advice. As first time home buyers, we started with a part time family friend and it was a dumpster fire. She showed us 3 houses and expected us to pick one of the three even though none of them were anything we asked for. She required us to use her preferred lender (found out later that is illegal) even though we were already pre-approved and pre-qualified, and it was just an absolute train wreck. We fired her after being in the market for 5 months and found a husband and wife team that were worth their weight in gold. The husband took us to all the houses we wanted to see and the wife negotiated the contract. We toured 9 homes in a weekend and got our offer accepted on Monday. I cant stress enough how having a good realtor on your side is so important, and i will be much more deliberate about who we choose to work with in the future.
Thank you for sharing your story. I agree 100% and see it on the daily. The difference a good real estate agent can make is jaw dropping. Literally the difference between finding a house and being a renter forever.
She watches way too much HGTV 😂
I watch your videos everyday 😊
Great video! I myself am a junior agent, but ive done 14 transactions in my first year here in south Texas. Ive been recruited by every top broker, but im sticking with my boutique brokerage between me and my boss we did $30m in a down market. My last buyer got a 310k appraisal i negotiated his purchase to 260k very happy moment getting him that equity. ❤ some of us care alot you observations are spot on!
That is fantastic!
Always great info Jen ❤️ btw I love the kitchen backdrop videos 😉
Thank you!! I appreciate it😊
One of your best videos. Great information and very genuine, as always.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching😁
I am new subscriber & viewer, Thank you so much for all this info!
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for subbing!😊
I had an agent call me because I was looking at his site, but, he was very pushy. Like, "time is money" and he said, most realtors won't work hard for you if you don't show that you are really interested. Or, like I was being too picky. Hey, I'm the one looking for a house and it's my terms, so to speak. I don't want a house pushed down my throat. Just wanted to share.
He sounds terrible
Any other tips for first time sellers?
Good info
Thankyou!
Not everyone jee-haws. Interview agents! I always recommend that to anyone who asks. Even clients I know actively looking to buy or sell. It's not about me, it's all about them. I'm in the Memphis, North MS market area. We currently have way more agents than homes for sale. So, there will be agents scrambling and promising things to be your agent.
Jee haws 😅
Why a property survey takes so long? especially now every surveyor company is running extremely busy.
I can't advise on that as title companies order the survey in most states
What's a property survey?
This was awesome thank you!! Do you have any advice regarding finding a realtor to help locate a place to rent? I am moving to a state I have never lived in and want to rent a place for a year so I can get to know the area before I buy. I know I can contact landlords myself but it makes me feel better having someone physically down there to help and maybe go view the places so I don't have schedule all the showings in one weekend and fly down. I have been putting it off cause I am a little worried about calling around and getting told I am silly and realtors only help purchase homes. 🤣
Where are you moving to? Some areas realtors help but in others you are left to property managers etc
I would check with property managers for sure
@@JenniferBeeston Thank you!
Do you have any real estate agent recommendations for Sacramento, CA?
Can you recommend anyone in Dallas Tx?
Then there are the agents that decide to tell you their personal life story 🤫…keep it professional
Wondering how to find a good realtor to sell land in Lancaster California. They wanted to list it for 13k, I laughed at the "13", yeah know? Plus, 10% commission. Thanks for any suggestions.
I would do some digging on who has sold land there successfully in the past. Go to Zillow look at land look for land that is sold in your area in the last few years. See if there’s a consistent agent that does it call that person.
@@JenniferBeeston thank you for responding 😊
