    Honestly speaking there are many channels teaching about using tools, i would really want to learn about UX in depth and also some really important things like how to give your designs to developer + how to present a case study nicely with good visuals and graphics,mockups. I love your work we have even talked once on insta,i'm glad you've started teaching too.

    For me, a Product designer is still a person who designs physical products. They have skills like 3D modeling, CMF design, form design. They are ones who are usually brilliant in sketching products. Yes, some people choose to call them industrial designers but almost every big institute that teaches "Product design" teaches physical product design. Great video btw... cleared my confusion

    Super Clarifying Video. I see many job portals where in we have to add skills - I see it's written as UI/UX Designer, Product Designer or Product Managment but really couldn't get the actual differences.
    Also, me being a software developer, a recent grad as well - UI/UX is something which is not included or taught in colleges as such as programming. It's when someone enters the industry and then develops interest in it when work gets alloted. I need you to make a video that I can share it with my college juniors, so they even pickup Design as a Career and not every IT Engineer has to become a Programmer

    • @saptarshipr

What more additional skills you need to require to focus on if you're a UX/UI designer. Do you need the capabilities to study data like "CRO"? You talked about "Tradeoffs", should you also need to know about data analysis to understand the user behavior with the product? I know a lot of questions you kinda seemed approachable, so just banking on the chance.

    There's so much ambiguity in titles which ultimately hurts both employer and employee not to mention team moral. I concur with your definitions here Sapta. One question I would submit is... in your experiences and definitions, do you see cultures needing and benefiting from having both a Product Owner and Product Designer on the same team? There's quite a bit of overlap as well as subtle differences. I think this video over-viewing the differences between UX and Product Design is good... perhaps you'll consider offering your opinion for Product Owner vs Product Designer in the future. Thank you.

    • @saptarshipr

Can you also make a video where you talk about the pros and cons of the industry (more focussed on UX design) per se, you know like the challenges/exciting things you experienced as a designer in your career. If someone wants to make a career shift to UX design what are the things to look out for as caveats/be excited about? It'll be really helpful for people on the fringe like me! :)

    Hey Sapta what a video. Great thoughts and knowledge shared buddy. Just wanted to convey my 2 cents. So as you mentioned UX designer normally only take care of User Experience part where they look at other expect of user experience where in Product Designers also do somewhat the same but also look at the revenue and tech side and so on. But dont you think as UX designer its his duty..
    So for example we have to make app for food delivery . So the first thing as UX designer his role involve is understanding the market and need of it. As the example you gave of king. If there is no one to rule there is no king. And also the other expect like revenue, experience and so on. so I would say some where the UX designer and Product designer is same it depends upon the company size. Where in some companies as UX designer you are only looking at user experience and you come in to the picture after research team who understand the needs of the market and then decide on what to work. In some company as UX/Product Designer you might be doing everything.

    • @saptarshipr

      Yeah, agree with you. They are all interlinked. Infact, you just said the same thing that i concluded in the video :)

    I hope you find this comment well. I'm a little concerned about what I should choose between Product Design and User Experience. I know I'm interested in PD but somebody keeps telling me I must go through UX which is I'm not interested. Right now, I'm going to the second year in Symbiosis Institute Of Design. I couldn't tell which one is better for me.

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Rohan, As the video suggests, both are one and same. While the real meaning of the terms may sound different, the work that you get to do will likely be same, if you join a product company as a designer.

      I think what he means to say, and I might be wrong, and this is what I'm facing currently too. I want to make a career switch from engineering to design, which I discovered while taking a drop after graduation. I was really interested in physical products but someone suggested to take the path of UX. I'm kinda confused now
