Thanks for the sub mate, I try my best to be honest with all my videos whether reviewing a bike or kit that is sent to me, too many channels out there just wanting to sound like a late night shopping channel seller :). Ive got some more CarPlay style products being sent to me in the coming weeks so I'll be comparing them to the Chigee once it's installed.
It is almost like it was designed primarily for a motor vehicle rather than a motorcycle. Fixed and hard wired head unit is the killer for this, along with the price, no way will people pay over £600 for this. Except for the blind spot thing, what do you really get extra, if you already have comms, smart phone and action camera. More clutter and possibly more to distract you whilst riding. My other concern would be, over a period of time, how will the vibration affect this unit? Respect once again sir, for your honesty, genuine opinions and views on the product......Refreshing!
It’s one of them, there is some decent features provided but it’s not a perfect product, they need to do a version 2 which could make it really good if done properly. Glad you liked my honest approach with this one. Thought I’d say what the other channels clearly aren’t mentioning 😁🤙🤙
I agree to a degree but for me i have a single bike (Tracer 7) and i am missing the carplay features and would love the camera and tpm system and gps, and should i go out and buy those different unit it would quickly cost the same (at least at the currently reduced price) and they wouldnt tie into the same system. This unit ticks all the boxes for me, as i havent found any gloves that reliably work with my iphone and this comes as the full package. When i trade the bike in 3-8 years, then i can take this system with me if its still worth it. And in the group i know with bikes, most have a single bike that they use for years.
For me the rearview mirror is a very important feature. For that the number of nit of the screen is critically important (at least 1000 nits) to see it in daylight.
@@DSR1YT I have had the BlueSkySea DV988 which is great, at night, but useless during the day as a rearview mirror. I had to install a panoramic rearview mirror for my blindspots during the day, it is incredible. If the daylight visibility is good, it gonna be the bee's knee, with blind spot detector, carplay, navigation and full CANBus compatibility ❤
They reached out to LITERALLY every motovlogger they could identify. And a disturbingly large number of them pretended it wasn't a paid partnership. Didn't give me the warm and fuzzies.
I got that feeling as well mate. That’s why I went with the open and honest approach with mine. I’ll be installing it soon. Just need to find time after work 🤦🏻🤣
I have a chigee AIO 5 lite since April done 3500 miles with no issues . Bought second unit for bmw R9t because BSD now activates the rear camera . First prob is everything works but there is no sound looks like speaker failure from beginning . I wait with bated breath how chigee responds as the only option IMHO is a replacement ….. the way chigee responds will be key to how they are accountable I hope it will be positive as I love their products and wait eager the OBD module ….
Cheers for the honest review, I’m not so worried about theft or permanent on the bike. I did wonder about them being a start-up and the number of software updates that come out for your phone meaning there’s got to be some maintenance and what comes in say iOS 18 in 7months time.

Got this unit. Had it on my Tiger for a while, dismounted in 15 minutes and will install on another bike. my only gripe is the fact that Android Auto frequently looses contact with the unit. Got a JBL Click to "take over" when the chigee gives up to control music. I think this unit is really nice...when it works. Even after loosing connection the camera bits work and also gps/speed and stuff. A five second reset will also usually reestablish connection, which i do when following a route.
Finally! Someone mentioning that this is yet another crowd funded startup! Remember Skully helmets??? Lets see if even one gets shipped first thank you.

The 2 things that make this potentially really good for me is that they sell a mount which would enable me to fit it instead of the Garmin satnav into the dash of my K1600GTL, and they do a canbus interface which is supposed to allow you to control it via the "wonder-wheel" dial on the handlebar. Once in the dash, it would be secure from theft (you have to raise the electric windscreen before you can pop up the satnav enclosure). I have to say, I'm tempted, as my Garmin unit has become unreliable anyway, and I was already looking at fitting dashcams front and rear.
This could be an easy win for you then mate. Ive finally got my GSA back from its service so illl be fitting this very soon. Video to come, dont you worry :)
Really good review that Honest and transparent, thanks. Chigee must have contacted hundreds of Vloggers so as to make it a little bit annoying now when your favourite channel appears with this. However this video explains much more than most i.e. how its a start up company (Red Flag) and the cost of the added extras. I think some will regret plugging this as I fear it will not go into mass production. It's as expensive as a BMW Nav VI which is over priced too but proven, can be dethatched and has back up customer service. The fact that this can't be dethatched is actually ridiculous, it wouldn't last after the first trip to Aldi to pick up bread where I live or in most towns and Cities in the UK for that matter. Nobody doesn't leave their bike unattended at some point as for leaving it overnight, you may as well leave £600 in cash on the seat.

Any of these Chinese companies that offer me commission for sales, I refuse to put my name down for commission. I’ll take the product for review and offer the advice to people on what I think of it. It’s up to them if they want to buy it there after. Also I’m going to start doing giveaways with all the products I get sent and don’t end up using myself full time 😁. I'm currently using a QuadLock setup on my bike that works well; was tempted into this new unit but I agree with you, it needs to be removable to be a viable installation. Too many dodgy, shady people out there.
Excellent assessment of Chigee. This is a crowd funded startup, the product is way over priced for what it is today, they have R&D to pay for and some headcount so they need lots of money from early adopters hence all the add-ons that are also over priced. There is no integration with the bike OBDII port as of yet, only an indication of one down the road but at what cost? This thing could get very very expensive and price itself out of the market. I like the idea behind it but I'll wait to see if they survive and if there is OBD integration in the future, the unit does need to be removable and the GPS should be integrated into the head unit. "LITE" implies there is going to be another version at some point. I would wait and see before jumping in and potentially ending up with a very expensive orphan.
So just this week I’ve actually been able to get around to installing it, and soon I’ll be getting it out for its first test run. Assessment so far is the unit was easy to install, touchscreen is better than some of the other units I’ve been sent by other companies, yet to try out the BSD. As a whole so far i like the idea of everything it offers, it wouldn’t just be nice if the price was a little lower, maybe it will come down as time goes on. The unit needs to be remove-able, agreed on the GPS front, just put it in the unit and it saves another wire and another item being installed somewhere on the bike. Time will tell how this company progress and expand.

Ive also got the Vantrue fitted and will be installing the chigee soon (Bikes only just come back from its service), once this is installed ill be doing a comparison for sure between these two items day & night.
Pretty much every video I’ve watched about this product has it being mounted to a BMW. Maybe BMW riders just seem to have more difficulty navigating than others, but it would be nice to see this system applied to other bikes.

I bought recently and have problems with the can system to control the screen with the original bmw wonder wheel. The can adapter device get´s stuck and keeps on with the motorbike switch off, so in a few days, it drawn the battery. They send me another adapter, but now suddenly the daylight running light doesn´t work. I´m worried about this problem could come across the can adapter.
@@DSR1YT Yes, the rest of the system is working well, I think I´m going to change the wonder wheel adapter for a bluetooth remote control like you show in the video. But the problem is how much will cost me a new led headlight in the BMW dealer. 🥲
I removed the can system because in my case, it always do things i dont want it too when using the turn signal lights. I bought the remote as shown here but also removed it. Why? Because in the many months i used it… i never used the remote. I found myself just using the touchscreen and the buttons on the unit itself
It´s a shame that Garmin couldn´t come up with a integral solution for people to have maps, rearview and front view cameras, recording option, audio, etc., I mean they already have the platform, the users and clients. I bought a cheap screen with a camera some time ago in Amazon, it lasted only a couple of months, then went bad. But this sounds like a good solution. The price tough it´s a bit high for what they offer.

It has some good features. Would love to see the DMD2 from Thork facing to add some blinde spot cameras like this. Then DMD2 would be perfect.

I don't think that theft is going to be an issue. In order to steal that unit, you will have to cut all the wires rendering it useless
Thieves are regularly stealing the GSA TFT screens. Don’t think they are worried about cables there.
They’ll steal anything these days.
