I was tali boyfriend, Legion died in mass effect 2, Legion was a really good friend even if he was a robot. This was one of the hardest decisions in the game for me, after realizing the Quarians where never going to stop hating the Geth and with the Geth just wanting to survive and waning peace I had to decide that they need a chance, the Quarians had wasted their chance just to keep fighting. I felt like shit after doing this, but my Shepard always did what he believed in. They needed a chance

Legion says multiple times how they would accept peace if it was offered. The Geth immediately stop firing the instant the Quarians are no longer aggressive against them. They demand nothing and immediately return the planet and start helping the Quarians return home. Even with peace, it takes Shepard convincing the Quarians to cease fire, not the other way around. But the Geth didn't lead with a peace offering either, until Shepard showed up. Welcome to allies, neighbors, friends, all estranged and turned enemies throughout history. This is a tragedy story. There isn't supposed to be a right and wrong (unless you can thread the needle for peace, which is the reward for being damn good at your job for three games straight). There are no winners here.

@@venomdragon7853 No the geth were not “brainwashed” to join the reapers at least not at the time sovereign was around they CHOSE to join with him and Saren due to a difference in computations amongst the rest of the geth consensus and the remaining geth _let them leave_ . Sovereign made them an offer and they _accepted_ it while the rest of the geth rejected it. It’s the whole reason sovereign was disgusted that the heretic geth revered him as a god, all of that is their own choice. The ultimate goal of the geth was to create a Dyson sphere-like project to house all geth programs, sovereign offered them the technology to do it in exchange for helping him with the reaper invasion and the heretics accepted the request, no brainwashing involved.

I was this close, but like a Lawful Stupid paragon character I chose to honor Koris' wish to save his people and let him die, unfortunately he was the last piece of my puzzle and I lost him. Couldn't Damn the Geth for defending themselves and proceeded to weep like a baby for a good 10 minutes.

I have chosen the Quarians, The Geths we're lying on me while, I was inquiring to Geth VI. So it made me realize, what if these I. A. Betrayed us in the future. I can't afford that. Even if they showed me their origins. Tali fight for her homeworld. Just imagine, if Human homeworld was taken by A. I. For sure we will fight to the death, to retake it. Mine were pretty high (100% I guess?), but I guess I did something wrong in my previous conversations and also advised the quarians to wage war in ME2 (hadn't met legion). I feel like explaining myself because, damn, imagine, how Shepard would feel in real life. Some of these scenes make the story feel so real and not at all like a video game.

When I first watched these on my Xbox I hadn't played me2. So it didn't let me save both and saving geth was the right choice. So i chose geth. But when the qurians started dying I watched with my mouth odisable whole time. When I heard Tali cry... Man :'( now that made me shed a tear!.
That's the point of the dilemma. The quarians are at fault for this war, but they are the people of Tali, one of your most loyal friends (or girlfriend) and can be trusted to help you against the reapers. On the other hand the geth have generally been hostile to Shepard and are especially alien, being inorganic, and therefore difficult to trust. Basically the quarians are in the wrong but you can count on them to be your allies and you've established an emotional connection to them whereas the geth are in the right but have more dubious loyalty. I chose to save the geth from the more brutal perspective that they would be more helpful in fighting the reapers becayse they are showing themselves to be more capable than the quarians right there and we can't take chances when the extinction of all sentience in the galaxy is on the table. Looking back though I was more cold hearted then than I am now and I would probably be stuck sitting at that decision for a long time before resetting the game to manage the peace option as I couldn't bear to betray Tali or Legion.

There's nothing stopping them from siding with the reapers again as soon as things dont go well. Not to mention the quarians were annihilating the geth until the reapers showed up and the geth joined them, so you are wrong about 'the geth proving to be more capable'.
