I so agree. Born in 1957 in Lubbock, Texas. Those were the days, simple, good morals, and most people have family life.
The days, when a handshake meant something.

I grew up in Morristown NJ and enjoyed watching the instructors train the dogs. I was probably in 3rd grade when Atta Girl Kelly was shown on the Wonderful World of Disney. My friends and I would play "Atta Girl Kelly". One of us was Kelly (on all fours), one was the blind person, and one was the trainer. Good memories!

My daddy made us go to Sunday night church. Five hours of church a week not counting revivals and Vactation Bible School. Religious fanatic. Nice family values in Disney Shows aren't around for children today. I loved the animals and outdoors plus the scenery in commercials.

    • @timhaley3459
      @timhaley3459 Рік тому +3

And won't it be wonderful when what Isaiah 35:6 in the Bible says is fulfilled, so that there will no need for seeing-eye dogs, because blindness will be gone, along with all other imperfections. Isaiah 35:6 says: "At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. At that time the lame will leap like the deer, and the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert plain."
This one verse is pictorial of when God, whose name is Jehovah (see Isa 12:2, KJV) will remove the stain of sin that has brought nothing but misery and suffering to mankind. Some are born blind, as was the man at John 9, while others are born with good eye-sight, but age gradually diminishes their sight until they cannot see anything at all, such as Ahijah at 1 Kings 14:4.
Revelation 21:3-5 really sums what Jehovah God will do for his people: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look ! The tent of God is with mankind (or God places his protection over his people like a tent), and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them."
"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain (of heart) be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne (Jehovah God) said: “Look ! I am making all things new (as they were in the garden of Eden, perfect, before the rebellion that caused sin or imperfection to "infect" mankind).” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true."
By means of a heavenly government called God's Kingdom, that Jesus taught his disciples to pray for at Matthew 6:10, this will be accomplished, so that blindness or any other flaw will never afflict obedient mankind again, while they as "meek" ones enjoy everlasting life on a paradise earth in perfect peace, security, health, love and weather.(Ps 37:11, 29)

I was thinking the same thing. There was a message in this movie that's in our Bible. The Shepard never let's his sheep lead a stray. Nowdays, Disney wouldn't dare teach children good things like this. I believe Walt Disney and Roy Disney would roll over in thier graves if they knew what has happened to Disney. Everything they worked hard for is not what they stood for. I think they'd be ashamed of what has happened.

The decency that once existed under the helm of Walt Disney began to change when he and his older brother Roy died (Walt in 1966 and Roy in 1971). When Walt Disney found out that Tommy Kirk was "gay", he fired him in about 1964 (or "quietly let go"), though having played key roles in his films since he about 13 years old (in "Old Yeller" that released in 1954 and "Swiss Family Robinson" in 1960).
But since then, the role of "decency" and cleanness has been cast aside, and a true Christian should NOT be surprised, for Jesus said that during "the last days" (or during his invisible "presence", see Matt 24:3, in which Jesus apostles asked: "What will be the sign of your presence", using the Greek word parousia and NOT "coming" that is the Greek word erchomai, as at Matt 24:30), that "the love of the greater number would grow cold" (Matt 24:12), so that "fellow feeling", compassion, moral cleanness, honesty, trustworthiness has been "thrown under the bus", and now the LBGTQ community "rights" is dominating the news.
But not far into the future, true decency will take "front seat" (as it was before the rebellion in the garden of Eden some 6,000 years ago, see Gen 1:31), because the indecent ones will have been eradicated from the earth at Armageddon, "the war of the great day of God the Almighty".(Rev 16:14, 16)
And then the one who has pushed indecency to the limit, Satan the Devil, will then be symbolically "chained" (or put into "the abyss", that is a state of inactivity or imprisonment), along with his demonic angels at the beginning of Jesus Millennial reign for its 1,000 years (Rev 20:1-3), so that the earth can be transformed into a paradise for "meek" ones to enjoy forever by means of a heavenly government called God's Kingdom.(Ps 37:11, 29; Matt 5:5)

I saw this movie when it originally came on and loved it. I was in a college doctoral program when I first met a blind girl who had a dog named--what else?-- Kelly. In church Kelly would lie at the girl's feet until the pastor said the final "Amen". He always promptly got up. It was a struggle not to pet or interact with him.

I was 16 when this Disney 3 part movie came out on Disney's Sunday evening time slot on NBC TV. I don't remember this movie but, it sure was good to see on UA-cam. Good actors...story line...direction/production and, the unmistakable soundtrack that made by Franklyn Mark's who got good training from Disney's good lineup of composers.
Yes! Disney productions are literally all "Woke" and not Western society true family traditions of past. Sure glad some folks love the "quality of higher standards" to present to many who want back wholesome entertainment.

I grew up in Asian country, where we may have good respectful culture to learn from, but in general we “ the children are restricted to learn about many different kinds of responsibilities and respectable. Certainly know nothing about relationships and numbers kinds of love, not just between children and parents and siblings also boy and girl man and woman. These I found out from Walt Disney and classic old films from 40/ 50/60. Then I compared them all from ours, and realised that, what I learned from old films and family’s film that’s the way I believed is the best.

That Dog learned a lot from that sheep, to protect, she deflected it from the traffic, stayed with it when no matter what, go places she didn’t want to go, & guided it home. All the things she was going to have to do with a future blind master. That was why that whole thing was added to the script. 🥰👍🏻

If you loved this movie, a great book to read is “First Lady of the seeing Eye”. Morris Frank was one of the 1st to train with a Guide dog, and after they had passed, he ended up taking his dog from State to State to try to get laws passed so they could go anywhere with their dogs. Restaurants, Trains, Planes, Busses, everywhere where Dogs were not allowed. It’s a great book. One of my favorites, I had the 1st one wear out & had to buy a new one🥰

look I am not trying to imply the animals should not be trained to help the disadvantaged, but DO IT WITH the disadvantaged in the FIRST place so the animal isn't put through heartache of losing one person after the other. Surely the blind or disadvantaged can be able (with assistance if necessary) to train the pup and bond with it without changing ownership four times. I believe this is cruel behavior toward that little loving animal who has no idea what HUMANS are going to DO TO IT NEXT!!

i wish people did not talk to animals as if they had English lessons. Animals do not understand gibberish, only actions and straight forward words they are taught to actually mean some significance.
