So now we both have a Wabi Special, aarn chainring, Izumi chain, risers, Yoshida track grips, Gator Skins and PDW sparrow cage. All you need now is 75s and we can be bike twins.
Hey Zach, you should do more riding videos, would love to see bike POV city tours of whatever city you’re on! (and probably get some kind of stabilizer) 😁
I just got my first bike about 4 weeks ago. I bought a 6KU URBAN TRACK BIKE, but you make wabi look so cool. If I am still cycling when ever this one wears out, I will get a wabi next.
Be thankful you CAN use a butter knife! There's so many special tools needed for working on bikes in more depth than that, and it gets crazy when you start looking at ones just for wheel building and headset installation. If you want a fixie with true apocalypse-scenario serviceability you have to mess around with ancient frames that use one piece (ashtabula) cranks/bottom brackets. And even then you'll still need to grind down some wrenches for the wheel bearing cones and threaded headset...
Have fun in thai man! Cant wait for the next vlog of the shop with track bike parts u were talking about. Me and wife are going to thailand again on november and will definitely treat her to shopping. And then, my bike shopping hahahha! Be safe man!
I like the ridecam, been watching you for a while and nice to see a continuous ride. Also, can't imagine the mindf#ck of riding on the other side of streets, just watching that made me nervous.
At 10:07 it’s the stop 🛑 signs, one more things please be careful when riding cuz ( SOME ) people tend to not obey or care about the traffic laws and bicyclist in general. P.S hope your enjoy your stay in Thailand, much love from your Thai fans
The chainring bolt tool thing is just the "old" standard and therefore more plentiful and easy to toss in for stock components that are mass manufactured (like Andal)s. New chainring bolts using a smaller hex for the other side are in fact the new standard. Maybe in 10 years you'll see the supply of old bolts liquidated finally.
The cruise reminded me of another channel called One Cyclist In Lisbon. Really enjoyed the street cruising. On your chain set-up, almost sounds like track tight on the slack? I'm running a 48/19 with Izumi, and it's very quiet. Running Thompson Classic straight on my fixed, though I have Nitto pursuit bars and seat post on my road bike. Nitto quality is amazing, and highly recommended.
Years ago I was biking in the UK, and just when I thought I was feeling comfortable biking on the left, I made a right turn. Into the right lane. It takes some getting used to.
Oh, how i wish to be in Thailand now! I like it so much! It was easy for me to learn "left side rules", i'm sure you will learn it quickly too. Good luck! P.s. More vlog vids would be cool!
The Wabi Special looks so great, but the lack of mounts for fenders and racks makes me really question if I should get one. I'm still saving up for my first fixie bike, though, so I guess I've got plenty of time to decide.
Hey Zach, can you point me to or make a video about cons&pros of Miche sprocket vs double cog (two cogs linked together with different nr of teeth). I'm riding fixed gear with aluminum wheels and hubs don't want to damage thread by constant cog changing. Many thanks for your videos overall, helps me a lot. cheers
I was creating a very similar sounding rattling after changing out a bottom bracket that messed up the alignment of the chain. But I also have a very wide cog on my back wheel which is rather unforgiving to any misalignment. My guess is that sound could also be produced by any part of your drivetrain being more worn out than the others, if you replaced anything recently.
This video is awesome great edit. Id also love to see more of the ride with just music. Its was super relaxing to watch. Maybe pull a terry and release and edits awesome video like this and a raw one too. Kisses
little scary looking being on the other side of the road and just the differentness of it. although I did some riding in Japan and that wasn't too bad.
I've been living in apartments for years and always frustrated about it being difficult to wash my bike as I'd have to go do it on the side of a road if I wanted to do it properly. Why did it take this video for me to realise I could just put it in the shower?! I feel so stupid right now
What’s that grinding noise in your drivetrain - say, at about 11:30 - 11:35? It may be that I’m hearing things or confusing something else with drivetrain noise.
I just moved from Virginia Beach which is super flat, to Asheville, NC which is in the mountains. Do you have any tips for riding these mountains fixed ?
Are those Musguards? How are they? Flimsy or stable? I am debating whether to by them or not. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!! Love the vids btw.
I know I'm late but I've been watching your latest videos and I suddenly got this in my recommended wasn't sure if your filipino or not now I know haha :)) ride safe from the Philippines Cebu!
Maaaan, you`re crazy riding in South-East Asia in PANTS)) Me personally, when it`s above 20C, I can only wear shorts. And it`s in Europe! I`ve never been to Taiwan or Thailand, but I can imagine that crazy temperature and humidity there.... P.S. You definitely have to try riding in winter. Real f*cking winter, with snow and ice)
I'm just like u, but the opposite way. I used to riding on left line at Asia, and there is some kind of jet lag when riding at USA for the first time. Takes time to be used to it.
The bolt thing is for people whos power backs off the poorly designed dull sided Allen key bolts that you say work so well. Back off and or snap when a strong rider has those cheep parts on there build
Worst is when you finally strip a bike for deep cleaning after 1.5 years. The other worst is when you have to wait till after winter to clean it because you are stuck in college Edit: didn't realize my bike was so dirty until I had to do repair because I like to just get on and ride. I do not like to do work on it until I have to I usually wipe it down once a month but deep cleaning I do not do much
One way streets were invented in order to facilitate higher speeds for motorized cars, with the result that people keep making mistakes by turning onto them while increasing collision speeds. Everyone accidentally turns into the wrong way on a one way street. I mean, I've even seen cops do that with some regularity. Get rid of all one way streets while reducing the speed limit, and problem solved. Higher speed limits don't work around red lights, because any time you save by going faster is lost at the next red light.
That chain ring noise is Awful and please get rid of the red stem cap it does not go well with the rest of your bike. But love the rest of your video keep up the good work.
So now we both have a Wabi Special, aarn chainring, Izumi chain, risers, Yoshida track grips, Gator Skins and PDW sparrow cage.

zacks bro?
Hey Zach, you should do more riding videos, would love to see bike POV city tours of whatever city you’re on! (and probably get some kind of stabilizer) 😁
Nice to see you ride in these new streets, specially for those of us that haven't traveled those places. I like this kind of format!
Love the POV riding in different countries. It lets a homebody like me live vicariously though you, keep it up!
Yeah, I could definitely not listen to that chainring for long. Sugino Zen all day
To be fair almost all chainrings make noise when they are breaking in. Unworn teath + brand new chain = noise.
I agree - it sounds like something's wrong
i thought the sound might be caused by the chain being too tight?
@@walkersutton That's what I thought.
All my zen makes that similar noise
Hey Zach! Do you have a video about putting a quick release skewers on track hub? Is it posible? Let us know please. Thank you!
Love the vlog. Please keep them coming. It’s like I am touring on vacation with you!
Wow you're really biking thru different cities across the world. Such a futurist approach to a post collegiate life. Very inspiring!

Hey Zach, maybe you can try using mustache bars set upside down to get a balance between flat bars and drop bars. Good video!

I love the fixed gear vlog. I'm kinda missing my fix with @kelseyleigh not posting anymore. Good job! Keep it up!
Fun vid!
Great video, Zach!
Years ago I was biking in the UK, and just when I thought I was feeling comfortable biking on the left, I made a right turn. Into the right lane. It takes some getting used to.
Awesome vid once again

Yeah Zach! Great video.
Oh, how i wish to be in Thailand now! I like it so much! It was easy for me to learn "left side rules", i'm sure you will learn it quickly too. Good luck!

I'm liking "Travelling Zach" 👍🏻
Interested to see what drops you go for too.

Great Videos 😊
little scary looking being on the other side of the road and just the differentness of it. although I did some riding in Japan and that wasn't too bad.
12:52 Looks like my auntie Nili wanted to photo bomb your ride. She is a real piece of work😂👍
I really like that front mudguard thing but what it is called or when can I buy it?
What is making that awful grinding noise every time you pedal? Is that the chainring? Why would you want that?
I've been living in apartments for years and always frustrated about it being difficult to wash my bike as I'd have to go do it on the side of a road if I wanted to do it properly. Why did it take this video for me to realise I could just put it in the shower?! I feel so stupid right now
what do you think of Crew Bike Co.? There isn't a lot of info about them..Curious if you had any thoughts on the District for a beginner Fixie.
Is that rattling sound from the chainring really normal?
What kind of fenders are on Wallace?
Great video & good explanation!😀👍
Nice footage. Seems very humid though.
I almost got on the on ramp to the interstate today so don’t worry.
i totally get what you mean about crossing a street i felt the same way when i went biking in england
What’s that grinding noise in your drivetrain - say, at about 11:30 - 11:35? It may be that I’m hearing things or confusing something else with drivetrain noise.
Youre not stupid zach, All Thai roads have a very bad structure. Im Thai and even i was very confused if i found something like that road. 10:40
Working on bike is part of the fun. Fixing with butter knife LOL I like your handlebar and stem. What are they?
absolutely more riding vids, and bike shops
Yeah man keep the vlgos coming
How wide are the tires?
I just moved from Virginia Beach which is super flat, to Asheville, NC which is in the mountains. Do you have any tips for riding these mountains fixed ?
Top aluminum fixed gear bikes for beginners?
Great vid, when are you coming to Australia?
Are those Musguards? How are they? Flimsy or stable? I am debating whether to by them or not. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!! Love the vids btw.
Hey Zach. My chainring sounds like yours. Wdyt? Its good or not?
Man, bro that's on Hell-Of a bike cleaning, LOL!

Hay zach will you visit your home country?
I know I'm late but I've been watching your latest videos and I suddenly got this in my recommended wasn't sure if your filipino or not now I know haha :)) ride safe from the Philippines Cebu!
What are your thoughts on borneotrack? They sell hand made frames for 580 usd on instagram
Hey Zach, you should get a better mic for riding to eliminate that wind noise.
Maaaan, you`re crazy riding in South-East Asia in PANTS)) Me personally, when it`s above 20C, I can only wear shorts. And it`s in Europe! I`ve never been to Taiwan or Thailand, but I can imagine that crazy temperature and humidity there....

Do more vids like this.
Just Bought a Fixie . Front tire always looks flat.
Where are you in Thailand?
Do an unboxing and assemble a Throne Track Lord bike
Ever thought of going in the Philippines??
Is it perfectly fine to spray down your bike like that?
Hey, do you live in Stockton?
ride in Philippines ?
New red topcap????
"whenever I work on bikes it always takes way longer than I estimate"
I don't know anybody who cleans their bike as thoroughly as you.
We got the same izumi
TruVativ sells a set of five double sided hex chainring bolts for about 10 USD.
They suck.
That's how your bolts back out while your riding. You want sugino nurilled bolts so they can't back out on you
Lol I once turned into oncoming traffic on a one way street before.
The bolt thing is for people whos power backs off the poorly designed dull sided Allen key bolts that you say work so well. Back off and or snap when a strong rider has those cheep parts on there build
This guy just took a shower with his bike. That's dedication

Like the rides. Specially on foreign countries with their rules. Very nice.
6:50
Oh yes, the "scooterfoots", i see that are famous also in Asia, except from Europe
That page say “หยุด” mean “stop”
Go to philippines there's a lot of cyclists you will meet here! Especially here in pampanga, philippines
We have the same chainn
I always ride on the left side of the road...
... when viewed from the opposite direction.😒
DROPPES! !!
