I'd give anything to tour the house and grounds. I can only imagine how sad he was to leave it for the last time knowing he wouldn't die there but he fought to the end. He had to go to LA for the drugs and doctors he needed. He sunk a fortune into Friar Park but he did what he wanted to do. He restored it to his former glory. His wife and son still own it but I don't think they're there that much.
Not to get too sentimental or nostalgic, but... Finding a video filmed during the month in which I was born of my favorite member of my favorite band -- my overall favorite musical icon, truth be told -- sure warms my heart.
A brief and beautiful look back through the ruins of times past when George was about to make waves with his post-Beatles solo work, as well as his mark upon a new old home for a fresh start in Henley…
@Just As the events surrounding George’s purchase of the FP estate happened over 50 years ago, like your/our lost youth, memories of such momentous events are now, poetically-speaking, “ruins of times past”… Hope that clears things-up for you!..
He had already started to make waves with his solo career-the very successful All Things Must and its singles had been released the previous year but yeah, the concert for Bangadesh, etc. was ahead of him in March 1971.
He was about to make waves with his solo work when "All Things Must Pass" was released in November 1970 and topped the chart in February 1971 before this video was shot. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤦♀️.
The first scene shows the obscene amount of work involved in repairing one single fountain. All that digging to find pipes corroded to ruin. Then cutting and probably welding new pipes- just so a little water squirts up? Weeks of hard work. But as a musician George could appreciate work that you can stand back and say, 'I built that'. Of could that good work will eventually corrode and the process repeats. All things corrode..
16mm is plenty. 35 is what movies are shot on them transferred to 70 for theaters. Pretty sure no portable (handheld) 35mm back then. 8mm ain’t bad in the right hands and 16 shoudl surfice most projects
Not true. You don't even know what you're talking about. You're nobody, nothing. George Harrison was very musically talented! Get out of here with your unnecessary hate.
To have lived a life like that already and still 2 years off 30, amazing.
If I had to pick 5 places to see before I die, Friar Park would be Number One.

What about after?
Really??
❤❤👍👍🙏🙏
I think George definitely had the best ‘Beatle house’… it is a truly magnificent pile in a really beautiful setting!
Interesting how John also had a large country estate and proportionately large house.. evidently had no interest in it, totally opposite from George.
Now that’s a proper rock stars house!!
My favourite beatle..RIP george .
His voice sounded beautiful here.
George was one cool cat
This video gave me such warm and fuzzy feeling. George has always been one and only my most favorite Beatle, I want to give him a hug so much
What a beautiful song 💘
Name this song please
@@Sebastian__Perez Preeeetty sure it is the title track to, "All Things Must Pass"...
I LOVE THIS SONG, GEORGE DID IT WITH A GREAT, WONDERFUL TALENT. GOD BLESS HIS SOUL, 🙏🙏🙏
George enjoying gardens. Sweet.

George is the one Beatles whom I wish I could've known. He and I could have gone on and on about gardening :).

@@duffbaker9554The owner of this channel endorsed that erroneous comment. Oooooooooooooof....
I like all things must past song very much...so beautiful
Friar Park reminds we of one of those 60-70 dark rides Maybe, someday, the public will get to see the beauty and thrills of this place.
He had eight full-time employees for almost 30 yrs. On a clear day, you could see all of "Henley" from that one window.
I understand George had 6 full time gardeners. That means he had only 2 household employees for that huge house?!?
"All things must pass..none of lifes strains can last"..That album my fav out of all beatle solo's.a well lived life
Beautiful,calm & serene.
The man was a complete jackpot... ❤
A humble recluse to focus on things spiritual.
Thibg about ponds is, they constantly must be managed and maintained.
Джордж сохранил ощущение красоты до конца своих дней. Особый знак изящества несет каждый предмет, к которому он прикасался, и его дом, и его сад.
Wow, not sure where you found this but it's wonderful.
WOW!!!❤❤
All things must pass. And when George passed, he could not take Friar Park or anything else with him.
Dust in the wind.
I was just thinking that very same thing.
George Harrison, jardineiro excelente👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🇬🇧.
Please don't make me cry....This Man is George Harrison. All things must pass...must pass away
Lovely 🙏🏼
AWESOME

Wealthy people provide jobs. Guarantee you the plumber made good money on that job.
Good man.. ☮️💜

それは素晴らしいです
Love to watch the entire vid. Where is it available?
Cool!
“A mind can blow those clouds away” -i Belive that was a Lennon line (get back movie)
Yes, from wind to mind. Much more poetic. He accepts John's suggestion instantly.
Atmp❤❤❤

Any idea who's playing the bass on this version, it's pretty chunky. Klaus Voorman?
Demo for the ATMP sessions I suspect
Great footage
But if it's March, why so many leaves on the trees?
Where is the sound from? The "Get Back" sessions?
16mm home movie? 35mm? he certainly could afford it.

Looks like George wasn't so spiritual that he didn't appreciate the material things of life, like that fancy spread!!
George knew what was going on, when to be this when to be that RIP Georgie boy
Living In A Material World 😊
He sure earned all that he had.
Excellent video. Do you have the whole song?
Wow he was making this music and Lennon gave us crappy Double Fantasy and the awful Milk and Honey.
enlightenment comes at a mansion.......

Why would anyone need a house that big? Especially someone who preached that spiritual matters were so much more important than the material world.
Because he's a Beatle and made the best music ever heard
they were originally going to tear down the house so george bought it and restored it
@@llebbuton thanks! Didn't know that!
Also he probably built a studio inside.
He was a big luck, to meet Paul and John, without them he would be an operator or waiter in Liverpool.
Be quiet. Evil jerk. George Harrison was very musically talented. Terrible thing to say. RIP GREAT GEORGE HARRISON.

So would Paul and John
