It’s crazy how 2 years later that same kit has basically doubled in price currently when I’m looking and pricing things out. Inflation has really fucked us lol
Took out my UZ for my POP kit and it was pretty easy to do, everything fit no issues. Let's you go in and do a lot of engine work easily with engine out. To do clutch you can lower the cradle, not drop cradle, if you don't want to take out engine, its like 14 nuts to lower cradle with engine still in but a CD009 is gona be heavy from the bottom no matter what. I have no friends or shop so I went from the top haha
I got a 1993 SC400 AT, runs and drives that I'd like to go to a good home rather that scrap. Needs work but I think its a gorgeous car but I got too many projects and I loathe the whole FB/CL process. Went as far a getting front BBK and Volk wheels (which I'm probably keeping). lmk if you or someone you know is interested. Keep it up. You're helping these cars get a new lease on life with your videos.
Awesome channel bro....just subscribed from Australia... I was about to give up on the a sc400 cd009 seems the way to go these days..lovin all you're knowledge and input dude💯❤️🇦🇺🤙
This was a great overview, thanks! Been trying to decide between Collins, Fisch, and XAT. I was going to use a KA transmission, but am almost dead set on CD009 now.
OK, I found/purchased an '06 350Z trans. I pick it up in a couple of weeks. I was reading thru StriViKs post on clublexus about his swap and was disappointed to find that the Fisch bell is nearly the same size as the cd009 bell. I hate to bash on my tunnel. I fully intended to use the Fisch goods but if major bashing is in order I may have to go Collins
That’s a good idea! I recommend taking your time shopping around for cd009 first. When you find a really good price snag it. Save up for the kit you want later on.
Which one is the cheapest to just get everything bolted together? I'm building a hot rod with a 1uz so I'm not worried about the trans tunnel fitment, shifter, or driveshaft
I didnt know what transe to get for my sc but now I know FOR SURE what one I want. And would you have to chop the trans tunnel for all these kits or only certain kits
So if I’m currently running the collins kit and down the line I want to switch to the Fisch bellhousing would I need to change out any other parts of the collins kit?
The a340e in my 400 is acting up, slow engagement at times, slipping at random, so a manual swap is likely in my future. Are there any mods required to the computer when swapping? Thanks for the video.
@edward3jr hey man did u end up ever having any issues with the way u modified the o2 sensors when u installed thoughs headers on the sc or did it all work out okay?
Buenas tengo un lexus sc400 del 92 soy de Venezuela y me gustaría cambiarlo a manual, sin hacerle nada más y que me recomendarias algo economico y bueno no busco potencia y bendiciones
Dope video man! Just got myself a 99 Sc300 and man I have the turbo ready for it but, I dont know if should keep the automatic trans or go manual.. What do you think?
Couple things man. First off, if you have the stock engine in that 99, it can't take much boost cause of those pencil thin rods. Last year of non VVTI GE with the same bottom end as the GTE is 97. Secondly, these a340e transmissions can't take much extra power, they are not the same as the ones from the auto Supra turbos. If you wanna keep it auto, you'll need to get a trans out of a supra, you can get them for really cheap or even free cause nobody wants them. Then you either need to build your bottom end and do some other supporting mods or drop in a GTE or non VVTI GE and do a bunch of other mods. That's specifically why I bought a 97 SC300.
Auto engineering had poor quality very disappointed returned it purchased a collins kit Superb quality that’s my two cents don’t waste the money on the first one
@@Edward3jr Yes sir he is! Also I used a BMW ZF Transmission not very common in the United States but overseas they are a common swap and hold medium range power fairly well
this was a good video but you definitely should’ve put more info for the sc300. too centered around the 400. really didn’t give me any answers i needed to cd009 swap my 300

Pop shop kit is the best in the market hands down
Dang! Videos like this are what keep me indecisive about the future of my sc400🤔😵💫.

@@KaiPonte it’s finally going down. Started back up on this. Stay tuned
Vid came in clutch was considering Collins or fisch
I’m happy you found this video helpful. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks
I’ll most likely end up going Fisch myself. To me it looks like the best do it right the first time option
I agree, it was one of those where I bought my kit thinking I knew it all and then I about found Fisch. I will go roach for my sc300 though.

This is very disappointing to hear… 😞 but on a positive side Collins has been around for a long time. I think there are drawbacks with every option.

If properly taken care of, they can last forever... So unless you're abusing it, it shouldn't die.
did pop with my ucf10 very tight fit lol
Pop looks really good quality!
i just didnt put the top bolts in. also a frame spreader helps persuade the trans tunnel easily
I need this frame spreader tool in my life 🤣

Any 350z clutch works with Collins, you can even email and ask him

I didnt know what transe to get for my sc but now I know FOR SURE what one I want. And would you have to chop the trans tunnel for all these kits or only certain kits
In the sc, you should not have to cut, you may have to beat it out with the no cut option though.
If you go no cut, you're beating the tunnel to get it to fit. If you go cut, you shouldn't have to beat it.
You have to mess with the neutral wire on harness plug that goes into the trans. This is to get it to start. Pretty straight forward. The ecu is fine.
Great vid! Just subbed.
Thank you!
@edward3jr hey man did u end up ever having any issues with the way u modified the o2 sensors when u installed thoughs headers on the sc or did it all work out okay?
It worked like a charm. No issues at all with those o2 sensors.
My sc300 is factory manual, what would I need to swap a cd009? Do I need just a adapter or a full kit?
You will need the full kit, trans, clutch, flywheel, adapter plate, driveshaft, crossmember, throw out bearing, clutch line, etc…
Buenas tengo un lexus sc400 del 92 soy de Venezuela y me gustaría cambiarlo a manual, sin hacerle nada más y que me recomendarias algo economico y bueno no busco potencia y bendiciones
do you ever experience any wind noise in like the corner of the door when driving over 60+ in the Sc? My car does it and it drives me crazy.
Hmm… I have not experienced this from the window. It I have heard this from the sunroof. I think it’s pretty common though.
Dope video man! Just got myself a 99 Sc300 and man I have the turbo ready for it but, I dont know if should keep the automatic trans or go manual.. What do you think?
You can boost it and keep it auto for now, but I’m always going to tell you to swap it to manual if you have the budget for it. You won’t regret it.

Also, cd009 manual swap from Collins is like $4k I think if you don't already have a trans. Get your own trans and he lists the prices in the video
