Has someone ever made you feel as indifferent about the color of your skin?
Do you know of someone who has experienced this form of racism within the Black community?
Today, I’m discussing colorism in Black America and how we distribute hate amongst our own. By no means is this topic to negate the racism African Americas ensure amongst other nationalities. However, we cannot dismiss the trauma we recycle ♻️ within our own communities.
If you HAVE NOT experienced this within your family, then this topic is not for you. However, for those who has, drop your thoughts on the comments on this subject matter?
    • How did it make you feel?
    • Do You know if someone who endured this?
    • Do you possibly still struggle with the trauma this May has caused?
    • What are ways do you feels we can change this outcome of our offspring enduring such hate?

Thank you for opening up about your experience with colorism!! It’s such a disgusting reality imposed by Colonialism. I would argue every colonized country has their own ‘colorism’ struggle simply because that’s how power could be sustained- and why I don’t think it’ll ever be resolved until we see active efforts of colonized peoples coming together over this painful trauma imposed on our ancestors and navigating it as a collective. Sadly, economic needs transcends culture and that is why colorism can only be solved in a way that’s surpassing our cultural comforts and trust- as it was created to uphold economic power structures.

@@MayGreen-bw8bq believe me I wanted too. But she was not comfortable publicly talking about it. I pray that at some point, she’ll be able to come forward and free herself of the things that has weighed her down for such a long time.
