Sadly, I lot of us have absorbed the white standards of beauty causing self-hate as well as trying to erase our blackness. There are too many dark skinned men who go for light skinned black women, biracial or white women cause of it. Personally, I never used skinned to for my preference. I was attracted to black women of all skinned tones and eventually married a brown skinned black woman.
I agree, the darker the brothas, the lighter they want their women, like they hate there own skin or something. I also have dated from mulatto to very dark women, I literally don't have a preference and my wife is chocolate. That colorist brainwashing starts early in the psyche of young black boys with the lack of chocolate representation in commercials, film, and TV. About 3 years ago there was a black pastor that got a diverse group of average citizens together and partnered with a large PD to go through use of force training. They then put them into simulated shoot / don't shoot training scenarios and the end result is that everyone shot the black subjects more often, with the black folks actually shooting the black subjects more often than the white folk. The scenarios basically involved going into an environment with limited knowledge about armed subjects in the area, and then people appear from behind objects and they're either armed or holding something random. It's designed to get officers used to suddenly seeing an individual kinda in a startling manner while having to quickly ascertain if they're a threat or not. People think I’m crazy when I say, I firmly believe ethnic groups should live seperately. Blacks with Blacks, Whites with Whites, and so on. It benefits everyone it is not racist to see that people will never get along. I’m pretty sure when you are watching Tv it sucks not to see someone who represents you; I mean for example if you are black and watching superhero movies with a majority white cast. When you are Asian and see whites do yellow face and representing your heritage. Doesn’t that not suck; I love western society and it’s ideals, so why can we not implement them to the rest of the world but in form of our Own cultures and Heritages. Somewhat how the Japanese embraced western culture. Listen this isn’t racist just a suggestion I don’t hate anyone; but I really believe life would be better for folks if they were seperated. Around folks like themselves; they’d feel more at home.
People must see ethnicity & color as beautiful varities. Boring world if we looked alike. Marry/friend people due 2 character. Segregation isn't the answer. It causes racism & war.
We (black people) tried to separate and do our own thing, minding our own business...and here come white folk to burn us to the ground because we were happy and successful at doing our own independent thing...but that was a problem too. WHO AM I??? I AM BLACK WALL STREET
Such biased commentary. There are plenty of darkskin women in roles. They are just not the representation that darkskin women want. You mentioned the loud sapphire or mammy which is correct. There are waaayyy more darkskin guys represented in media than lightskin. You “coincidentally” left out darkskin guys in media. As far as relationships, don’t include lightskin men in your rants. I am glad you corrected yourself by specifying that your dark skin guys are what this is really about. Darkskin women are very colorist towards light skin guys but cry when they get rejected by darkskin guys. The harsh reality is that the bleaching, rejection and everything else won’t change until darkskin guys , darkskin girls and lightskin girls have a paradigm shift.
It's clear that you wanted her to focus more on black men and how they are affected by colorism. There is a surplus of lighter skin actresses in the media. Dark skin actresses are not as famous they don't get as much recognition and it's harder for them to get roles. So there isn't a lot of representation of dark skin women in Media. And this video is made by a woman so of course it would focus more on the black woman's experience versus the male. If you want an in-depth discussion about how dark skin men and light skin men are affected by colorism you should probably go look that up or make one yourself but don't try to invalidate someone's experience
There are way more dark skinned successful actress, than light skinned ones. Our top black Alist actresses are all dark too Angelia Bassett brown. Viola Davis, Media Mogul Superstar, Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Naomi Campbell, Nina Simone, Janet Jackson, Gladys Knight, last but not least Whitney Houston, Loretta Divine. People wake the Hell up......
Most light skinned Men I've known in my life love love love Darkskinned Women, some of your commentary is way off base. Last I checked my dark-skinned daddy loved my dark skinned mother😂😂😂. It may be some colorism with a lot of younger ignorant black kids. Maybe they should talk too Denzel Washington, and Samuel Jackson and on and on and on.
First of all, I love your content. That being said, I need you to practice pronouncing "light skinned" correctly though. I heard you say "light SKIN-DED" multiple times (7:28, 7:45), which makes my ears bleed and frankly does not fit the highly intellectual tone and intent of this video. I'll even accept just "light skin" with no "ned" as it sounds better than "skin-ded".
Lets be honest. Colorism is in the head of black women more than anyone else...They always try to turn their negative self esteem issues on someone else, ex: in this video they mention how black men want children with white women so the children wont go through this colorism stuff. Again colorism is more in the head of black women, So is this the reason she wants kids with a white man ? But we don't talk about that do we. See what I mean by how they try and flip the script.
@@cedricholden1409 Hollywood replaces darkskin actresses with lightskin actresses. They have lightskin actresses play the roles of original darkskin characters. They attach demeaning descriptive words the most to darkskin women, such as "angry, aggressive, manly, uncoorperative" way more than lightskin women. Even Hispanics and east/south Asians admit that colorism is real, as east and south Asians spend billions on bleach products and promote being as pale as possible to be labelled as attractive.
I can't blame this on slavery when I never lived in it or been around it. In my opinion a lot of mixed people and racially ambiguous have even features high cheekbones things like that has nothing to do with me wanting to be white or whatever like that I think people like what they like and people are mad.
The effects of slavery is a major factor that is still with us today....and in 50 years there will be a global population of less melinated people and that's really sad because it's being done deliberately...

i think likely lighter skin, generally, is more attractive to men. just like wide shoulders in men is more attractive. height in men is more attractive. less hair on women is more attractive. lean is more attractive. A good jaw line is more attractive. colorism is not a "huge problem," any more than lacking those other features are "huge problems." Like a shorter man, or a pear shaped person -- we have no choice but to basically accept the basic realities of our genetic heritage. We should all love ourselves, regardless of our skin tones.
It’s the same thing as someone saying they wish they were lighter
To me, ara looks black and not biracial compared to the mixed ones in this video.
Saying that something didn’t exists because you have yet to experience it or see it occurring with your own eyes is very problematic
This is sad😭I even edited my picture to make me seem lighter 😢
LOL
I have stopped doing that now❤
Colorism causes people to pull out their " crazy card " 😂
Yeah I have a reason for my light skin preference but it's not for the same reason you have in this video. You can't tell me what I am or am not attracted too.
Just out of curiosity what’s your preference because I like light skin men because I find them attractive.
What's your reason please?
Tv programming is the only reason 😅

Umm there are plenty of dark skinned successful actresses in Hollywood. Why do people pretend that doesn’t exist.
Porque son minoría.
because colorism appears to be a reason for dark bw to be mean to the light bw and men. there were so many content creaters with light bw hate that they were shamed and had to delete them.
7:29 they're all mixed not black
I love this video
Thank you sooo much!
Most dark skin black men I see only dating & marrying light skin black women I see it a lot in the black churches I haven’t seen a dark skin brother with a dark skin black woman I see a lot of lighter skin black women getting married more than dark skin women
Latina and Hispanic and Arab and Middle Eastern and Asian are olive skin
No, us Hispanic-Latinas come in all colors, shades and races.

It causes racism & war.
so u support segregation
We (black people) tried to separate and do our own thing, minding our own business...and here come white folk to burn us to the ground because we were happy and successful at doing our own independent thing...but that was a problem too. WHO AM I???
I AM BLACK WALL STREET
I do have issue with how Karen Beecher bumblebee looks in DC superhero girls
7:51 Not you repeatedly saying “skinned-ed” 🥴
Amazing video!
Dark-skinned black men are colorist too
@@courtneywhite6036 like a said, it's in the black woman head more than anybody else

You're clearly a dusty. Colorism runs rampant everyday, its not in anybody's head. You're just a colorist gaslighter.
@@cedricholden1409
Hollywood replaces darkskin actresses with lightskin actresses.

@@mypoppafly4084 i feel you that I think people like what they like 🤷🏾♂️ me liking what I like has nothing to do with an era I never lived in.
So the white people interviewed by Lance Hannon were biased towards the light skins because they found them more attractive and not because of internalized colorism?
@@doboy8368 I'm not sure what your comment went or if you chose to delete it because when I go to the main comment section in this three and I don't see you, but when I'm on the outside of it I can hit reply to respond 🤷🏾♂️. Everything isn't eternalized colorism the way people try to make it.. it seems like the ones complaining or talking about it are the ones that don't fit in a lot of the preferences people have 🤷🏾♂️. I myself can appreciate someone of mixed race because of the combined features that they have it's the science part that I like. But it has nothing to do with internalized colorism people like what they like.
@@TrevonGray shocker it's you saying it
i think likely lighter skin, generally, is more attractive to men. just like wide shoulders in men is more attractive. height in men is more attractive. less hair on women is more attractive. lean is more attractive. A good jaw line is more attractive. colorism is not a "huge problem," any more than lacking those other features are "huge problems." Like a shorter man, or a pear shaped person -- we have no choice but to basically accept the basic realities of our genetic heritage. This video stokes fears, instead of simple acceptance, or some remedies if your color really bugs you.
What is this comment this video is talking about how colorism is a problem
wtf
Facts
And that has nothing to do with skin color? A darskin woman can also have these features. What you said is just an example of the prejudices out on us
@@Sarah_321 i'm saying that the prejudice extends to all kinds of things we have no control over. Asians are shorter, and slighter. Prejudice comes with that, big time, too.
