It happens in latinoamerica too, not to the point to get bleached ( is not common) but we have micro discrimination in our society. They thinking having lighter skin is more “ beautiful”.
They even use “ poor color” o “door color” as an insult.

Sadly, I lot of us have absorbed the white standards of beauty causing self-hate as well as trying to erase our blackness. There are too many dark skinned men who go for light skinned black women, biracial or white women cause of it. Personally, I never used skinned to for my preference. I was attracted to black women of all skinned tones and eventually married a brown skinned black woman.

I agree, the darker the brothas, the lighter they want their women, like they hate there own skin or something. I also have dated from mulatto to very dark women, I literally don't have a preference and my wife is chocolate. That colorist brainwashing starts early in the psyche of young black boys with the lack of chocolate representation in commercials, film, and TV. If more women like Amara L'negra, Kenya Moore, Lupita, and Teresa Graves were plastered all over media the brainwashing could slowly get reversed. We just need more representation and we need our ABSOLUTE BEST.

It’s just two black American women. Both are the same. If the role was up for grabs they chose accordingly for the actress best for the role. The darker skin girl left the show, her character was great, she was witty. The lighter skin girl the applied for the role and got it! Although the made the light skin actress a little dumb I think both girls did a good job.

I see it all over TikTok it’s so sad it affects so many minorities. If you have Eurocentric features you’re automatically deemed as more attractive that’s why I have a problem with ppl who say ‘dating preferences’ because it’s typically goes back to colourism but a lot of ppl will not admit to this it’s very sad. It’s not just on TikTok it’s on everything dating shows especially it’s sad. This why I stay off socials it’s mostly all rooted in colourism. I’d like to think we’re making a change for the better but let’s be real here companies are only making a change because if they don’t they’ll be cancelled they aren’t doing it cos they want to they’re doing it so they’ll profit from it. I also find Gen z and other generations like to think that we’re being inclusive but are we tho? Cos if someone doesn’t mean their standard of beauty which is normally a Eurocentric beauty of standard they’ll be so mean to that person and clown them when that person hasn’t done anything wrong. So it’s very hypocritical that’s my problem especially with gen z. I am wise enough to know not to do that I don’t clown ppl for their looks because honestly what’s the point? Does it get you anywhere? All you’re gonna do is cause that person to be insecure wat do u get out of that it’s weird to me if u don’t like something why not shut up and not say anything. There’s a place and a time use ur brain that’s why you have one unless u don’t oh I forgot most ppl don’t. Btw I am part of Gen z so it’s not like I have some kind of vendetta against them I am literally one of them but I’ve just noticed these things and yeah Ofc I will cuss and call all of those colourist ppl out cos it ain’t right at all. I’ve seen colourism in real life and how it affects ppl in real life and it’s sad y’all it will really affect that person for so long in their life and they really feel like they aren’t beautiful because they don’t meet this toxic standard of beauty which is heavily rooted in colourism and Eurocentric standard of beauty I’ll never suport that how about we learn to appreciate all types of beauty not just one specific look. It’s not right. One thing I will say is if you have a child please give them words of affirmation telling them they are beautiful, go to a diverse school, teach them about their culture this is soooo important! Watch movies, if you can afford it go back to where your ancestors are from, eat your food! Look at examples of ppl who actually look like you who have your features, getting them dolls that look like them, teaching them to love their skin colour etc you get it. Because If you don’t do this and the kids grows up in a less diverse area they will go through a identity crises. This is why it’s so important. Especially if you’re kid is mixed teach them to love both parts of them speaking from personal experience it will help them so much especially in the future on how to deal with ppl, situations, people fetishisating their skin colour cos that happens a lot! But any person of colour please learn to appreciate your unique differences it’s what makes you you! No one should take that away from you! Stand in your truth and be you.

U and no one else has the right to put down men because of who they want to marry and love. They can exclude anybody dark light big tall. it's none of u business who and what they do.

About 3 years ago there was a black pastor that got a diverse group of average citizens together and partnered with a large PD to go through use of force training. They then put them into simulated shoot / don't shoot training scenarios and the end result is that everyone shot the black subjects more often, with the black folks actually shooting the black subjects more often than the white folk. The scenarios basically involved going into an environment with limited knowledge about armed subjects in the area, and then people appear from behind objects and they're either armed or holding something random. It's designed to get officers used to suddenly seeing an individual kinda in a startling manner while having to quickly ascertain if they're a threat or not. Reactions are so quick they're almost subconscious which is why the training is important. May be something deeper in our brains that's the result of long ago threats we've yet to evolve out of. Humans are the result of 10s of millions of years of evolution and that type of stuff doesn't just go away from the subconscious in 100 years.

People think I’m crazy when I say, I firmly believe ethnic groups should live seperately. Blacks with Blacks, Whites with Whites, and so on. It benefits everyone it is not racist to see that people will never get along. I’m pretty sure when you are watching Tv it sucks not to see someone who represents you; I mean for example if you are black and watching superhero movies with a majority white cast. When you are Asian and see whites do yellow face and representing your heritage. Doesn’t that not suck; I love western society and it’s ideals, so why can we not implement them to the rest of the world but in form of our Own cultures and Heritages. Somewhat how the Japanese embraced western culture. Listen this isn’t racist just a suggestion I don’t hate anyone; but I really believe life would be better for folks if they were seperated. Around folks like themselves; they’d feel more at home.

    Such biased commentary.
There are plenty of darkskin women in roles. They are just not the representation that darkskin women want. You mentioned the loud sapphire or mammy which is correct.
There are waaayyy more darkskin guys represented in media than lightskin. You “coincidentally” left out darkskin guys in media.
As far as relationships, don’t include lightskin men in your rants. I am glad you corrected yourself by specifying that your dark skin guys are what this is really about. Darkskin women are very colorist towards light skin guys but cry when they get rejected by darkskin guys.
The harsh reality is that the bleaching, rejection and everything else won’t change until darkskin guys , darkskin girls and lightskin girls have a paradigm shift.

It's clear that you wanted her to focus more on black men and how they are affected by colorism. There is a surplus of lighter skin actresses in the media. Dark skin actresses are not as famous they don't get as much recognition and it's harder for them to get roles. So there isn't a lot of representation of dark skin women in Media. And this video is made by a woman so of course it would focus more on the black woman's experience versus the male. If you want an in-depth discussion about how dark skin men and light skin men are affected by colorism you should probably go look that up or make one yourself but don't try to invalidate someone's experience

First of all, I love your content. That being said, I need you to practice pronouncing "light skinned" correctly though. I heard you say "light SKIN-DED" multiple times (7:28, 7:45), which makes my ears bleed and frankly does not fit the highly intellectual tone and intent of this video. I'll even accept just "light skin" with no "ned" as it sounds better than "skin-ded".

Lets be honest. Colorism is in the head of black women more than anyone else...They always try to turn their negative self esteem issues on someone else, ex: in this video they mention how black men want children with white women so the children wont go through this colorism stuff. Again colorism is more in the head of black women, So is this the reason she wants kids with a white man ? But we don't talk about that do we. See what I mean by how they try and flip the script.

Hollywood replaces darkskin actresses with lightskin actresses. They have lightskin actresses play the roles of original darkskin characters. They attach demeaning descriptive words the most to darkskin women, such as "angry, aggressive, manly, uncoorperative" way more than lightskin women. Even Hispanics and east/south Asians admit that colorism is real, as east and south Asians spend billions on bleach products and promote being as pale as possible to be labelled as attractive.

A good jaw line is more attractive. colorism is not a "huge problem," any more than lacking those other features are "huge problems." Like a shorter man, or a pear shaped person -- we have no choice but to basically accept the basic realities of our genetic heritage.
