    I must plead with both of you, please do not loose heart. I am nearly 81 and do all sorts of small projects like art and Cad drawing, as well as writing my 12th book. Believe m e, my research has led me to know for sure that there is a season for everything and with the help of others I am sure to finish everything I start. Yo u might be surprised to know that I have followed your blog with great interest since you started, as both of you encourage me time and again. I can recognize those who collect what others discard and make it look brand new as I do so myself. I love it. My frustration is that I live on a pensioners allowance and cannot contribute money for your cause. But that is when a little voice entered my head saying, 'but you can use your gift of encouragement.' Keep going and take the next step. Longing to see you finish...old man Dave.

    I think in life we all question our own sanity about the projects we commit to and ask ourselves when will it end !! Seeing how you've bought a bought for 1 euro and have just methodically taken on each task, as labororeous as it may seem, looking from the outside in, I think the job you're doing is incredible. On the other side, you'll laugh and realise the bits you loved, the bits you hated but it'll be whilst you're sitting on deck cruising through the med, or further afield. As Yoda would say, "do, or do not. There is no try". Without a shadow of a doubt you're doing it and doing a great job.

    We watch your videos because you’re both down to earth people and you don’t bull shit.
    If bin man makes a mistake he just shows it and explains what happened 👍
    If the little lady takes a hole week to do something she shows it and explains what’s happening 👍
    And your both so amazed and grateful that you have so many people watching paint dry 😂😂
    Love you guys we just love you both and we love watching paint dry 👍👍👍👍👍
    Please do one thing for me,,, Get bin man to do a bin run it’s been a long time between bin runs 👍

    I’m not a sailor but have always been interested as I sailed small vessels as a youth and my father was in the British navy and shipbuilding. I just discovered your channel this week, and I appreciate your honesty about your struggles. Other sailing channels emphasize the romance of sailing, underestimating the inherent difficulties (both technical and personal) for those without unlimited resources. Keep going, you will get there!

    I understand the amount of effort and hard work that goes into rebuilding a sailboat. Being in the boat yard cost money and many fall into the trap of how much debts it creates. It did motivate me to finish my sailboat build by working from 10am to 4am each day until launched for first time. Was an experience never to forget. Very satisfying after getting launched. Creates another challenge after that..keeping it afloat 😂

  • @brettallenthomas
    @brettallenthomas 3 місяці тому +3

    Don't worry about people who complain about background noise.. Your channel is about rebuilding a boat in a boatyard... of course there is going to be lots of noise.. and wind, and rain, and heat .. that's what it's all about.. Drives me crazy that someone sitting in their living room watching youtube is complaining about such small things while you two are working your butts off to not only rebuild your boat, but produce video about the process... p.s. . Thanks for all the hard work and time you put into editing these videos.. I know they take A LOT of time to edit.. So thank you...

    Stew & Marina, I truly love the channel and enjoy every Friday seeing what you 2 have been up to.. my 2 cents aka opinion which isn't really worth anything, is to focus on getting Seabird ready to go back outside and record the footage. But hold onto it until you get her back in the sunshine and then make a longer video of your 2 weeks, release it on the 3rd week which you deserve to have off besides putting a video together.. the way Seabird looked when she entered is a long way from where she is now.. be cool to see in a single video her going indoors and then your finishing touches and her being brought back out.. you 2 keep doing what makes you happy and I know that people will be interested in 👀 your hard work yet 99% happy days..

I agree that some of your recent videos are not all that “exciting,” but they are very interesting and I love watching them. I enjoy seeing the process . You guys do a good job of explaining what you’re doing to the boat and why you are doing it. The things you do are always interesting.
    I know what you're going through at the moment. We bought a ruin some 24 years ago and spent the next 20 years rebuilding it, working full time as well and long hours. We went through the downs many times and had a break before starting again. Like you things don't get done if you don't do them! The house is not finished but livable but at 78 I'm a bit restricted in what I can do now. You are an inspiration to many people, proving that it's possible to accomplish things with a positive attitude. Keep on, keep on, you'll get there.

I know how overwhelming it can be during the process, but you need to remind yourselves what shape the vessel was in when you got started and where it has gotten with your efforts.
