I KNOW I talked a lot of shit this one but man, MVCI deserved so much better. The gameplay is a genuine blast but everything around this game is so underbaked and undercooked that it became a laughing stock of the internet, killing my favorite fighting game franchise of all time.
One day, MvC will return. One day.

@@Redhead-pf8le Yeah, someone that worked with making the combo videos said that Marvel was a fucking nightmare to work with and they wouldn't let Marvel characters to be beaten by Capcom characters or other Marvel character, if you see all their tutorial videos there isn't single Marvel character used as the dummy training
it's also the reason why there are no X-men in the game, because marvel ( disney ) didn't have the movie rights to them and were trying to give as little material or promotion as possible to fuck over Fox, I think the only reason we got Ghost Rider was out of pity for how bad those films were.
Capcom didn't ruin this game despite being the ones who made it, Disney Marvel did.

I really want a new Marvel vs Capcom game, but they would need to just do what they did with 3, and just expand on it with a bigger roster, a good story mode, and it doesn’t have to give it outstanding graphics, I would love for it to have an MVC3 mixed with DBFZ art style.

Yeah, it’s weird to know just how good this voice is for Iron Man only to be called a RDJ impersonator by a lot of people. He’s way better than some of the Iron Man voices I’ve heard.
game is a perfect summation of the times it came out in when u see Carol front and center as they tried so hard to push her (ult alliance 3, this game and avengers/midnight suns) its hilarious honestly
Captain Marvel is a prominent character in Marvel comics these days. Of course they're going to push her whether people like the character or not. I for one enjoyed her character in Midnight Suns. Carol in that game is a stark contrast to the one we see in the movies.

2:03 Okay, let's not talk how story mode does say what was the cause of it, main reason is you don't need to see "how it happened". You come to this game to see Spider-Man shooting webs at Mike Haggar. Most people who were hyped for this game have been playing the series for close to 20 years at that point. You don't need a scene of characters being: "My name is Ryu, who are you?", "I'm Iron Man, I got metal suit. Let me take you to the Avengers", "Who are the Avenegrs?". You know that and it would actually end up feeling more like "when are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?".

The combat is super fun. Marvel Disney just killed it by saying “No X-men or Fantastic Four characters. We’re mad at Fox.” So a ton of fan favorites weren’t in it and it just came off as an ad for the MCU.

I'd believe that Dr. Light knows about the infinity stones. He's canonically a practitioner of the Ansastuken and somehow knows what's going on during the X series even though he's been dead for 100 years. He even knows Zero's backstory even when they never met in the classic era.

A story mode in this series is completely unneeded, as anyone who has played this series since the beginning knows and as this game proves. Capcom, Marvel... we beg you. Just make a fully-loaded and fleshed out roster of entertaining characters everyone wants to play as. Bring back the X-Men. Bring back our BB Hoods, Servbots, and Sentinals, our Phoenix Wrights, Deadpools, and Amaterasus. Stop trying to make a "balanced" game for e-sports tournaments and make a FUN game. It will sell.

"Dark Kingdom" is definitely the merger of the Dark Dimension (Dormammu's realm in Marvel) and the Makai (the demon realm in Darkstalkers).
MvC deserves more than we got from this game.

Sigma was one of my favs on this game and his whole moveset is just flying around and hitting you with the lightsaber so the fusion doing that is a pretty accurate hybrid of their movesets. it's still insane to me they made sigma a dlc though when he was one of the primary antagonists of the game, it feels as dumb as shang tsung being dlc in mk1 right now

I feel that they should’ve replaced Haggar with Zangief since Umbrella grabbing him for experiments makes more sense for Zangief than Haggar. Instead of Nemesis, Jill from UMvC3 would’ve been a better fit or Wesker. The soul stone being used for a Symbiote Dino is disappointing because Morrigan and Jedah are present and if you’ve played Darkstalkers 3, they could’ve adapted Lilith since they’re a part of Morrigan’s soul and have a interesting plot point with her being connected to the soul stone. Spencer sucked and they could’ve replaced him with Captain Commando or another Capcom character like Power Stone (which they made a joke about in the game’s story). Dormammu should’ve been more in this to justify his roster spot and they could’ve used anyone other than Firebrand. Apparently Dante from DMC was going to be in this, but due to backlash, we got OG Dante and it’s why his model is better than OG Dante’s. Venom should’ve been a boss fight, Black Panther, Monster Hunter, and Sigma should’ve been unlockable characters in the base roster. Deadpool had a cover tie-in for the game and it was a bit lame, but he should’ve been in the game as DLC or at least Gwenpool if they didn’t want to use mutants at the time. Miles Morales had a cover tie-in featuring him in it and he didn’t even appear as a skin. The backgrounds of stages teased characters Ken and Iron Fist and they didn’t appear. Ken should’ve been a unlockabke character/alternate look for Ryu.
MvC might be dead for now, but it doesn’t mean that Capcom isn’t interested in making a new one. Because they rereleased the entire series as a Arcade 1Up cabinet and there was a re-release with a X-Men ‘97 tie-in theme this year. Let’s hope that the next one whenever comes out, is given the MvC3 or MvC2 treatment because the series needs to be good again after the abomination that was MvCI

This game looked to be promising at the first Trailer, we FINALLY got X in the MvC game, the crowds were HYPE. Captain Marvel was a great choice too, her movie counterpart may be awful, but shes a decent character, I liked her in Midnight Suns, and if she looked like that? She would have been a lot more awesome. But then a lot of terrible choices from MvC3 making it in over others didn't work for me. Nemesis and Hagger should have been cut for others, to name a couple, and as you said, A LOT of the DLC should have been released on Launch, since they were actually new characters. IF they really wanted to hype DLC, do their silly plan of MCU first, then add XMen as DLC. It's also hard to justify a smaller roster than UMvC3, when most of the characters in MvCI are the same characters ported over. IF it were me, this would have probably been my roster on release:

36 to 40 Characters with a few more new ones. With the MCU, you get nearly EVERYONE in the Thanos Saga, you don't really need a lot of villains either, MCU has Thanos, Loki and Ultron, while Capcom gets Sigma, Virgil and Wesker. You can do a plot around them easily. Virgil and Loki could easily work together and even be redeemed by their respective brothers, Sigma and Ultron still doing their thing, and Thanos and Wesker could use one another to find the stones and Thanos could still go for stealing the Dark Hadou.
The Second DLC Pack would add more to the story, where all these villains would cause more chaos building off of the first game, you could have Kang using his BS to bring the others in and explain them into the game that way.
Mvci died because of karma from kof14, capcom fanboy trash kof 14 for its graphic even though the gameplay was crazy fun, because of that people perspective towards fighting game change where graphics is above gameplay, added to that the animosity from kof community cause by capcom fanboy just makes the situation worse. Mvci graphics was meme to death and the game died less than a year after its released.
