Great video! I quilt backward all the time. That way I don't have to watch the machine to see if I'm getting close to the bar and running out of throat space.

This is such a good video. I have definitely been doing things backwards
Not necessarily, I just found that this way works for me. The reason I roll my quilt top in the direction that I do is because it helps keep the batting from rolling upward and bunching up under the quilt top.
I loved your video so much! It has helped me load mine as I am learning to load on my 12 foot frame. I was wondering would you tighten your quilt top on the roller after you have basted it?
Actually no, it was good. If the quilt is bouncing when you're quilting, it's too tight. If I poke 2 fingers under my quilt, I should be able to grab those 2 fingers with my other hand. If you can't, your quilt is too tight. Hope that makes sense.
What were the white options you used in the video? Also what is the size of the magnet bars?
The magnets are 18" long. The white clips are called Mondo Clip-N-Seals bag clips. I originally bought mine in 2018 when you could get them in 40" lengths. You used to be able to buy them on Amazon. I went to the Clip-N-Seal company website and you can still order the 40" Mondo Bag clips...for immediate purchase. clip-n-seal.com/pp_cart.html

I straightened the batting each time I advanced the quilt, And I am stabilizing my quilt top to the batting, to the backing each time I advance the quilt so that seems to help keep everything in line. When I say stabilizing I mean that I am stitching a vertical line down the right and the left side of my quilt the length of the safe area

In Pattern eClipse, what if the applique that I want to clip out is partly in one zone and partly in another? Is this a problem for the computer? Or do I just go ahead and clip what I can in the first zone, roll the quilt and continue clipping in the next zone? Thanks so much!
You create your eclipse shape to extend just beyond the Zone, which keeps the machine from sewing across the area that you are trying to eclipse. When you roll the quilt and begin the next zone which your eclipse extends into, begin the eclipse slightly above the area to be eclipsed.
My my my! You are the teacher I've been waiting for. I am new to long arming. I just received my Qnique 21Pro machine and 10 foot Grace Continuum frame 1 week ago!! I wish I could come to your house and have some one on one training. I noticed that you are using the QCT 5 software. I have the "Beginnings" but would like to upgrade to the "Pro". Finances do not allow that, so I am just thankful and content to have what the Lord has given me. I struggle with the QCT 5 Beginnings because I am a "show me" kind of person. I just do not do well reading printed instructions. I need to have someone show me how. You are a WONDERFUL teacher. The Lord has given you this talent. I live in Arizona, where state are you in? Just curious. I am a Pastor's wife and I love to sew, especially making quilts. I have made many tops, but always sent them out to the long arm place. That got to be out of my budget so when I was blessed with a long arm and quilting machine I was thrilled, but I have sooooo much to learn. Would you consider doing some videos on how to use the QCT system? I have watched Janet George and Leah Day, both very good teachers, but I seem to relate to your way of teaching. I hope you will consider making more videos. Thank you for taking the time to do this video!!
ps. I like the way you mounted your QCT tablet on the side. Great idea. Less strain on the neck as opposed to puting it on top of the machine. Clever!!!

Hi Marie - finally got around to watching your tutorial. I use a zipper system - I baste the fabric using my domestic machine to both leaders - but I love the flexibility the snappers give you. I'm referring to placing the quilt off centre to save on fabric. I think using snappers on my top (bottom?) rail will work.
Question: As you know, I'm in South Africa, and am interested in your hammock, and the snappers. Any recommendations? If this is not allowed here, can you send me a DM via FB?

Howzit! I hope I used that term correctly. Pleasure to hear from you. I am actually going to replace my cloth leaders with a heavy stronger canvas material that doesn't stretch as easily as my original ones. One of the participants from our Zoom suggested I still incorporate the red snappers with the Zippers! I have all the materials and I hope to video the process. I really like the red snappers, but sometimes I need to move a quilt off the frame to put a rush project on. The March Zoom will include a demo of me making the hammock with measurements for my 12 foot frame. I used "cargo netting" from out local JoAnn's Fabric store. The Red Snappers can be purchased from Amazon: www.amazon.com/Renaes-Red-Snappers-12-Foot/dp/B07G5JNXS3, but the White Mondo bag clips can be purchased directly from the Clip-N-Seal company website and you can still order the 40" lengths: clip-n-seal.com/pp_cart.html. Hi Marie. The cargo netting found in this country is for transportation. Can't find any cargo netting like I see on JoAnn's store. I'm going to order some online. How much should I order? And are there any other fancy items that I may need?
