  • Here I’m showing how to use an OTC upper control arm knockout tool. This is on a 94 1500 4wd
You need to knock these inserts out so that Camber and Caster adjustment can be done
1989-2001 Chevrolet and GMC 1/2-3/4- and 1-ton 2- and 4-wheel drive trucks and
1990-2002 all-wheel drive Chevrolet Astro and GMC
    Safari vans.

i was alignment man for 25 years i showed this tool to another long term alignment man and he say oh yea i got one i never needed it..think he was full of it you gotta have one of these for old chevys..they dont work 100 percent but will give you a good headstart just air hammer or grind if anything is left over ive had some trucks they pop right out and other not(made on a monday i guess)!~~

right one side definitely came out a little tougher than the other but I didn’t have to resort to the air hammer LOL.

Thank you it is a great tool🔥 but you definitely don’t run across to many of these older trucks that need it anymore I’m glad I still had it

Thanks for the heads up Erik. I think I need one of those. We still see a lot of those trucks.👍👍

Thank you ….Definitely have to have one of these for those trucks or the adjustment cam on that side doesn’t move enough to align it 👌👍🏻

That steel looks tough. I wonder what you do if you don't have the tool? Air hammer it and hope it doesn't bend the part that stays?

I believe it just had some spot welds so probably an air hammer or chisel would work also. Just have to be careful not to damage the hole
