Ok! Finally got around to doing the lower control arms yesterday! So, while doing it, notice I need to change the tie-rods. Arriving Wednesday. Then off for alignment. Looking at the front from street view, appears upper is toe in and lower tire outbound. I didn't notice anything we missed.
@@repairandsharegarage Thanks. I did check the parts again to be sure they were the correct replacements. All good on that front! Will post once I get it aligned.
@@repairandsharegarage As my best guess, the replacement parts were not exact, so the tie rod measurements were a bit long. Alignment came back, and now dealing with intermediate steering rag bushing is bad! Never ending! lol
Hey new to your channel.. Love the truck.. I’ve had several OBS and just actually changed this on my 96 Sierra.. Change your Pitman Arm and your Other steering arm buddy.. That play in the steering will be gone.. 🤙
Actually watched your video to see how hard it is to change out the ball joints I just got all the stuff to do mine.. More than welcome to come over and help if ya want 🤷♂️😂
Thanks! With these trucks spring compressor wasnt really necessary. I’ve seen people put a length of chain looped around the bottom of spring to control arm just in case though. Once you loosen spindle bolts you can just work it out of there.
Hey! Awesome video! I recently did the upper arms and was wondering, and I didn't take a look at the time, did you need to knock out any alignment tabs?
I have an 88 gmc thst i bought new and im doing the upper and lowers control arms for the first time since new. Truck has 294k on the odometer. Your video saves me having to buy a spring compressor. Thanks for a good video. 😁👍🇺🇸
Just ordered the kit as well as all new brakes and a 2/4 drop kit. Your video was perfect, thanks for sharing.
The nut u found by itself when you took off the lower control arm it was a motor mount bolt that goes through the frame
Awesome vid 👍🏽

All I can think of is they shipped the wrong parts?maybe the alignment shop can make sense of it?

@@klb1956 I can understand that! kinda pricey but the Cunningham machine steering shaft is a good upgrade to get rid of the rag joint
Nice truck brotha.
Thanks 👍, do you have an OBS truck?

@@chaddollahan9275 thanks! I appreciate that. Love these trucks. Just makes them more enjoyable to drive when the steering is tightened up
Good video. Something I would've like seeing how you removed the spring. Did you use a spring compressor?

It was awhile ago but I don’t remember taking any out
Did you have to use a spring compressor to get the lower control arm off? You didn’t video that part. Thanks
Hi, sorry about that , no I didn’t ; with everything unbolted there’s enough slack in these trucks to wiggle it out

Hey man. Did your upper control arm rub on your spindle?
Please reply asap
No, not that I’m aware of . Have you heard they did?
Did you ever find out what was that dust cover part number?
Sorry, thought I had a picture of it but can’t find it
Are those adapters or a hub swap or some sort?
There 1.5” adapters , found some on eBay
Real nice truck man do you mind me asking what adapters you got and if u have the link for them ?
And what kind of dust caps are those too ?
www.ebay.com/itm/334051001628
These are the ones I went with 1.5” wide
The dust caps found them at autozone , I think it’s a Dorman dust cap
Can you please give me the info that link has expired
