Just to let all viewers know. My Polo GT TSI 1.0 gives me a mileage of 7-8 kmpl in tail to tail traffic of Pune with mixed driving (rash driving when ever I get to see a small stretch of free road). My XUV 700 ax7L Diesel gives me 10-11 in same traffic even with so big size and rash driving when I get a chance in small distance. Plus during rash driving the mileage I get in polo dips to 4-5 kmpl but in xuv it never drops below 8. On highway, there is no comparison. In 120 kmph speed also I get in double digit in xuv and not more than 7-8 in polo. Both cars are super fun to drive and can pull like a rocket but xuv even with big body gives me more economical sense!

Hi Sunderdeep Singh. Great conversation of the Diesel Engine vehicles. I own a Kia Seltos, 1.5 Diesel. The fuel efficiency in Bangalore City Drive is between 17 & 18kmpl. So, the investment at the fag end of the BS4, which was a major flaw in this engine, which could not meet the BS6 norms. The Turbo Petrol will show efficiency in the laboratory, but in the practical field, the efficiency dips badly because, the turbo charging of a petrol engine, will create a high knock. To control the knock & bring down the temperature, the petrol is sprayed to burn for reducing the knock but the power is not translated. Is it a practical alternative to provide this amount of power at each charging point? Definitely not.
When you replace a car by ev The supply chain : 1. Doesn’t have to refine oil for that car (uses same power 2-3kWh for each litre of fuel refined) 2. Thanks for the video Sunderdeep Ji!! It was high time someone stood up for diesel engines in passenger car segment. I don't understand why the hate towards Diesels? Its unfortunate that there is no sedan currently in the Indian Market with a diesel engine.
This conversation is amazing and made us think on varity of topics such as Europe and Asia influence, it is not just about enthusiasm but also a luxury experience for Indian middle class and overall asians.. Kudos brother.. very informative video.. Yeh raise hona chahiye👍🏻

I too had the same thought process on the Diesel Engines, I had 2011, 1.4ltr TDCI Ford Figo, it has run through 1 lakh Kilometers, still capable of delivering 30km/ltr on Highways with AC and 12 to 16 km/ltr at City driving conditions. I Like Diesel engines most rather than driving the Petrol NA and Turbo engine vehicles
Diesels are the best in any which way petrol cannot beat it Thats why i sold my tsi polo and bought a Korean diesel machine just because germans do not have a diesel 😢 But i am happy i have a diesel machine which performs like a 💎
Very well explained and such an eye opening discussion 👍. I would also suggest speaking on whether older bs4 engines can survive in the near future, when the government is changing the grade of bs6 and 7 diesel. Thank you and God bless.
I was a Diesel Lover too and we still own a Diesel turbo at home. But after driving the 1.5 TSI dsg for 2.5 years, clearly i love to go for 1.5TSI every single time. The 1.5tsi delivers enough power and delivers it in a way that i am very very satisfied with just because i can speak to the occupants in the car when i drive and when there are no occupants, i can hear to good music even without the volume being as loud as in a Diesel.
I am driving XUV 7OO D AT as well as SONET D AT. Both the cars are hoot to drive and silent cabins. So silent that sometimes the silence is threatening, if my wife is angry 😝
What I think is that ultimately, the government also realized that they are making more money on petrol. Jayada khapat to jayada tax v. Secondly, diesel chunki main fuel hai for heavy transportation and agriculture so ek level s upar uska price badhane m pareshani hai but petrol m nahi. Third point, Diesel cars khud itna fuel efficient hoti hai ki koi usko chor k dusri technology like EV ya hybrid per move nahi kerna chahta. But now out of compulsion they are moving as running a petrol car is must costlier. I had been a fan of diesel cars. But lastly, I had to move to a petrol and cng car because of temporary ban on diesel cars in winter in Delhi NCR. I feel diesel is a wonderful and very stable fuel and diesel cars are fun to drive. The government is just killing it for vested interest. Nice discussion. 👍
Volumetric consumption pe maine apne friends ko same baat batai jo aapne boli but unko voh samajh nahi ayi.. y yeh bolo mai unko samjha nahi paya.. one car with same brand with same CC and different engine ( PETROL AND DIESEL) give different mileage, spouse petrol petrol car give 9-10 kmpl mileage in city, and the car with same CC in diesel gives 14-15 kmpl.. so petrol is less cleaner then diesel..
41:30 diesel locomotive is actually diesel hybrid (AC Motor running via diesel Genset) power losses are lower than diesel hydraulic (equivalent of TC gearbox with diesel engine) coal running steam engine runs directly by coal, there was also concept of steam turbine locomotive which are much more efficient than steam piston action
The more videos you make the more we want to celebrate that we have such a honest understanding and nice person who is speaking up for the facts. In '21 when we were buying i20 my father was against diesel as they were slowly phasing out diesels but I was adamant that I only want diesel no NA petrol no Turbo petrol.
Gov wants to focus on money. More petrol sale, not reducing market barrel prices to end consumer and now adding ethanol to 20% with same price to get additional 10% gain in money. DIESELS are better fuel PERIOD but all things depends on what and how our GOV thinks. Sadly the think tanks prefer money over logic. Sadly it won’t change anytime soon…
I m also not happy with govt decision to ban diesel engine car and decreasing life span of diesel car gradually after ever 2-3 year by getting lame excuses by government to ban diesel engine and decreasing it's life

Dear Sirs! this entire video is good from academic point of view. But its bitter reality that govt finally forced out Diesel motors. EV is current focus of the Govt specially respected Gadkari sir. He is even focusing on hydrogen cars. All in all Govt forcing Ethenol blending more than 20% that ultimately killing BS4 petrol engines. You both worked really hard to share such nice facts. Good luck to both of you.
All the points are valid. Quite an enlightening conversation ❤ But it boils down to respective usage. If one commutes in b2b traffic, diesel won’t make more sense, although fuel cost would be lower, overall maintenance in long run might be much higher

Govt is unclear of concept and targeting diesel cars when diesel cars are not emitting dangerous gases which EVs can generate, petrol is expensive so Govt is forcing us to naturally go for EV, when the choice given by Govt is incorrect, Govt rethink and come in the game of mass driving market

Similar logic can be applied in Liquor - Typical Beer consists 8% Alcohol - so in 650 ml you consume 52 ml of alcohol while in Strongest Rum the alcohol is 40% so even when you drink Patiala peg actual alhohoi is only 36 ml. Plz , write a letter to Gadakari ji . He is big promoter of ev & highly against for diesel cars .
His points are very technical & govt should answer it .
Munishji ki videos ka hamesha intejaar rahta h
He is himself a book of car knowledge.
Nice video over diesel.
The reason why I got a Nexon diesel ⛽️
Thanks for the video Sunderdeep Ji!! It was high time someone stood up for diesel engines in passenger car segment. I don't understand why the hate towards Diesels? Its unfortunate that there is no sedan currently in the Indian Market with a diesel engine.
This conversation is amazing and made us think on varity of topics such as Europe and Asia influence, it is not just about enthusiasm but also a luxury experience for Indian middle class and overall asians.. Kudos brother.. very informative video.. Yeh raise hona chahiye👍🏻
Yes Right, sir mene last month hi 1st gen 2007 Swift drive ki , that was unmatchable, bai g 2nd gear ch ta accelerator te foot rakne hi nhi deti clutch left karte hi rocket 😮😮😮
Still own the 2008 VDi Beauty, आगे का पता नहीं 😢
I too had the same thought process on the Diesel Engines, I had 2011, 1.4ltr TDCI Ford Figo, it has run through 1 lakh Kilometers, still capable of delivering 30km/ltr on Highways with AC and 12 to 16 km/ltr at City driving conditions.
I Like Diesel engines most rather than driving the Petrol NA and Turbo engine vehicles
TDCIs are gem... Superb engines
Diesels are the best in any which way petrol cannot beat it
Thats why i sold my tsi polo and bought a Korean diesel machine just because germans do not have a diesel 😢
But i am happy i have a diesel machine which performs like a 💎
creta seltos sonet venue
Wish Vitus had a TDI
Hats off to the kind of knowledge Mr. Munish possesses
Hyundai diesels are very refined.
I am driving XUV 7OO D AT as well as SONET D AT. Both the cars are hoot to drive and silent cabins.
So silent that sometimes the silence is threatening, if my wife is angry 😝
Because of this critical topic, I'm subscribing to you! Thank you!
Video weight in gold 😊
Fantastic information sir....this video should reach to most of the people!!
1 video on mahindra diesel engines please.
Can you tell if its safe to buy Harrier diesel in the current situation??? Such a beautiful car but ugly situation
I have a diesel car .. and i totally agree with you....
41:30
diesel locomotive is actually diesel hybrid (AC Motor running via diesel Genset)
power losses are lower than diesel hydraulic (equivalent of TC gearbox with diesel engine)
coal running steam engine runs directly by coal, there was also concept of steam turbine locomotive which are much more efficient than steam piston action
Hearing to this while driving my kia seltos 1.5 diesel achieving 17 kmpl in city traffic.
The duo we needed, good to see you both 🔥
My vento 1.6 tdi 22 kmpl milge ❤ 2013 model still runs like a rocket
I m also not happy with govt decision to ban diesel engine car and decreasing life span of diesel car gradually after ever 2-3 year by getting lame excuses by government to ban diesel engine and decreasing it's life
Best Automobile 🚘 Duo in A single Frame...❤
Sunderdeep bhaiya this is really a very important and informative video so i request you that while you are making these kind of Technology or knowledge based video please dont make them while driving because it could be possible that tou may miss out some questions or some topics as i noticed in this video. Anyways, amazing video, a lot to learn.
Feedback noted Brother 🙏
Proud owner of Multijet 2.0 and 1.5 TDI. ❤
Ekdam sahi baat boli hai bhai aapne overall dekho to diesel engine kam carbon emit karega agar petrol ke comparison me 100 km tak chalaya jaye
iv 2010 swift 1.3 ddis,
my creta 2021 crdi gathers dust as i enjoy the 1.3 so much, insane pull
100% agree on swift part..driving 2017 swift nw and power is too reduced whi h was there in older models
Munish and sunder deep, hats off to you both. I drive rapid skoda 2012 koi hor gaddi chalan da man hi ni karda. Pl do continuous raise voice against 10/15 yr time frame for vehicles... thanks
Sirji
Can you please have a detailed video on VW Touareg ,V6 TDi which was introduced to Indian market in 2008-2014.
I am also a fan of VW Jetta 2.0 TDi and using it very comfortably.
I own Ameo 1.5 TDI. it give me mileage of 26-30 on highway. Also power is vey good.
Munish ji hats off to u your knowledge
This is the best information information which I hv ever heard from social media……..market ko lead krne wala kaise market me perfecion daal skta h and people follow the all conspiracy just bcz of nobody tell us the actual things
You are saying as is same what i was saying with my friends from BS6 introduction in India. And promotion of EV on other hand. We are on same though of this topic.
Next level knowledge...worth watching
Any Latest Big Budget movie ❌
Sunder Bhaiya’s 1Hour Long video ✅😌
Dear Sirs! this entire video is good from academic point of view.
Super sir from venkateswara rty army jolarpettai Tamil Nadu
All the points are valid. Quite an enlightening conversation ❤
But it boils down to respective usage. If one commutes in b2b traffic, diesel won’t make more sense, although fuel cost would be lower, overall maintenance in long run might be much higher
this same flaw was also discussed and explained in Autocar podcast by Hormuzd Sorabje
Sir ji i want to buy new creta in Diesel but my running is less. Dpf ki problem se dar lag rha hai. Petrol me avg bhi nhi hai aur chalane me bhi maza nhi hai. Hafte me ek ya do bar hi gadi nikalti hai ghar se kya karu. Risk uthakar diesel creta lelu ya petrol lu please reply soon❤
Munish Sir whatever you explain is a genuine facts.
Really impressed with your knowledge I would like thank you to Sunder ji too for getting this video on your channel.
Should i go for Curvv 1.5 GDI or Virtus 1.0 TSI
Govt is unclear of concept and targeting diesel cars when diesel cars are not emitting dangerous gases which EVs can generate, petrol is expensive so Govt is forcing us to naturally go for EV, when the choice given by Govt is incorrect, Govt rethink and come in the game of mass driving market
EV has zero tailpipe emission which gases are you talking about? name them
Bahoot achaa. I have tata harrier i changed its engine oil to 5 w 40 .its 1 month old and afer 500 km i just change after market.Engine bahoot smooth and pickup very fast .done 150+kmph cruze on yamuna expressway. Its totally different then other harrier owners . please make this 0w20/16 scam in india market .and i am searching how to tweek car to stage 1 .some worth it option
Hows this possible?
Please make a full video on 0W 20 grade engine oil with Munish ji
Sir tata jo hai woh apne diesel engines main abhi bhi dpf nhi dete na usme urea dalta hai (except harrier and safari as they have FCA sourced diesel) tata waalon ne ek doosri technology ka use kiya hai jisse woh threshold point (limit) ke paas chala jaata hai but abhi comply kar rahi hain
Similar logic can be applied in Liquor - Typical Beer consists 8% Alcohol - so in 650 ml you consume 52 ml of alcohol while in Strongest Rum the alcohol is 40% so even when you drink Patiala peg actual alhohoi is only 36 ml. So one bottle of Beer is more dangerous than 1 peg of Strong Rum - और असली मजा तो रम् मैं है
मुनिष जी दिल से बात करते हैं - और इनसे आप ही बुलवा सकते हैं
"hi5, namaste" nice video buddy & my mom's 1st gen swift vxi cross 5 lakh kilometres on 15th August 24!
Ek point taxes bhi hai
Isiliye electric vehicle ki taraf shift Kiya ja rha hai buyers ko bcz electric vehicles ki age comparatively kam hoti hai
Jisse buyer jaldi gaadi badlega
Jisse government and banks and manufacturers subko fayda hoga
One of the best videos in you tube thank you sundardeep ji for enlightening us.felling sad for diesel cars 😢
Much needed video, i have Polo TDI 1.5
So happy munish ji referred to the freightliner trucks 🚛....indirectly associated with the brand !
Good Discussion, but TDI engine also faced huge lawsuit in the year 2015 for tweaking emissions....make a video on that too.
Prefer Disel anyday 🤘🤘
this video should reachw Mr. Gadkari sahib..
Very good topic home like you other youtube updated regarding diesel car. Very Truthful episode thank you so much for this episod. ❤
Thank you for sharing your valuable insights and knowledge.
Mr. Munish's expertise is truly commendable.
Your videos provide comprehensive and clear explanations, which is highly appreciated.
Hi Manish Ji & Sunderdeep ji
I am also diesel lover but my bad luck I am resident of delhi, I had swift 2016, what you told about 2007 swift & 2011 swift is absolutely correct, I have driven both the generation and loved the performance, so bought the same for me, but very disappointed than I tuned it from tunotronic, and it becomes rocket, due to the fear of diesel ban I sold it out and bought 4th manual city, but I badly missed my swift due to fuel efficiency it provides, honda city is great but when I rev it its efficiency drop down badly, so agry on your all points.
Thankgod someone has made a video on this topic
Superb explaination and Video
Excellent technolgy hamesha jitegi.
Maruti suzuki ke CNG vehicles hi jyada hoge
Haan agar fuel export countries ko barbaad karna hai to alag baat hai.
Ethenol agar hamare yaha 100% hota hai to its ok agar import karna na pade, matlab woh ghar ki baat hogi.
EV having many problem areas woh jab tak solve nahi hote tab tak hit nahi hoga.
Great video! Watched the full thing, 100% agree with everything
Love these long conversations
Sir n aapse hath jod k pray krta hu plz ans single question
Mene xuv300 disel li h
Log kh rhe long term m bahut problem aayegiii..
Due to technical complexity
Kya mene galti kr di..
Itna jyada problem aayegi kya future m..
Like wo khte h fuel injector jaldi kharab hoga
Turbo jaldi kharab hoga
Dpf jaldi kharab hoga
Jabki sir meri running kam thi
But m diesel lena chahta tha
.kya engine jaldi kharab ho jayega
M kya kru ab
agaya Maza...finally uffan nickal gaya..thank you for bringing this out
Good informative Video..Excellent knowledge..
Make a video about the recent news on Skoda Kylaq !!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very informative thanks for the information
Tata curv have disel unit without need dpf is best car. Why not others giving same
Perfect logic of SCR and DEF technology. As per the Indian government, a 10-year-old - 6 lacs - swift TAXI - over 2 lac km running is equal to a 10-year-old Audi of 60 lacs - completed 40 K km. I have had an Audi A4 for the last 10 years, but I can't drive to Delhi...
Pure Illogical.
Very sad!
