Do you know that would be awesome if it had AI built-in, and it just answered your questions and helped you along with the production. I think you’re onto something for real and I don’t think we’re too far from that actually happening I think right now the biggest holdup would probably be processing power… And the device would probably have to be online I guess because you would need to be able to pull from a big source of data. But yeah, that would be awesome! If you have questions hit me up, I’m happy to help you out. I mean this device all the live devices are a little quirky in a way, but this one I feel really good about the He Is wicked compared to some of the other ones. I got to say I hate the over lays. They are absolutely my biggest paint point with these devices I would much rather have everything on the dashboard of the device, then to have to deal with putting an overlay on top and using that and then taking it off again, and putting it back. But they do have a new device coming out the new Lofi 12 XT or XL I forget what the letters are is going to be amazing and it’s going to have everything on screen and on the dashboard of the device I’ll be getting one I believe they’re coming out in March… We’ll see, sonicware is a great company overall, but when it comes to new products… They’re not too good at hitting deadlines. Unfortunately they’re still small and young so I think they’ll eventually get better at it but I think that their projections are a little hopeful….
Question.. When you copy patterns, ie ptr 1 to ptr 2 does the new pattern keep all the baked effects used from the previous pattern or do you have to manually tweak everything again for the new pattern? I noticed when copying patterns, each track in the pattern needs to be copied separately, can you copy all four tracks in a pattern at once?
OK, so what it sounds like you’re trying to do is make multiple patterns to create a song… as in you want to keep let’s say your bass and drums and change the top-line and pads… (just for fun) or maybe everything but the top line. Rather than copying each track - just load the pattern you want to base your next pattern on and save it to a new slot. Then you’ll have an exact duplicate of you pattern - next select the track you want to change - and clear just that. You can then make a new track maintaining everything that was the other track(s). I think that answers everything, if not let me know and I’ll try to be more clear. Don’t forget to like and sub if you have not already! :) I appreciate it!!
@@Cap10NRGMusic Cool beans! Yeah I'm trying to create a song with different variations. Now I'll go read the manual and figure out how to load the same pattern to a new one. What I did before was press the pattern I wanted duplicated then I hit function copy then I selected a blank pattern, ie pattern 2 but it only copied the track that was highlighted instead of all four tracks together.

How do you copy a sequence. When I copy a sequence and then edit the new sequence, it adds the changes to the original sequence. How do I make my copied sequences unique?
Hey there @shizzyShawn412... Ok I tried this and thought there was a bug, but then realized it was my error and I was not looking at the correct track. This doesn't seem to be an issue. I made a snare track, copied it to track 2, changed the instrument to clap, went back and modified the snare and they look and play differently. So I am not 100% sure what you have happening. Are you selecting a track then using FUNC-COPY selecting a Destination Track and FUNC-PASTE?
Yes me too! Don’t forget to sub - I’ve got a lofi-6 coming and it seems like it’s going to be the same workflow, but grittier! Really looking forward to it!! Also I’ve got a workflow video for the lofi12 coming
@SonicVibe I know that’s my favorite part actually right there is that I’ll be able to transfer the same knowledge. And just get a different sound out of it you know. I really cannot wait to combined them with the SMPLTREK-the insanity that is about to ensue lol
Yeah I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it. I cannot wait for the next one. There’s a eight channel model coming out on Kickstarter… I think the kick starter is over you can still get it. It’s the Lofi 12 XL. I think it’s what they’re calling it I can’t remember the name, but it looks awesome. It looks like the simple track but kind of follows along the lines of the low 512. I have two on order they come out in April. Hopefully… I love this company but they’re not super good at hitting scheduled dates. Hey but in the meantime, don’t forget to subscribe they’ll be more content coming and I hear there’s another operating system update coming as well so we’ll see if that hits soon.
Yeah, I thought that was probably my favorite new feature. Because I do that all the time. I’ll make a pattern too short and think oh damn I should’ve made this twice as long lol.
@Gingerfock good question! The answer is yes and no… ok so you have 4 banks of 16 patterns with up to 64 steps per pattern. You can only have 64 steps in each pattern (so that’s the yes) but you can chain patterns together and duplicate then modify patterns to create longer patterns (so there’s the no) . So basically if I want to did you have 128 step pattern I could create two patterns that were 64 steps each and then change them together. I can also go for a lower number like say 96 if I wanted to. The cool part about cheating patterns together that even I didn’t think of it at first was that each pattern can have its own instrumentation! So you can change up the instruments within the patterns because the instruments are basically all sitting there, loaded essentially all the time there’s no load time for the samples they’re just part of the system. And for a little groovebox, this thing is incredibly powerful.
Love this, but seems like a complicated workflow, at least for me. I can't wait until these come with chatgpt or the like bulit in. 😊
