    An updated cosmetic complements the control, feel, and comfort of this popular player's racquet. A favorite among tournament and pro level players who like a flexible feel. 12 ounces, 98 square-inch head.

    When Chris grabs the chair for these sit down reviews of a classic racket you know it just got real. Like a grandparent telling you a story lmao

    @Stu Palmer,
    The C10 Pro offers great feel. The response is silky smooth, the power is very impressive for a player's racquet and I can get lots of spin when hitting with it. I like the racquet most with a poly or co-poly string as it allows me to find good control and tame the power some. Even with a poly strung pretty tightly, the racquet remains very comfortable. It is just a great all around racquet.

    @highlandsss,
    The C10 Pro has a more powerful response and a larger sweetspot. I string it 5lbs higher than the PB 10 Mid to add more control. The C10 Pro is also more solid feeling with better plow through, but as a result, is not as fast and maneuverable as the PB 10 Mid. Both offer a silky smooth feel, which is classic Volkl. The new Organix 10 Mid feels right between the two and is another solid option.
    Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    @nikiceg,
    Sorry for missing your question! It has been awhile since I hit the 10 V-Engines, however, I remember them playing a tad firmer and crisper than the C10 Pro. I would say power is pretty close between the two but would give the edge on touch and feel to the C10 Pro.
    Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
    Cheers,

    I recently discovered volkl racquets and this baby is my favorite. Great feel and stability with great pop.

    Great review, I recently switched to this frame, first got a new old stock from eBay of the second generation (bumble bee pj, 2000 I believe ), and recently got a 2008 version, the newer is slightly lighter and stiffer than the previous one (still being very flexible). In terms of stringing I found out that with poly strung with the Parnell around the world pattern in the upper 50s ( I strung mine at 58) brings the most out of this fantastic frame, next I'll try the same with natural gut at 62. Don't let the high tension scare you, this frame is so flexible and arm friendly that poly is not going to hurt your arm, and you'll still get plenty of power and control.

    The cosmetics remind me of my old Völkl Tour 10 Mids, which I still have in more than perfect condition. I've always loved the paint job, but love the way they play,.. Same with the c10s

    @1adrianclinton,
    Yes, I use Cyclone 16 at 57 lbs in this racquet and find it to be a great playing set up. I leave the C10 Pro stock and do not add lead tape to it. I like the way it plays bone stock! It really is a sweet playing racquet.

    The Prestige Pro is very solid feeling -- even in the upper hoop where the C10 Pro feels much softer and more flexible. Both offer very easy access to pace and power since they both offer great plow through. I find the stringbed to be livelier in the C10 Pro and string that racquet about 3-4lbs tighter to add control. I would say feel wise, the C10 Pro is silkier, the Prestige firmer/crisper thanks to a more box beam frame design. Both are great all court options for advanced players.

    Thank you Chris. Its really hard to find a true classic stick these days. Volkl is one of the few that really feels like the old sticks. I will demo the organix 10 and the c10 pro to see what feels best. Thank you very much for the detailed answer Chris.

  • @tenniswarehouse

    @phillip391984,
    The C10 Pro is pretty string sensitive. WIth a multi it plays very lively. Syn guts are also pretty lively in the racquet and I string them around 60-65 lbs to deaden the stringbed a bit. With a poly I drop into the mid 50s, but rarely drop below 54 lbs in this racquet due to its powerful response. With a lively poly I'm right around 57 lbs. With those tension adjustments I maintain control and tame some of the C10 Pro's power.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris, TW

    Taylor Ermoian,
    The C10 Pro definitely meets your requirements -- right headsize, nice power and very arm friendly. The TF 315 is too light and underpowered in comparison, so look to be add weight there. The TF 325 would be a closer option. The Organix 10 325 Midplus would be another option and I wouldn't discount the Org 10 Mid as it is more powerful than the PB10 Mid. The new Six.One 95 18x20 is fantastic, and well worth a hit. Just a beautiful racquet to hit with.
    Cheers,
    Chris, TW

    @ mark molina,
    The C10 Pro will have the softest feel and most control of the three, but it will be the most difficult to use and least forgiving because it has the smallest head size. The Wilson Six.One 16x18 is also a great racquet with great feel, and it will be a bit more forgiving and easy to use.

    @ Christopher Ingrassia,
    This has been a classic frame for Volkl for a while, so this is most likely what you tried. They still have a very soft and comfortable feel, one of the best on the market!

    @ harikkdi,
    Chris is out of the office for the rest of the week, but I can step in here for him. That setup will work great, offering great ball pocketing and access to spin, as well as good comfort for your arm. Enjoy!

    The C10 Pro is more forgiving and offers more power. The PB 10 Mid is very precise and surprisingly fast and easy to maneuver - so much so, adding lead tape is pretty common among advanced players using that racquet. Both offer loads of feel and comfort. If you want more free power, go with the C10 Pro, if you more control go with the PB 10 Mid. For instance, I string the PB 10 Mid around 52lbs, but the C10 Pro I have to go up to 57lbs to bring the power down a bit.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris, TW

  • @tenniswarehouse
    @tenniswarehouse  11 років тому

    It has a softer, smoother feel but is not as crisp. The C10 Pro has some nice power to it, too. The TFight 325 has a similar box beam feel to a KFactor Six.One 95 and the Pure Storm Tour is similar but a little more muted in feel. I would say resulting stability and control is close among all three, but the Volkl wins in the touch and comfort departments for me.
    Hope that helps.

    @platowasthestig,
    Yes, I'm still using the C10 Pro. Unfortunately, I have not hit the XForce Pro much at all or in a long time so it is tough to compare them.
    Chris, TW

  • @tenniswarehouse
    @tenniswarehouse  10 років тому

    @Taylor Ermoian,
    Both are quite a bit stiffer (upper 60s in RA), with the Tour version of the Strikes feels the most forgiving. I wouldn't say any are harsh by any means, but not a flexible and arm-friendly as the other racquets mentioned in my other response.

    After seeing your reviews of the C10 Pro and the PB 10 Mid, I think one of the two may be my next racquet. What are the differences and which do you personally prefer?

  • @tenniswarehouse
    @tenniswarehouse  11 років тому

    The Organix 10 has a more modern feel to it and is actually closer to the Prestige Pro which I compared the C10 Pro in another comment here. The Organix 10 is more solid feeling in the upper hoop, but the C10 Pro provides a livelier stringbed for me. The Organix 10 is crisper feeling and not as plush and smooth as the C10 Pro.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris, TW

  • @tenniswarehouse
    @tenniswarehouse  11 років тому

    @ David Dalton,
    The C10 Pro is going to be more maneuverable than the 200 Tour and going to feel pretty similar to the PST. However, the C10 Pro beats the PST in the touch/feel category.
    Andy, TW

  • @tenniswarehouse
    @tenniswarehouse  11 років тому

    @SuperBaconJuice,
    The new Blade 98 feels much lighter, is easier to maneuver but does not have near the stability of the C10 Pro. I would say spin is very similar, power goes to the C10 Pro for me due to its added plow through, but pace is very, very easy to generate with the Blade, but the ball is not as heavy. The feel is different, the Volkl plush and silky smooth, the Wilson crisper with a snappier response. Add some lead (mostly near the grip) to the Wilson and they'd be closer.

    I use the Super G 10 295 (super thanks for the recommendation and good sales services) leaded up to 330 gr strung weight / 330sw, 7pts balance. Even though I truly love hitting with that setup I sometimes long for a softer setup, more timeless classic players racquet, and I have the Old 1994 head radical tour that has that plush feel but want something more like my Volkl, yeah that classic Volkl feel, does the C10 pro fit that bill. 330 gr unstrung weight doesn't affect me at all since its sub 330 SW anyway.

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  9 років тому +2

      SM Allan Both are arm-friendly racquets. They swing similarly, too. The biggest difference is in the feel. The C10 Pro has a plusher, silkier more old school feel to it. The Super G 10 325 is firmer and crisper feeling. Out of the two I prefer the softer response of the C10 Pro.

    I recently bought 3 of these quite cheaply and they feel like beautiful rackets so I agree with everything you said, I also like deader polys, but I was wondering if there were any strings you think work especially well with this racket.

    @minipitt,
    Any of the Kirschbaum polys work well and I especially like Spiky Shark. Kirschbaum pre-stretch their polys so they offer a very control-oriented response. I also like Volkl Cyclone, Isospeed Firestorm, Luxilon 4G and Babolat RPM Blast in the C10 Pro.
    Hope that helps,

    Looking to pick up a Volkl stick. I love the feel and balance of my TFlight 320 vo2 max on court which is my current no.1 stick. However, I have tried out the Pure Storm Tour and the Dunlop Bio 200 Tour before - both of which were that heavy to swing that I simply could not generate enough racket head speed for good spin nor prepare fast enough on groundies in fast paced rallies and games. Is the C10 Pro in the same boat as the PST/Bio 200T? Or significantly lighter and easier to play?

      Chris , about to pull the trigger on a racquet . Yonex zone dr 98 or the Volk C10 pro . Ive hit both on demo but nether one did i hit that great because my racquet is a pure drive tour , which is opposite end of the spectrum from both of these . I love everything about the PDT except its lack of feel , and after a year , its still not there , my drop or short game is always 4-5 feet to long . Im a 3.5-4.0 doubles player and do like my racquet to have a little pace and ability to block balls back when needed . I also like a fast frame for serves and reflex volleys , and lastly , Im not a pure serve and volleyer , i use my ground strokes to set up my approach . Based on my info , what would you buy ?

    Another excellent racquet review, Chris! How would you compare this racquet to the Becker 11, as both have relatively similar specs? One thing I noticed about the Becker 11 is that, even though it has a "closed" string pattern of 18/20, you can still generate a surprising amount of spin. Thanks for you help.

    Great review Chris. I'm still nursing a couple of Tour 10 MP Gen 1 sticks (from 2003 I think) and I know the time is near when I'll have to retire them. I want something that plays like the Tour 10 MP, I'd like to stay with a Volkl frame and the C10 Pro is the most likely successor based on your review. That said, I'm open to considering other brands as long as they have the flex, control, plush feeling and plow-through of my current stick. In your opinion, is the C10 Pro my next stick?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  9 років тому +1

      @Ron Keran, Yes, go with the C10 Pro. It offers that soft and plush feel that is classic Volkl and it has the same handle shape as your current racquet. With most racquets getting crisper and stiffer feeling at present, finding a plush and flexy frame is getting harder. You could also try the Wilson Six.One 95 but the feel is further removed from your Tour 10 Gen 1s. Cheers, Chris, TW

    I had trouble with the PST I had, replete with a leather grip. Just felt it awfully clunky to swing with. Never felt confident that I was able to get it back in time for a solid serve return or be able to hit when not fully prepared and given ample time to set up on groundies. I never checked its SW, perhaps it was a unusually factory heavy one that I had? Erring on the side of caution, is a C10 going to be way ahead of a PST in maneuverability? Or same ballpark (in which case i might pass)?

    Hi Chris! I have a few questions before I order. 1.) What is the grip of the C10? is it the cushtac, or the pro grip? Also, just in case the grip shreds, what replacement grip will you choose that will not affect the balance? 2.) If I'm looking for the most control, which cyclone 16 string should I go for? black, yellow, or orange. 3.) Control wise, if you are forced to buy any Volkl racquet today, what would you choose? Thank you, and I hope to hear from you since you are the one who playtested this.

      @Van Nguyen,
      The C10 Pro has a softer feel, a livelier stringbed and more plow through. The Head is lighter and faster feeling. It also requires a little more effort to hit with pace and depth since it doesn't have the mass to help push through the ball. I like the spin I get from the C10 Pro, but the Head is also surprisingly spin-friendly due to how easy it is to whip up the back of the ball. Expect a boost in power and depth on your shots with the C10 Pro over your Dunlop. The Head will be opposite, requiring more effort from you, but offering excellent depth control as a result. Both offer great comfort. Cheers, Chris, TW

    I really like the Six.One 95 18x20 but find the raquet a little stiff. I tried the PB 10 mid and found the ploughthough to be not as good as the Wilson. Perhaps, the hoop is too light? Ideally, I'd the like my raquet to have the same specs as Six.One 95 with a double braided frame or at the very least a little less stiff that the new six.one 95 18x20. Would Volkl C10 fit the bill?
