    Bro I’m 50 , just bought a quadangle cuz I couldn’t afford or find one when I was a kid or teen. That being said , I’ve been lucky enough to own and build repair a GT aRedline A diamondback and a Dyno. Back then I could i un assemble and reassemble any one of them in about hour and change . But on this new quadangle I realized things have definitely changed . It’s gonna take some work and learning about the new thread less stuff . And figure out how to build/gif a hollow bolt thread less setup for a gyro . Can’t go without a gyro man. Anyway I want to say thank you for taking the time to put your skills out here for us … you are much appreciated mate.

    Always make sure that top fork screw is put back on. As an idiot kid I left mine off because I had rounded off alan keys. The stem screws I must have left to loose but they still had enough grip to steer. I get about a mile up the road, try to hop up a curb, and off come the handlebars. Kind of a hilarious image, because your just stood upright on a pair of pedals with a shocked look on your face 😂 but I was dumb, learn from my mistakes, accidents like that can go real bad 🤕

    It is more likely I need more grease? Missing something? 1st thoughts?

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  Рік тому +1

      It can be different depending upon what you have.
      Aftermarket BMX forks are usually threaded on the inside of the steer tube and that's what the cap will thread into.
      Complete bmx bikes will sometimes have a star nut which has a bolt that threads into it.

    Hey, I have Bmx I'm dusting off from a few years back and wanted to replace the headset bearings as feeling a little ruff, it has an integrated headset. Strange thing is, is it has sealed bearings up top, but down below there is a ring inside the frame that caged bearings sit on. Can I just remove the race and put a sealed bearing on the bottom. It's a fit bike co pledge. Thanks in advance

    Can you put a integrated headset on a standard frame that has cups or does the frame have to be integrated too ?

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  3 роки тому +1

      You can get cups made for integrated headsets but normal unsealed cups will not accept an integrated bearing

    I am not a beginner but I haven't rode in over 10yrs lol. I bought a 20" DK Cygnus for 80$. It needs the compression cap & bearings for the Handle bars/Forks. Will a bike shop sell me those pieces? Hoping to get back into bmx & get my little brother into it also!

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  4 роки тому +1

      A bike shop should normally have those parts. Whether or not they will right now I can’t say. Bmx bikes and parts have been selling out almost immediately after being stocked for a few months now. Worth going to the local shop and checking. Psyched to hear you’re getting back into it and maybe even getting someone new into it!!

      You may want to consider doing it a part at a time. When it comes to forks, you don’t want to go halfway, you wanna buy the best right away because if you don’t you’ll end up buying them anyway when the cheaper ones bend or break

    hey man sorry to bother you. I've done this correctly however I still have wobble between my forks and bars? I didn't have a spacer whereas you had the one. would that be what's causing the wobble? I really can't work my head around it.

    • @Brant_Moore
      @Brant_Moore  4 роки тому +1

      It’s possible you need a spacer. If the top of the fork is too close to the top of the hole in the stem, it will not have enough room to tighten. Which is why you could need a spacer. You also could be missing a piece from the headset.
      Hope this helps

    • @billyhaylor2379
      @billyhaylor2379 4 роки тому +1

      @Brant_Moore thank you mate I will have a look. I’m definitely sure all the pieces of the headset are there. Was a full new headset. The forks were bang on inline with the stem so I will add a spacer and see how that is. Thank you so much
