    2019 RT LTD, front brake pads were replaced at 42,000Km, they were squeaking when coming down a steep hill. Mechanic said they were worn to 75%. Other than that no issues with brakes. Great video.😎😎

      42.000km and 75% its great lifespan. I would never get that far 😆😆😆 i believe you will get 80.000km out of rear, or have you change those as well???

    2022 Spyder Sea-to Sky and the brakes have been bad from day one. They squeak at low speed when coming to a stop. When taking the bike home from the dealer after purchase the whole bike would vibrate when braking at highway speeds. At first I thought it was because it was new and needed to seat properly, but I was wrong. After 5000 kms they are still squealing and vibrating. Brakes will be my next upgrade. Thank for the great video Martin!

      Start with loosening the lugs. If you have a torque wrench set it to 100ft lbs and loosen them. If it clicks they're too tight. Tighten the lugs to 77ft lbs and see if your brakes are better. Lots of shops put the wheels on too tight and it warps the rotors..luckily the rotors are tough and you find they are ok with no wobble afterwards..speaking from experience as I fixed a buddy of nines and he said it rode like a new byke afterwards..

    Dang Martin... I like your warning to take your Spyder to a dealer to perform brake service if you don't know what you're doing (and I don't 🤪)... but then your video shows clearly and close-up that it's not rocket science. Was it really as straightforward as it looks ? If so, this is one heck of an excellent "how-to" video... for both the rotor upgrade, and the brake pads replacement 😁👍👍

    I have a 2015 F3 with 50k miles. I’m on my 3rd set of rotors. My second EBC set lasted only 5k miles. Turns out the hub it mounts to isn’t true and the pads wear the rotors to an uneven thickness ( 3 o’clock vs 9 o’clock). My solution took several attempts but saved my 3rd set. I put slivers of foil tape on the hub to help true the rotors. Mark the rotors with a sharpie to see where the brake pads rub and keep adding/ moving tape until it’s nearly perfectly true. Just to make sure they wear even I rotate the rotors 1/3 every 3000 miles and torque the lug nuts. My first 2 sets shook the fenders so bad it broke all 4 brackets and so I reinforced and welded them twice as strong. Now it brakes so smooth and no more vibrations. Hope this makes sense and let me know if I should make a video to explain it better

    Not trying to be rude, but torque specs are important, and you run a business. Yet, when doing work, you hardly ever use a torque wrench. Over tight can be bad, especially when taking things on and off like you do when showcasing cool products as can being too loose. As a customer riding one of your Syders or Rykers, it's frightening to know that the vehicle im riding like has been modified for my enjoyment but may not be safe or relies on "it feels right" specifications. I appreciate that you calling out the torque specs, but the "do as I say and not as I do" ideology does not look good. Brakes are one area you need to be right, 100% of the time. Thanks. Love the channel, I subscribe and look for notifications from you.

    • @MartinTheVlogger
      @MartinTheVlogger  5 місяців тому +3

      Good and valid point. Many times i dont use torque wrench coz its "useless". I also dont want to be rude with my reply so take my words with "reserve" pls. , manytines the tourque spec are written only because to comply with "rules" like when you put back the swaybar and there are tourque specs for not overtighting etc . . Also I have pretty good level of knowing what force i use.. its just how i am, old school. Many times also you guys dont see the full story in the video 😉😉😉. But again, valid points 🤟
